Wolf
Re: Imperialize it! Blazing Starship; A certain World is in the path of a "Hyperspace lane" (or other similar reason) in the middle of nowhere and it must be destroyed to make room... however there is a settlement of Miners, who have just requested the need of a new local Magistrate... so a member of a prejudiced species is brought as said law officer, good times ensue, "Dock that Endosun a day's pay, for napping on the job". Midas
Re: Imperialize it! Gilligan's Planet (Yes I know it was a Sat Morn spinnoff) The six PC's and their indestructable robot are stranded on a garden planet. Every attemt to get away or contact help is accidently foiled by the robot. (which is why he is indestructable). For a grittier feel, feel free to introduce a string of "evil" numbers, The Others, etc. Midas Based on Midas's suggestion... Lost: A crash strands the surviving passengers of Stellar Flight 815 on a seemingly deserted planet, forcing the group of strangers to work together to stay alive. However, their survival is threatened by mysterious entities including white-furred ursoid beasts, an unseen creature that roams the jungles surrounding the crash site, and the planet's malevolent inhabitants known as the "Others." Thanks. For a cornier effort, try this: When said Unseen Creature Roaming the Jungle is nearby, the robot will wave its arms and alert everyone within five kilometers of "DANGER! DANGER!" (Beware of animated vegitable-men! ) Midas (Yes I know the request was for non SF, but I couldn't resist)
Nevenall
Re: Imperialize it! This certainly works for me! (Except that there are only five planets in the Tau Ceti system' date=' per [i']Worlds Of Empire[/i]....) Just what the Empire wants you to believe. BlackSword
Re: Imperialize it! The Count of Monte Cristo: Days before his wedding and becoming captain of a free trader, Edmond Dantes is accused of a crime he didn't commit, arrested and taken away to a prison planet. After spending several years in prison, he befriends another prisoner and learns from him of a stash of valuable merchandise on the planet of Monte Cristo. Escaping from prison, Edmond claims the treasure and transforms himself into the Count of Monte Cristo. Fueled by wealth, Edmond begins his plan of revenge on those that took away his life. Side 1: The PCs have been hired by Dantes to help him in his plan. Side 2: The PCs are employees of the people being targeted by Dantes. Side 3: The PCs are caught up in Dantes schemes, either as Imperial Agents, or other entities. They must unravel the truth and then choose a side, or wait and see how it plays out. Side 4: Background for a PC
Clonus
Sleeping Beauty The characters discover a century-old wrecked space yacht. In it, along with a lot of other junk some of which is valuable, is a cryogenic suspension capsule containing a beautiful girl. When the players realise that she's apparently the missing rightful heir from back then and in theory her claim to the throne supercedes that of the unpopular current Emperor descended from her cousin...what will they do? lapsedgamer
Re: Imperialize it! From Baywatch: A group of specially trained military personnel conduct search and rescue missions in the ocean-like atmosphere of--and the on the moons orbitting-- a gas giant in a far off star system, and look damn good doing it. They can use special sublight craft (boats) and pressure suits (SCUBA equipment). They could also have personal thruster sleds to manuever around with. You could give one of the moons a more Earth-like enviroment and have more traditional water or land based plots as well. All sorts of ridiculous plots come to mind. You could have smugglers using the planet's rings as a safe haven. You could have mysterios sentient creatures floating around in the methane atmosphere of the gas giant. You could have someone play a character based on David Hasselhoff.
Guest Major Tom
Re: Imperialize it! Eraser: A special section within the Imperial law-enforcement agency (I don't know what it's called in Terran Empire) handles the task of pro- tecting witnesses to violent crimes. It accomplishes this task by "erasing" the pasts of the witnesses, constructing entirely new lives and histories for them, and relocating them in far-off solar systems beyond the reach of those who would try to silence them.
