Kal'El Wayne
Re: WWYCD: King Arthur is back Merlin, according to the legend, took Arthur to the Lady Of The Lake (Merlin's fairy cousin who lives in a lake) when Arthur broke the sword from the stone in a fight with The Black Knight (Some knight who wears black armour and won't let people use his road without a fight). When he gets the sword and it's scabbard/sheath, he asks Arthur whether he thinks the scabbard/sheath covered in gems, or the sword, Excalibur, that will never miss, is more important. Obviously Arthur thinks that a sword which will never miss, break, get blunt or even be disarmed, is more valuable. WRONG! As long as Arthur has the scabbard/sheath, not only is he invulnerable and unkillable, he can also never lose a fight. Ever! And, BTW, Sir Johnstone (An english butler like Alfred but knighted and with superpowers) would probably pledge immediate loyalty, even unto death, and expect 'The One True King Of England' to assume command of his sovereignty. If it turned out to be a trick, for some nefarious plot, Sir Johnstone would be very peeved. And when an English butler gets peeved, people DIE! CrosshairCollie
Re: WWYCD: King Arthur's back I have no problem with defeating a cosmic powerhouse by use of their inborn Achilles' Heels. That's what they are for' date=' after all. Nor by using very clever trickery, excellent strategical planning, or exploiting of the powerhouse's psych foibles. I have a very big problem with *mortal* martial artists going into hand-to-hand combat with cosmic powerhouses, trusting their excellent dojo training, and getting anything but the worst beating of theri lives, if they indeed survive. In any setting of mine, Karate Kid ought to have died a very messy death. Now, if the martial artist happens to be a true superhuman whose powers involve super combat prowess (e.g. Midnighter, Cap. America), the bets are off. I just deeply loathe the "if you know Judo well enough, you can throw Superman" cliche.[/quote'] You mean like the time Batman went toe-to-toe in HTH combat with Darkseid and won? This is why some boardgoers think Batman has Multiform ... his 200 point 'heroic' version that hangs out in Gotham City, and the 1500 point version that hangs out with the Justice League.
