Basil
AND I LOVE IT!! At 15:01 UTC on November 14, 2008, India joined the small club (three countries and the ESA) of entities that have landed a craft on the Moon. :D Admittedly, it was a "controlled crash," but it still counts. Oh, and they have a craft in orbit around the Moon. AND they plan to put a rover on the Moon in three or four years. Info here, here, here (bunch of links), and here. "Welcome to the club, fellas. Pull up a chair and have a beverage of your choice." Later: They've turned on some of the instruments already.
tkdguy
Re: Solar HERO: Everybody's getting into the act! Yeah, it's pretty exciting. Any bets on whether they'll get a man on the moon before we return?

Only thing better would be a shot of a US and an Indian Astronaut shaking hands on the lunar surface.

However, it might be a Japanese Astronaut, or a Chinese Astronaut, or a Russian Astronaut, or---well, who knows.

I was just wondering if the Russians had plans aside from keeping the ISS aloft. They often seem to be overlooked by the American media. Basil
Re: Solar HERO: Everybody's getting into the act! I don't care what gender, color, nation, religion, method of getting there, etc., etc., etc. Just so long as we (meaning the human race) don't bring back a bunch of rocks, then turn our back on the best hope for a future for humanity. Again.
