Michael Hopcroft
I realized that there are some Complications that nobody in their right mind would want. Like this one: Hunted by everyone in the world. Imagine being under an edict so severe than every "good citizen" who sees or encounters you is obligated to detain you for the authorities or, in more extreme cases, try and off you on the spot. The reward for you, dead or alive, is enough to set someone in a good lifestyle for the rest of their lives. An example of such a character would be a well-known terrorist or traitor -- or someone falsely accused of being such. You must conceal your identity from everyone, including your own family. Every adventure is that of a fugitive. If your disguise slips even a little, you could find yourself facing loaded guns from even the most innocent of people. And every action you take to avoid your awful fate makes your reputation, and the intensity with which you are hunted, that much worse. Even your associates cannot be trusted because of the price on your head. It would be interesting to see how many points it's worth, but NO Complication is worth that much player misery.... NestorDRod
Re: Hunted -- Everyone Well, a potential candidate for such a Complication would be the protagonist of Stephen King's novel The Running Man. The character ends up participating in a "game show" in the future where he becomes a wanted man, hunted down for the audience's amusement. Anyone informing on him or helping in his capture receives a reward. I agree, it wouldn't be feasible as a long-term Complication, but maybe for a one-shot or a temporary situation it could work. megaplayboy
Re: Hunted -- Everyone Hunted--More powerful, non-combat influence, frequently/all the time, harshly punish plus probably a social complication and an extreme negative rep. If you want to really rack up the points, add distinctive features(easily concealable), causes extreme reaction. You could literally get all of your complication points from that one plot point. Doug Limmer
Re: Hunted -- Everyone It sounds like the main character from the manga/anime Scrapped Princess. Well, except for the Distinctive Features.

Well' date=' except for the Distinctive Features.[/quote'] Indeed. Pacifica has perhaps the worst moral dilemma any character in a fantasy series could ever deal with -- her very existence threatened the world, and she knew it. She wanted to live and to do good, but she was trapped by her apparent destiny.
EvilDrPuma
Re: Hunted -- Everyone Tuala Morn has something akin to this, the glam dicin (Druids' Ban). It isn't a Hunted, but rather two Disads: an unconcealable, extreme reaction Distinctive Features and a Very Frequently, Major Social Limitation that together mean that EVERYBODY recognizes the character as an outlaw with zero legal rights or protections. The end result would probably be similar to Hunted: Everyone in many cases.
Lairian
Re: Hunted -- Everyone The question is, even if it is everyone on the world, does Vash the Stampede get to write down on this complication "More Powerful"?

Maybe just for the female half of the population?

Lairian
Re: Hunted -- Everyone Is it just me, or does everyone else get visions of the Evil League of Evil picking up the character bodily to set him in a corner while clucking "naughty, naughty, naughty!" every time they see "mildly punish" on a hunted?
