John Desmarais
Re: I am Spartacus Two reviews on Amazon. . . both say it's awful' date=' sub-[i']300[/i] stuff and give it one star. Pity. If it had been merely "not good" it still could have been interesting just due to the subject matter.

He was actually quite good in it, as was Lucy Lawless. I was surprised, she showed better acting chops than in Xena. Everyone else, the acting was passable to decent. The super-fake CGI blood and guts threw things off a bit, but there really was a pretty good tale underneath all that computer makeup. pruttm
Re: I am Spartacus There was so much CGI blood that it became the norm and easy to ignore. Regardless, I am looking forward to the mini-series with John and Lucy. Pete
Jhaierr
Re: I am Spartacus I also watched this, and it got much better after the first couple of overly stylized episodes. A couple of the episodes were really moving (one in particular). The finale was awesome. Gave me chills.
Nevenall
Re: I am Spartacus For the record, I skipped the first episode and enjoyed the rest of season one. Some of the CGI of things passing through bodies was spectacularly bad, but those moments were rare. The program is actually quite watchable, just skip episode 1. OddHat
Re: I am Spartacus Old thread, but I'll pipe in and say I watched the series on Netflix streaming. Not deep, lots of stuff to annoy history and martial arts geeks (I'm both), but in the end I liked it enough to watch it through to the last episode, and if they do a season two or mini series I'll tune in for that as well.
