Karmakaze
I thought some folks here might find this recent Ask.Metafilter thread interesting: Holy Carbon Copies, Batman! Someone's asking for a list of characters in published comics with duplication. Most of the ones I could think of were already posted before I got there. McCoy
Re: Holy Carbon Copies, Batman! AARGH! Computer ate my reply! Friend of the Legion Duplicate Boy (Ord Quelu of the planet Lallor) has the power to duplicate the power of any other hero, so could duplicate himself by duplicating Duo Damsel's power. The Persuader once used his Atomic Axe to cut through the barriers between alternate realities, bringing together many different versions of the Fatal Five. Not his power, something done to him, Silver Age Flash (Barry Allen) once had his after images materialize into five Flashes. Originally made for TV, but I'm sure was in a comic book sometime. Hanna-Barbera's super group The Impossibles has Multi Man. Not sure if Lilo and Stitch were in a comic, but in one episode of the TV series Stitch got duplicated, and the entire ohana had to fight hundreds of clones of his nemesis, Leroy. Speaking of clones, do the Imperial Storm Troopers in Star Wars count?
Bloodstone
Re: Holy Carbon Copies, Batman! Ben 10 in the original series could duplicate himself as Ditto, but I don't recall if that alien ever appeared in any of the comics... Also, Billy Numerous made it into the comics not to long ago. casualplayer
Re: Holy Carbon Copies, Batman! The Composite Superman had Triplicate Girl's powers, so theoretically he could have made three copies each with all the Legion's powers. Why exactly did he ever lose? Harbinger, from Crisis. Metamorpho, especially when he made Shyft and left him with the Outsiders. Lobo, before he was spayed. Do the two-into-one characters like Starhawk, Firestorm and Dr. Fate count? Does Noman from the Thunder Agents count? Or Vision's and Red Tornado's succession of android bodies?

wcw43921
Re: Holy Carbon Copies, Batman! In a memorable Christmas episode of The Tick animated series, there was Multiple Santa. a crook in a Santa suit who could duplicate himself indefinitely by charging himself with electricity. In the 4th Edition Champions Universe (Classic Organizations, pg. 39-40) there was Strikeforce, a reformed villain who could generate seven copies of himself. He worked in Sanctuary as a butler, chef, doorman and janitor. Now for the obscure character of the month--The Duplicate Man, who could only create one other copy of himself (like Johnathan Taylor Thomas' character in Smallville but not as squickly) yet was able to stymie the legendary Superman-Batman team--for a little while. RexMundi
Re: Holy Carbon Copies, Batman! Bring on Horus and the Steel General from Roger Zelazny's Creatures of Light and Darkness if you want massive amounts of Duplicate hand to hand combat. ~Rex

Hugh Neilson
Re: Holy Carbon Copies, Batman! An old Marvel once had Mystique shift into a form that had four arms and eyes in the back of her head, IIRC. This looked a lot like Duplication in a single body.
