Ragitsu
People assume playing in games and keeping power parity is some sort of inherent right and the GM's job is merely to dish out maximum fun to every player. The bonus XP is the GM's method of telling players "hey, I want to have fun too, and I have fun when X happens". If you are truly stuck in your ways and unwilling to at least try to give the GM some fun back, then what right do you have to demand absolute power parity or even expect to keep a chair at the game? And I'm willing to say that yes, the GM's preferred style absolutely has a higher value than a players. He's the one who's putting in work outside of game night to run the game and without him there probably wouldn't be one. An unsatisfied player means an open slot. An unsatisfied GM means no game.(Note that this doesn't apply to GMs who don't like it like the OP. If none of the examples of benefit resonate with the OP, absolutely house rule away RP XP. In most systems it's pretty much entirely optional anyway.)

Clonus
What I do know for certain: the moment I recruit Bull, I'm dooming anywhere from 1, 7, 102, or 103 people to death. As soon as I do his quest, I lose the option of losing only Bull, and my options are between killing 7, 102, or 103 people. As long as you ignore the people you use the Chargers to save.
