They have no visible sensory organs, but somehow manage to see where they are going and detect other creatures. Their touch is highly acidic. Anything that touches them even for an instant will immediately be subject to their corrosive jelly -- even weapons! They come in two colors, green and red. Other than color, the only difference between them is that red slimes can spit corrosive venom and are a little more resistant to damage.
