Marcus Impudite
Your character has been contacted by PRIMUS, UNTIL, or whatever organization in your character's world fills their role. They've heard through the grapevine that a mastermind is planning a major heist and is at present recruiting a gang of the best mercenary villains money can buy. They secretly arrested one of the villains they believed the mastermind would most likely try to recruit and they're planning to replace him/her with an inside man/woman. That's where your character comes in, he/she just happens to be one of the few people the agency trusts who could sucessfully impersonate the villain they have in custody due to similarities in appearance and/or powers. Naturally, they have the villain's costume and a theatical make-up artist on hand to compete the disguise, assuming your character is willing to take part in the operation. Which villain would your character most likely be impersonating? WWYCD?
Drhoz
Re: Undercover Ops Vitus, as a seven-foot-tall gnoll, would be extremely surprised at this suggestion. If there are other gnolls around then meeting them is going to the priority, not impersonating them. Zero could probably do it. He wears a full suit already, and telepathy would help with the impersonation. Not the right genre for Rumbaba or Polonius
sinanju
Re: Undercover Ops Iron Maiden is a classic flying brick. She could impersonate any number of other female bricks (flying or otherwise). She'd do it. Hell's Angel is a supernaturally beautiful and charismatic winged woman with fire powers--there aren't a lot of those around. Not applicable. Black Mask is a super-martial artist. He could impersonate any number of thugs, minions, or low-level scrappers. Black Knight is another brick, but the special effect of his powers (he takes full damage--he just heals instantly) is hard to disguise. Not applicable. Raven is a lunatic one of whose powers is "shapeshifting"--she could impersonate most anyone.
Naanomi
Re: Undercover Ops Economaster has had relationships with such organizations in the past, and could probably throw together the funds to get a passable Power-Armor suit, magical artifact, or something similar to impersonate powers of someone else using that sort of 'external' power source... getting inside, getting info, and tearing up the funding for the villainous project sounds right up her alley! The Golem is um... 'sculptable' to make a passable physical resemblance to anyone huge, but is probably the worst actor imaginable. Any giant, mute aliens or weirdo mutants with no social skills as villains floating around? Heck, it's reputation is bad enough that an enterprising villain might accept hiring it on just as a villain or monster as is!
Vulcan
Re: Undercover Ops Ooooh... this one has some potential for Vigil. Of course, he would have to find out about it on his own, the authorities in Vigil's world trust metahumans about as far as... well, as far as Hitler trusted Jews. Mabye less. But for him, it would be simple. He would just sweep in and volunteer his services. After all, he does still have his old costume, from when he was the supervillian Stalker. Blue
Re: Undercover Ops Uncle Slam would require some serious voodoo in order to disguise himself. He's tall and buff with a huge charisma. He's not the go-to guy for undercover. Anthem has done undercover work before having infiltrated a Viper base as a young "viper youth" recruit with no powers, which worked out fine until she blew her cover protecting a bystander with her body, easily deflecting the damage with no injury to herself. As a martial artist, infiltrating as an agent is probalby her best move. Audra Blue is a shut-in hacker. So I'll substitute Lucretia, who not only has been undercover, but her backstory involves being undercover with a syndicate for two years, where in a very Dark-Champions way she developed a drug habit and did lots of things she doesn't like to think about. Now she's squeaky clean to counter it. It would depend on the operation. If it involved proving her worth once she was under she'd probably pass.
