Bolon
I am just curious of the various story threads that were linked to the character disadvantages other than the obvious ones. These would be ones that would end in unravelling a mystery or story to discover the reason or clear the disadvantage or complication. In Dark Champs, a former police officer had an enraged against 1920's gangster/ mafia dress and behaviour. This was linked to the gang that severely injured him, leaving him for dead, the event that made him go vigilante. The trauma of the event erased his precise memory and left him with this effect. It was that Pokerface of the Card Sharks was the one who shot him and would be someone the would later encounter to clear this. Any other inventive disadvantages or complications? Christopher
Re: Story Threads from Disadvantages or Complications This was only an idea, but: The Gang: DNCP, 3 Persons The Story: My character (female Brick) stopped a three person "gang" from comitting a minor crime in the "just before the story starts" time. Nothing special, but for some reason they decided they need to get even or nobody will take them seriously again. But they are simply no match for a 400 point Brick. They aren't even a match for a Heroic normal or her when her weakness kicks in. They hunt her anyway and are completely oblivious to danger. So they might pop up in the middle of a fight with mechanon/grond/other superhuman treath and try to get even, totally ignoring that they are in mortal danger just for being there. So she or her teammates would actually have to rescue them (and hence it's a DNCP, not a hunted).
Chris Goodwin
Re: Story Threads from Disadvantages or Complications The favorite one that I've never had a chance to use... two players who don't define their DNPCs very well. One of them has DNPC: Generic Girlfriend Of The Week, the other has DNPC: Wife. How long can the GM string it out before the players discover that those two DNPCs are the same person... Repped.
