  1. Re: Expanded Everyman Skill List Hello, For me, the problem comes from the fact that 'modern education' varies deeply based upon where you live and where you have been educated. I 've been raised in France, and live in Switzerland, and my closest worker is a german raised englishman. We have a completely different set of general knowledge, even if both working with computers after a degree in electrical working. If we stay with 'Everyman skill is a skill possessed by Every person', the list should be reduced. I personnaly favor a list adapted to the background of the character. Kloster
  2. Re: Size Matters Hello, It works well. Skills are identical, mental stats are identical (but thiis is not mandatory), powers are different, physical stats are different, and what decided me to go through the multiform way is : disadvantages are differents. I have put the multiform in a Draconic Powers multipower. Both forms have the same number of points (200 + 150). The points in the human form not used on physical stats and draconic powers are used on Magical powers and equipment. Hopes this can help. Kloster
  3. Re: Size Matters That's exactly my character, and it's done with a Multiform: The dragon (albeit a small one) is the true form, and the human form is a second one. Kloster
  4. Re: Cannot be pushed/Cannot be positivelly modified by adjustement powers Hello, For me, the first is OK (in the book IIRC) For the second, my own character uses the same, at same value. As he is able to AID his own powers, this is limiting (and in my opinion, is worth more than -1/4, but the GM disagrees, so he is right). In other cases, it completely depends on how available are adjustment powers to the characters (through other players, VPP, NPC, hardware and equipment,...). Regards, Kloster
  5. Re: Resistant Power/Flash/Mental Defense Hello, Completely true: You HAVE to buy 'does body' if you want to be able to do it. It also legal not to do it (and akind, albeit different of AVLD vs resistant def). But, as always, this HAS to be justified by concept, and the GM has the right to say NO. I agree that not using Does body is (or more properly seems) a way to use the STUN lottery. I'm using it on a HKA, with does Body and a reduced STUN multiplier. It's a (very visible) psychic sword akind to the psy dagger used by Psylocke (in Mind Games, IIRC). Regards, Kloster P.S. It's different because for BOECV RKA's, if there is a single point of resistant def, the whole def applies to STUN (as for regular RKAs). For AVLD (resistant def) EB, only the resistant part is applied both to STUN and BODY. If those advantages are applied to HKA, not RKA, another difference also comes to mind: the difference of treatment about STR (Prorating advantages or not), and MA.
  6. Re: Resistant Power/Flash/Mental Defense Hello, Completely true. KAs are resisted by resistant defense, and EGO based KAs are resisted by resistant EGO def (if the owner choose so). The same way an AVLD (flash def) RKA would be resisted by resistant Flash def, and even without the does body advantage, if NO resistant defense is present, there will be no defense for STUN either. This is at least how I understood (and am using) it. regards, Kloster
  7. Re: Champions vs other systems You forgot Golden heroes (The worst I've ever seen), the several aspects of Marvel (each by TSR, with a very simple one, a more complex, 'advanced' version, and a SAGA one, each one discontinued), DC heroes (with it's pure logarithmic system, +1 is a doubling, also discontinued), several GURPS suplements (Wild cards is a very good one),... Regards, Kloster
  8. Re: Multiple Power Attacks: Abused? Hi, Completely agree. On the basic subject, MPA are a good way to simulate complex attacks or maneuvers (the disarm/cover fencing combo is a very good example). We use them, most of the time by characters that bought duplicate equipments, and found no problems. Our GM solved the problem of abuse very simply (in a previous shadowrun campaign, but he kept the trick): every trick used by players can be used by the GM against them. This has the effect of keeping in line the most cheesy effects, as players don't like to have their character being removed from play by their own tricks. On the MPA, this has lead to usage like usage of 2 swords, or 2 quasi-standard guns (Steyr GBs) in aChamp campaign. Regards, Kloster
  9. Re: Naked Advantage Cheese Factor Not cheesy at all, if you take in account the AP at 90 AP. The idea is a very good one, to simulate either an easy, basic TK, or a more difficult one that can do marvels. Bye, Kloster
  10. Re: How to: Shapeshift Hi, Yes exactly. Multiform is a standard power, and thus can be placed in a VPP. You can have a specialized VPP. The only problem is that if the forms are not defined in advance, the play is terribly slowed. Your solution works also (EC, or EC + VPP), but is more complicated. Regards, Kloster
  11. Re: How to: Shapeshift Hi, If I remember welll, Multiform is a standard power. The best way (but the slowest) is to have ... a VPP or Multipower to perform the multiforms. Just refuse the player to create new forms on the spot if you wish to avoid the game being bogged down. Kloster
  12. Hello Steve, In the FAQ, we find : Q: What happens if a character Dispels or Suppresses a granted power on the recipient? On the grantor? A: If the recipient’s power is Dispelled/Supressed, it affects only him. If the grantor’s power to grant the power is Dispelled/Suppressed, any current recipients of that power lose it. What would be the limitation on a power UBO that is drained/suppressed when ANY of the recipient is drained/suppressed. I presume it would be -1/4.
  13. Hello Steve, I understand that computers are subject to the : +5 points double the number rule. What I don't understand is if those different computers should be identical or not. I have a character that has 2 different 100 points computers. Does he has to pay (100/5) + (100/5) = 40 Points or (100/5)+5 points? Thanks and regards, Kloster
