  3. Re: Ctrl+V Sources: Various. Translation: I translated/corrected some of the track titles, but others could be incorrect (where I could only find translated or romanized titles only). Original Soundtrack ~Kettou I~ - 32 tracks (Duel 1 on this torrent is 36 tracks?) Track Title Artist Notes 1 INTRODUCTION Shinkichi Mitsumune (序奏) Josou Musical Introduction 2 Opening Theme: "Voice" CLOUD 3 決闘(デュ エル)のテーマ Shinkichi Mitsumune The kanji in this song's title means "duel," but the Japanese pronunciation of it is actually "Kettou." Kettou (Dyueru) Teema Duel Theme 4 封印(ふう いん)されし奇跡(きせき) Shinkichi Mitsumune This is the theme of Exodia the Sealed One, used when Dark Yuugi dueled Seto Kaiba for the Blue-Eyes White Dragon card that Kaiba stole from Sugoroku Mutou. Fuuin-sareshi Kiseki The Sealed Miracle 5 熱(あつ) き決闘者(デュエリスト)たち Shinkichi Mitsumune As with Track 3, the kanji in this title means "duelist" but is actually pronounced "Kettou-sha." This song is the main battle theme in Duelist Kingdom. Atsuki Kettousha (DUELIST)-tachi Passionate Duelists 6 つながる心 (こころ) Shinkichi Mitsumune Tsunagaru Kokoro Connected Hearts 7 気(き)ままな放課後(ほうかご) Shinkichi Mitsumune For this track title, "After school" doesn't refer to a noun (a place or a thing), but a time of day; one is willful or selfish (indulgent) after school is out. This is the theme of someone who does whatever they want after school, vs. being in a club or studying. Kimama na Houkago Selfish After School 8 華 麗(かれい)な る舞(まい) Shinkichi Mitsumune Mai Kujaku's theme. The word "karei" is what's called a na-adjective. However, you don't just stick a -ru onto a word to conjugate it into a verb, which is why some might think the "naru" in this title is actually the verb meaning "to become, to grow." Actually, this conjugation of "karei naru" is used a lot in movie and TV drama titles, and emphasizes the adjective (in this case, "karei," which can mean magnificent, splendorous, perfect, etc). In English this usually translates to "THE (karei) Mai," and because of the English alliteration, we've opted for "magnificent" here. Karei naru Mai The Magnificent Mai 9 秘(ひ)め た想(おも)い Shinkichi Mitsumune The "omoi" in this case can mean a number of things; usually it means "thoughts," but it can also refer to the mind, the heart, feelings, emotions, sentiments, love/affection, desires, wishes, hopes, expectations, imaginings, or experiences. Himeta Omoi Hidden Thoughts 10 疾 風(しっぷう) Shinkichi Mitsumune No, not the Final Fantasy 8 character; this "squall" refers to a hurricane-like storm or violent wind gale. Shippuu Squall 11 未 知(みち)な る空間(くうかん) Shinkichi Mitsumune It's worth pointing out that the Japanese language DOES differentiate between words for the "unknown" and the "not yet known." In this case, it's the "not yet known," implying that one day, someone will understand the "space" that this track title refers to. Michi naru Kuukan The Space Not Yet Known 12 迫りくるも の Shinkichi Mitsumune Serikuru mono That Which Draws Near 13 決 闘者(けっとうしゃ)の王 国(おうこく) (デュエリスト・キングダム) Shinkichi Mitsumune No, it's not a mistake that the title seems to be repeated twice for this track. The first set (the kanji) literally translates to "the Duelist's Kingdom," and the katakana beside it reads "Duelist Kingdom" as well. So the title is meant to be read "in English," even though there's a perfectly good Japanese pronunciation of those characters with the exact same meaning. Why? Probably because Pegasus is American and would call his tournament by its English name, rather than a Japanese equivalent! Kettou-sha no Oukoku (Dyuerisuto Kingudamu) Duelist Kingdom (Duelist Kingdom) 14 飛 翔(ひしょう) Shinkichi Mitsumune Hishou Flying (Taking Flight) 15 INTERLUDE Shinkichi Mitsumune The bracketed information for this track reads , or , which you can take to mean that the noise that might have been interfering with this track from M6 (whatever that is) has been suppressed or slightly "diluted" so it's not as audible. 間 奏曲(かんそうきょく) Kansoukyoku 16 ILLUSION Shinkichi Mitsumune 17 激 震(げきしん) Shinkichi Mitsumune Gekishin Violent Tremors/Severe Earthquake 18 戦 略的思考(せんりゃくてきしこう) Shinkichi Mitsumune Senryakuteki shikou Strategic Thinking 19 闇(や み)よりの使(つ)い Shinkichi Mitsumune The word "tsukai" can mean "message" or "messenger" as two of its most common translations, so this track title could also be "Messenger from the Darkness." The word "yori" means "from" in the same way you might sign a letter "From (Your Name Here)," so in this case, it's the darkness that's personified, and that's probably more important than whether or not it's a message or whether a messenger comes (bearing a message). Also, the word "existence" in brackets is a conjugation of the Japanese verb "Aru," or 有る," which is used when talking about inanimate (non-living) objects. It appears as "有り" in the original Japanese. The use of Aru/Ari and its similar conjugations is similar to the English "To be" verb, so it's not exactly easy to translate. Yami Yori no Tsukai Message from the Darkness 20 デュエルチ ングI Shinkichi Mitsumune How do we know this track title is "Duel Ring" and not "Dueling?" Simple: the word "Dueling" in English-approximated Japanese would be "Dyuering" (no "ru"), not "Dyueruring." This track refers to the place where almost all of the duels throughout Duelist Kingdom take place-- in a Duel Arena or Duel Ring. Dyueru ringu I Duel Ring I 21 MY TURN Shinkichi Mitsumune 22 切(き)り札(ふ だ) Shinkichi Mitsumune The "trump card" in Duel Monsters is the card that Yuugi or any of the other characters pulls out of their deck at the last minute, usually right before they would otherwise be defeated. In the video game "Duelists of the Roses," the ability to draw this card is called the "Destiny Draw." Dark Yuugi just calls it The Heart of the Cards. Kirifuda Trump Card 23 予 感(よかん) Shinkichi Mitsumune Yokan Premonition 24 明 日(あした)へ向(む)かっ て Shinkichi Mitsumune Ashita e Mukatte Toward Tomorrow 25 Ending Theme: "元気(げ んき)のシャワー" (TVサイズ) Aki Maeda "Genki" is a strange Japanese word in that it has several (related) meanings, such as "feeling" (As in "How are you feeling today?" and "energy" or "energetic." Thus, this track title could also be translated as "Shower of Energy." "Genki no SHOWER" (TV-size) "Shower of Feeling" (TV-size) 26 TRAP Shinkichi Mitsumune 27 BE SMART Shinkichi Mitsumune 28 デュエルリ ングII Shinkichi Mitsumune Dyueru ringu II Duel Ring II 29 重(か さ)なる鼓 動(こどう) Shinkichi Mitsumune "Beats" in this case refers to heartbeats or palpitations, not beats of music. Kasanaru Kodou Overlapping Beats 30 決 闘(デュエル)の テーマ ~THE PEGASUS URBAN REMIX~ Shinkichi Mitsumune Dyueru no Teema ~THE PEGASUS URBAN REMIX~ Duel Theme ~THE PEGASUS URBAN REMIX~ 31 秘(ひ)め た想(おも)い ~AMBIENT MIX PF SOLO~ Shinkichi Mitsumune Himeta Omoi ~AMBIENT MIX PF SOLO~ Hidden Thoughts ~AMBIENT MIX PF SOLO~ 32 PRELUDE Shinkichi Mitsumune Original Soundtrack ~Kettou II~ - 30 tracks 01 Prelude II 02 UNKNOWN - if anyone knows the name of this track, let us know 03 UNKNOWN - if anyone knows the name of this track, let us know 04 Legendary Duel 05 Clash 06 Psychological Warfare 07 Victory in the City 08 Enjoyable Friends 09 Applause 10 Crawling Shadow 11 Hero's Footsteps 12 Ending of the Battle 13 Harmony 14 Chaser 15 The Hanging from Heaven Dragon 16 Powerful Strength 17 Unknown Rival 18 Labyrinth 19 A Strange Enemy's Attack 20 Prank 21 Chat! 8. In your experience, what's the appropriate number/number-range of fantasy races in the campaigns you've ran or played in? What should GMs be on the lookout for in regards to supplements that introduce new races? Do societies become too unbelievable when there are twenty-six varieties of elves and fourteen kinds of dwarves?
  9. Re: Ctrl+V Didn't you know cigarettes contain benzopyrene, a chemical that leads to lung cancer? We now know that when benzopyrene enters the body, it changes to benzopyrene diolepoxide (BPDE) and attaches to the receptors on the P53 gene, the gene which causes lung cancer. The BPDE attaches to the P53 gene in three specific locations and causes pre-cancerous changes to the lung tissue.
