Re: Steampunk / Iron Kingdoms Conversion?
I think there are threads in Fantasy Hero about it.Thank you... I ask over there when I get a chance.

Has anyone done work on converting the Privateer Press Iron Kingdoms RPG material to Hero.
Iron Kingdoms was originally created for D&D 3.5 and looks to be chocked full of fun ideas and things that make a fun backdrop for a steampunk Hero-based game.
Iron Kingdoms appears to be an RPG setting related to Privateer's Warmachine miniatures game.

The Bas Lag books by China Mieville (Perdido Street Station, The Scar, Iron Council)
I would give this a healthy second as I'm currently making my way through these books...

Re: HERO: Combat Evolved [Equipment Posts & Comments]
Hey guys, maybe you've run into this before, but here's a link to the Lego HALO Forum at a Lego fan-site.

I know it does have anything to do with Thia's ongoing project... it at least seemed topical and just kinda cracked me up.
Enjoy.

These Fine Products Are Available At Better Retail Outlets Worldwide...
in 1987.
Hey, look there's some kind of game called Champions in here...
and there are supplements for it. Cool.
Oh, hey, and there's some kind of Pulpy game... and some spy stuff. Hmmm... I wonder if it's good as that James Bond 007 game I keep seeing everywhere?
... and it even has a magazine. Maybe I'll check this game out.

Re: on Ebay now: Wings of the Valkyrie
Nice collection. (Man, it's been forever since I played Ogre/GEV. Good times.)BTW, I've got a copy of WotV as well if anyone else is interested. Mine's not in mint condition, though, but it's in good (playable) shape.
Hey man, thanks for looking. You have been repified.
I might be able to put you in touch with a couple of different people looking for Wings (depending on who wins the auction).

Re: on Ebay now: Wings of the Valkyrie
Looks like a good adventure' date=' but price is a bit steep now. I'm still buying the current Champions and Hero stuff. [/quote']Hey Jim... just noticed you were in Seattle (like several of us here). Drop me a PM if you like to get together for Hero tabletop or some board games, etc.
And you should check out Spence's Puget Sound Area roll call thread.

Hey Gang,
Auction closes in less than 24 hours.
Get it while it's hot...

Re: on Ebay now: Wings of the Valkyrie
Rep for Log-man and Certified. Thanks for looking!

Re: on Ebay now: Wings of the Valkyrie
With three bids in I wonder what the guesses are for an ending bid. Anyone think it will break 50?I guess we'll see. With items like these they are worth what folks are willing to pay for to some extent.
Thanks for visiting. I'm all Repped out at the moment, but I'll get you later.

Re: on Ebay now: Wings of the Valkyrie
I would never buy something that nice. My gaming books get used...hard. I would feel like a heel to take it out of the shrink-wrap given what great shape its in.If you have a torn up version with only half a cover, though...
Oh, and I looked at it!
I, too, sometimes buy pre-stressed used game items.
In any case... you have been Repified.
(I need to Rep some other people before I rep aylwin again.)

Re: on Ebay now: Wings of the Valkyrie
I have a copy as well' date=' but you guys made me have to look too![/quote']All hail his Hugh-ness... you have been Repified.

Re: on Ebay now: Wings of the Valkyrie
Nice rep by the way. (I have a copy as well' date=' and was just curious.)[/quote']All hail the small and furry one!

Re: on Ebay now: Wings of the Valkyrie
I looked at it. I own a copy' date=' I was just curious about what the initial/Current price was.[/quote']All hail Lord M! (You have been repped.)

Re: on Ebay now: Wings of the Valkyrie
BTW--I will give Rep for your eyeballs.
Just post a reply that you've visited the auction and I will Rep-ify you!

Hey Gang,
My Wings of the Valkyrie auction is up on eBay...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160248522702
This is a Mint copy in shrinkwrap. It's definitely a "collector's copy" and would make a nice addition to anyone's Hero hoard.
Thanks for looking!

From the venerable Champions 2:Man, I still dig the Mark Williams illos.

Re: Wings of the Valkyrie... one more time.
HiMy understanding is that this book is out of print, not been sold by any company and that there are no future plans to re -release it any time soon.
The only place copies are being sold is on Ebay.
On the Dark Champs board i downloaded some out of print Espionage stuff for free, pretty much.
Maybe i'm a bit slow but i don't get the distinction- a hard to obtain product that everyone wants and here i am with a free copy.
In fact, forget about it...it sounds like an awful idea.
GJ:king:
Well, when you've got a game company where the Line Developer is a lawyer, I think a little caution is advised. That's my only point.
There's no reason for sarcasm.

Re: Wings of the Valkyrie... one more time.
Um...OK, That went wrong- was supposed to post link to Wings Of The Valkyrie pdf i have. I'll try again later
Shoot!
GJ
Hmmm...
a pdf?
Do you own the rights to it?

Re: Wings of the Valkyrie... one more time.
True. When Monte Cook auctioned his copy' date=' I managed to get it off eBay for $20. Felt like I had won the Holy Grail of Champions. [/quote']Yes, for many Hero people, it is the last piece of the puzzle.

Re: Wings of the Valkyrie... one more time.
Must confess that I will probably bid on it myself (But will probably not bid high enough for ti...)Well, don't be so sure, you never know with these things. The auction will start on Sunday evening (Father's Day) and end the following Sunday. If you're in the Seattle area we might even be able to work out a local pickup.
I love it when Hero Boards folx win the Hero goodness. Who is more deserving than you guys?

Re: Wings of the Valkyrie... one more time.
Nope, just noticed the thread.I've been fighting the flu all week. Had to take a day off this week and everything
Deanna seems to have the flu, or at least a really bad cold, as well. If it's like hers, you have my sympathy. She's trying to finish up her second year of grad school... and this ain't helping.
BTW--I'm going to assume that you can't see eBay from your work, so when I post Wings this time, I'm going to set it up to end at 7pm PST.
Take care, man.

Gear Krieg is an awesome setting for this sort of thing. I found a pack of technical drawings for Gear Krieg stuff for 1/2 price and grabbed it right up. Very, very cool.
