  1. Re: Is there a running thread for minor corrections on old books?

In this case the team seem to have a running theme, with near identcal technology. Jackhammer and Chainsaw have the same armor, with a different weapon. The End Reserve costs already don't add up for Chainsaw (his costs and values don'e even equal each other, so I assumed it's a typo that he's so low), so I changed Chainsaw to have an END reserve to match his companions. Jackhammer, meanwhile, sticks out for having a different reputation than all the other members, but the text clearly states he and Chainsaw joined together, and always work as a team. That's why I thought it made sense to have identical reputations.

  2. Re: Is there a running thread for minor corrections on old books?

I tried checking Jackhammer and Chainsaw, from the book High Tech Enemies, and they both had numerous problems. For instance, Jackhammer's Multipower has several slots larger than his reserve. Also his Reputation is only 8-, while the whole rest of DC has 11-. His END costs on powers are all wrong. His Jackhammers appear to be OIFs in the illustration (built into the arms of his suit), but they are listed as OAFs in the write up. Chainsaw has the wrong cost for his main weapons, and for some reason the REC on his END Reserve is lower than all the other members of the team.

So correcting the above, I came up with these:

  3. Re: Gravity well power - how to write it?

You are not remembering your physics correctly. Yes a feather and a bowling ball fall at the same rate in a vacuum, but they both fall at a higher identical rate in higher gravity. So yes, if you had x10 gravity, you would fall FAST and HARD. I just wanted to limit on the off chance he uses the power against someone with normal weight and super strength. If, for instance, you used the power on someone who weighed 200 lbs, but could life 50 tons, they would be able to move (although it might break the floor). The power would probably ground most fliers, unless they have super strength.

  4. Re: Quick Question: Tele/Psycho-kinesys visible?

I has a question about heavy lifting with TK. If you buy TK with area effect, and say it normally lifts 10 tons, would it lift 10 tons PER HEX? So you could lift a 30 ton truck, at long as it takes at least 3 hexes of space... It wouldn't do increased damage or anything, but it would lift more weight if the object is larger. This came up when I was converting Quasar from Marvel Comics to Champions rules, since he once lifted an island. Way more weight then he should be able to lift for the amount of damage his TK would do with a punch, but if it was area of effect TK, used strictly for lifting large objects, he might be able to pull it off. This would also work for the Turtle in Wild Cards, since he once lifted a large ship from the water. No way his TK STR could have handled it, but it did because it was a large object?

  5. Okay, there is a character in a comic book I just read with the ability to make localized gravity wells. Basically in a area they can increase gravity's pull by 10 times, usually pinning his opponents to the ground or if they are falling, increasing the falling damage.

I was thinking telekinesis with 1 advantage and 2 limitations:

    A1 - Area effect radius (+1)

    D1. Only straight down. (-1/2?)

D2. Limited to 10x the weight of the target. (-1/2?)

So even though he may have a STR 50 TK, if he used the power on a target weighting 100 lbs, it would only push down with 1000 lbs (or should that be 900 lbs? since they are already being pushed down 100 pounds by the Earth's regular gravity). A target weighting 200 lbs would be pushed down with 2000 lbs of force, etc... up to the limit of the STR of the Telekinesis.

What would these limitations be worth?

  6. Re: Bygone Champions - Early Editions

Okay, looking at the Hero System Almanac info on converting talents from Justice Inc to 4th editon hero, I finished converting Doctor Arcane (with Hypnosis) and Malice (with her sensitivity and empathy). I also added the Mystic Masters disadvantage Adept to both of them. Seemed appropriate.

  7. This one came out right at 250 points. Great as bodyguards, troops for higher level campaigns, or a powerful villian weapon for low point campaigns. Suggestions welcome.

    MagnaDroid.jpg

From the Star Wars wiki - "The IG-100 MagnaGuard, or Self-Motivating Heuristically Programmed Combat Droid, was an advanced type of battle droid that was manufactured by Holowan Mechanicals and used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Ordered by Count Dooku, the MagnaGuards were designed to be General Grievous's personal bodyguards, although they were sometimes used as Dooku's personal guards or as infantry. "

  8. Re: B1 Battle Droid for Hero 4th.

I could see them having "hydralic leaks" and seem to get their circuity scrambled then reset, so I could see bleeding and stun.

I did remove the swimming and changed the price of the limitation on his language as suggested.

I just did a bigger version as the "Battle Droid AAT" Transformer toy. It's much like his little brother, but 30 feet tall with more weapons and can turn into a hover tank!

Has anyone converted a basic Clone Trooper or Storm Trooper?

  9. Re: Quick Question: Tele/Psycho-kinesys visible?

By the rules I guess it is. I fought my GM on this one and lost once, he made my ring of TK visible when I tried to lift an item from a villian without them noticing.

If you read the issue of New Warriors where the Warriors fights Namor, Namor mentions how these children are fighting him with bubbles and "pink umbrellas" - the pink umbrella being a TK shield generated by Marvel Boy... so I guess his mutant TK is visible. I'd always assumed before that the pink aura was a special effect for the reader... but TK mutant is visible in Marvel.

  10. Re: Question about "classic" Star Hero.

Well, Heromaker MENTIONS Star Hero. However, since Heromaker is basiclly Hero 4.0 rules, it's not really the rules in Star Hero, but it's the rules the the unpublished 2nd edition Star Hero game.

Also, Robot Warriors, which I recently picked up, mentions and has conversions for, Spacemaster.

  11. Re: B1 Battle Droid for Hero 4th.

I was considering removing the swimming all together. It's only listed because it's 0 END.

The stats from the Saga Star Wars RPG has them having slightly above base line human STR. As skinny as they are they are mechanical.
