I was cleaning out my basement today and i stumbled across an old folder of mine. It was from over 20 years ago an in it I found an old Villains & Vigilantes character drawing I had made from a long-forgoten campaign. I no longer have the character sheet, but the drawing has feuled a nostalic need to convert this character to hero.
The characters name is Mercurite. The basic concept is that his body is made up almost entirely of mercury, just like what you find in a thermometer. His human shape is held together by a force field. His obvious powers are : Density Increase, Stretching, Extra run speed, and PD Damage reduction.
I'm busy this weekend, so I won't be making this character until Tuesday at the earliest. In the meantime any input from the creative minds on this board are most welcome. Character design is not my strong suit I'm afraid

Re: The City/Hero Connection
What if there's more than one superhero or team that can claim to be a certain city's protector? Which one gets the "official" nod? Could lead to some interesting rivalries...

Re: Looking for an Organization name
Not anymore, that group doesn't exist in 5th Generation Champions Universe. It has been replaced by a subtler foe: "The Institute for Human Advancement"
Guess I need to get up-to-date. I'll probably break down and buy the new CU soon. Does this new group use the Minuteman robots or something similar?

That would be Genocide

Re: Whatever happened to the Wyvern?
But it's safe to say that the number of "revised" old villains in the future is likely to be small.Damn, I was really hoping for a 5th Ed Classic Enemies, or at the very least a revised Zodiak.

Re: 4th Edition still OK for a NEWBIE?
For only $8? Buy it! After you've played it a bit I'm sure you'll love it and move on to 5th Ed. The basic game mechanics haven't changed much, so it's an easy transition from 4th to 5th ed.

Re: Champions miniatures
Nice work. Given my utter lack of artistic talent I just can't bring myself to maim my Heroclix figures though.

Re: Players not rolling or recording damage
If your players like it then you're golden. I have found that the greatest appeal of the Hero system (in a Champions setting in particular) is that players just love rolling 12d6 + for damage on an attack. The look in a players eyes when a half dozen 6's (or 1's) come up is priceless.

Re: What are the most annoying player habits!
Indecisive, leaderless groups. I once joined a gaming session run by the friend of a friend. I only knew the one guy, everyone else (3 other players and the GM) were strangers. The scene was that terrorists were in control of an airplane and it was parked on the runway. They were demanding to be refeuled or they were going to start killing hostages.
GM: Ok guys, what are you going to do.
Group: We don't know.
Me (Wraith, a ghostlike martial artist): Who is your team leader?
Captain Cold: I am.
Me: Do you have a plan?
Cpt Cold: No
Me: Ok, how about I turn invis and scout the plane?
Cpt Cold: I guess...
Extrapolate this for the entire game session. I never played with that group again.

Re: Generation Ship Campaigns
There are so many otions for this type of campaign. What if the society on the ship was in anarchy but suddenly some of the "original crew" start coming out of cryogenic suspension? Maybe the "frozen ones" (the PCs) are thought of as gods.

Re: So I'm thinking of running a Western HERO scenario...
As long as you disallow resistant defenses and use hit locations your campaign will be plenty lethal. A 2d6 RKA to the head or vitals will be a kill shot more often than not.

Re: "Super" Cities- How many is too many?
In my campaign there are three "super Cities", MC (of course), Hudson City (on the lower end), and New Paris for Europe. Almost every major city has a few heroes and villains, mostly on the lower end (ie Dark Champions) in my campaign. The bigger the city the more supers.

Re: What kind of Star Hero 'teams' are you gaming?
I think I should write a DH article adventure for the Expanse.Yes, you should...
Seriously, I am always looking for good plot hooks and ideas. It seems my "lost in space" heroes have a penchant for piracy. Who knew?

Re: What kind of Star Hero 'teams' are you gaming?
I am about to start a new campaign based on a "lost in space" premise. The PC's have been catapulted through a rogue wormhole (one that appears and disappears seemingly in random places). They are now no longer even in the Milky Way galaxy and have only each other, their ship, and their wits to survive. They will need to find or improvise spare parts, feul, and food (no replicators). I am still working out the details so any suggestions are welcome.
