Re: Get 'em while they're hot! Proditor's Pad V&V conversions closing down
Several Files are DownHow do we get them back?
QM
In general, if they're down, it means I didn't get to finish them up and put them on the page. So unfortunately, the short answer is, we don't get them back.
However if you want to pm or mail me a list, I can double check which ones are really down and which ones are just a technical oopsie.
And Susano, I'll talk to you offline about hosting possibilities.
Thanks guys, be good. No wait, be super!

I'm going to be dropping the V&V to Champions conversions page whenever the hosting runs out (I think it's December, but I don't really remember in all honesty), so if you want a sheet, grab 'em now.
Before anyone asks, I'm not mailing hdc's, I'm not making zips. I'm pretty much out of Champions entirely right now, but I had a couple of requests for stuff over the last couple of months so I thought I'd make sure everyone knew where to get the sheets, and that the clock is ticking.
Be good folks, have fun, save the world, game hard.
EDIT: If a link does not take you to a finished Character Sheet, it means I didn't get to it. And yes, that unfortunately means all of the hdc links are no good.

Re: Champions (Super)Hero Resources
Drive-by update, I moved my V&V page here: http://www.proditorspad.com/
See y'all in another few months.

Re: Monster Island
Aw shucks Lord L, you're gonna make me blush.
Yeah, that one was a real labor of love back in the day. I hammered out the article over a Christmas vacation. If I were going to change anything, it would be to remove the limitations on the defenses. I left that in as a loophiole so you could stun a monster with a big enough normal attack, but they'd be pretty much immune to tanks and what not.
I like the new MI, it has a nice look and a LOT going on! I'll probably be running some fusion of the DH articles and the MI book once I get back to the Champions Universe.

Re: Mayfair DC Heroes to Champions Conversion
Well yes and no. You do need to define your immunities and SE's, but Total Life Support is 45 pts as per FRED pg 197, and that should do what you're trying to do. It does however include self-contained breathing, so you could knock that back to extended.
-
Re: Mayfair DC Heroes to Champions Conversion
That's pretty cool.
I was curious about one thing on Superman though, why did you "double buy" his Life Support immunities? The two all-inclusives should have taken care of all the rest, no?
Still, awesome job.

Re: Portal to mythical Mayan underworld found in Mexico
What if I can only get Danny Elfman? You decapitate him with a lightsaber?

Re: Super Transportation
I forgot, I had one more. Try this on for size.
Lockheed CL-1201-1
Span: 1,120 feet
Gross weight: 11.85 million pounds
Endurance: 41 days:
Reactor output: 1830 megawatts
Crew: 845
Tactical fighters carried: 24
Lift engines for VTOL: 182
I thought I was ambitious when I started making a model of an Airborne Aircraft Carrier. In typical Lockheed-Martin style, they ratcheted the crazy up to a whole new level and made designs for a V/TOL AAC!!! Stick that in your patch and smoke it Nick Fury!

Re: Super Transportation
I found a fun art site that I thought the good Staff Sergeant and others might get a kick out of for some wacky aircraft.

Hopefully that'll get the John Williams' themes started in the back of your heads.

Re: And we're back. V&V to HERO conversion site back up, phase one mostly done.
Hey' date=' glad to see youre using my character sheet design. How's it working out for you so far?[/quote']Awesomely. Which reminds me, could you shoot me a PM so I can properly credit you for the layout? Or do you just want it to be Killer shrike?
I only think he can do the stats' date=' cause the stories are copyrighted to the old V&V publisher... [/quote']Pretty much yeah.
Any chance you'll be able to do DNAgents or T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents' date=' or are they too copy-righty? [/quote']Too copy-righty. I was able to get a "Sure, go for it, just throw the right names around" from Jeff Dee way back for the first version of the page, but that was more for the art, and the stats since the interpertation is kinda fluid. Plus he asked me to put up links to the pdf products, which I was happy to do.

Re: And we're back. V&V to HERO conversion site back up, phase one mostly done.
I got some broken links for the Alone in the Night section; but the sight looks Awesome. That's probably one of the modules that's still under construction...lemme check...
Yeah, it just needs art so theoretically, it should be along soon(ish).
Thanks Chad, added to the growing list.

Drop by and take a look. There are over 250 sheets up currently, with more to come. It's still very much in the testing phase, so only the stuff listed below is live, and even it's not fully complete yet. Feel free to PM me with anything you see that's broken or not right, as well as any suggestions you might have in general.

To forestall the question, no the HDC links are not ready yet, and the main one will probably take a really long time before its ready as that would mean I converted everything.
The main issue is whether or not to include the art honestly, I'm still pondering that one. It's not like it's hard to get, I'm just not sure if I should supply it basically.

Re: inventor skill - what's the point?
I could also be used to do things like Power Stunts' date=' but on a gadgets level.[/quote']QFT. Inventor seems like it functions as the Power skill when applied this way. And what a basic trope, after all, at least once a year a certain billionaire facist playboy rewires some part of his tesselated armored long johns to do something they normally don't do, right?

Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...
Mythos Champions adventure. The heroes are talking to Mister Sprinkles, the super smart Soviet scientist ape who has survived on his own for a week in a compound with a rampaging Shoggoth.
Shatterman: "So how many of you were there originally?"
Mr. Sprinkles: "Three. It was Grigori, Sebastian, and me."
Shatterman: "What happened to the others?"
Mr. Sprinkles: "The Soviet military supplies all troops, even super-powered ones, with two very basic items; A helmet and a pair of boots. This gigantic...thing, oozed around the corner like quicksilver. It reared up and slammed down on Grigori, so that the bottom of his helmet met the top of his boots. Anything in between squirted out the sides on to the walls."
Tigra: "I think I'm going to be sick."
Marionette: "Beat ya to it."

Re: My Halloween game
Thanks bubba.
Update of completed work:
10 page photo journal "Player's Aid" of corridors and rooms of the Nazi Research Base compiled (I mostly used pictures of the interior of the Maginot Line. The irony amuses me.)
1 Page picture/schematic of the Antarctic Snow Cruiser as the team vehicle
Character sheets for the 3 PCs, the NPC Mr. Sprinkles, and the Shoggoth they get to meet later.
General thinking about how things are going to go.
I figure I just have to nail down a few intangibles and possibly add one more baddy and I should be good.

Re: My Halloween game
I have to ask ... is that quote in your sig line from me, or Mattingly? Additionally.Mister Sprinkles?!
Heh, I got the kill the dude with the thing bit from Dave Mattingly's post to the FH board (iirc).
As for Mister Sprinkles, yes. Reason why?
My fiance suggested it here: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1610280&postcount=14 and has no idea it's coming.

Inspired directly by the Mythos Supers thread over here: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68833
I decided I wanted to run something creepy for Halloween, as it's also my best friend's birthday weekend, I decided to pull out several ideas and smash them together and see what I had when I was finished.
So the background:
During the 1930’s, both the United States and Germany advanced in to the field of super-humanity. The US stumbled in by accident according to all accounts, and the Germans got there through dogged persistence. The results were the same though, super powered beings clashed on, above, and below all of the major battlefields of WW 2, and they helped usher in the peace that followed. The one thing you know as a graduate of the Innsmouth Academy, is that you were chosen to be given powers to defend the US from all enemies, foreign and domestic. You were given a series of injections, treatments, and training, and told your origin story. Whether you were bitten by a radioactive wombat or given powers by benevolent aliens, the truth of your powers was to be covered up. As you were told at the time “If the Reds new we could give these powers to any law-abiding Joe like you, those commies would stop at nothing to give it to a bunch of dirty Bolsheviks. Look what happened with the BOMB!"
Now you are an empowered agent of the United States under the extension of the Federal marshal system.
The Plot:
My Cthonic powered superheros are heading to Antarctica to investigate an old Nazi research station in Neu Schwabenland for traces of activity before the dirty Reds get it.
When they arrive, the base is trashed, and there are traces of conflict from several years ago, and more disturbingly, several DAYS ago!!! (Dun dun DUN!!!) Eventually they meet a Giant Talking Silverback Ape in coveralls with the Hammer and Sickle, carrying a gun. His name: Mister Sprinkles.
More to come as I finish the fleshing out.

Re: 40KHero - Space Marine Template
Kudos to anyone brave enough to tackle a 40K conversion. The basics seem simple enough, but the disconnect between the fluff and the rules is scary.
I've read books where a marine lifted the edge of an APC to get it out of a ditch.
Seriously.
I tried doing some conversions and just gave up as I got frustrated between trying to make them reflect the 40k rules, or "feeling" right.
So again, my kudos for taking a whack at it.

Re: THE ULTIMATE BASE -- What Do *You* Want To See?
The government keeps putting me on "watch lists" when I start researching things like this. What's worse' date=' federal law requires [i']me[/i] to supply coffee to the FBI agents parked outside my house! And they always want extra creme and sugar. I hear ya.

Re: THE ULTIMATE BASE -- What Do *You* Want To See?
Oh, how about a generic nuclear missile silo/bunker?
It could be used for Modern, PAH, Supers, etc. Also, it's a lot more contained than say a grands ouvrages of the Maginot line.

Re: What-If (WhIf) Setting Resources
I recommend watching the part 2 of the Alternate World War II clip btw. 10 minutes of fun IMHO. And, he scored part of it with Mars. Any devote of Venture Brothers knows that this instantly makes anything 150% better.

Re: THE ULTIMATE BASE -- What Do *You* Want To See?
This may be too late, but under modern bases, possibly part of the Maginot Line?
