  1. Re: Suicide Girl Yeah, but that kind of nullifies any point to the character. She's a walking plot point and brings a lot of potentially interesting background to the table. Take away that and she's just a blaster with a weird trick.
  2. Re: Teleporter - Only With those low costs, it might be worth it to add Damage Shield on top of that. Every time the brick tries to punch you, he gets teleported facedown into the nearest sewer.

  5. Re: Immunity to Electric Attacks Some people use various Desolid builds to simulate total immunity, but it requires some house ruling and always feels like a kludge. edit: Er, yeah. Hit post too late.
  6. Re: Extremely high Charactaristic used in REQUIRES SKILL ROLL I can't think of any reason to have RSR instead of Activation Roll at the level the skill roll would be at.
  7. Re: How to build an unusual attack FRED, p376. Separate attack rolls for each target. For one, your way wouldn't even work, since each target would have an entirely different DCV to work with. Even Sweep/Rapid Fire doesn't work that way.
  8. Re: Cat Burgler's Glasscutter I Win Button: EDM from present dimension to a dimension functionally identical except that you've already won
  9. Re: Teleporter - Only I have a character like this. She can only teleport herself, but she can do so quickly and precisely, so aside from the teleport itself she has a bunch of OCV and DCV levels that cost END, to represent zwee-fighting, as well as a 'sucker punch' HA linked to her 'port. She has Stretching/does not cross intervening space. Most of her effectiveness, though, is centered around her already having been a badass normal before she got her powers. You might want something like Flying Dodge that you can use with your teleports. Another power that might help a squishy type, which I've used extensively: Close Call: +1 (or more) SPD, Only to Abort to Defense (-1)
  10. Re: Duplicator without Duplication You're gonna be hemorrhaging END, though. I'm still not sure AoE TK wouldn't work better.
  11. He should buy it as an Organization contact
  12. Re: Duplicator without Duplication Nonresistant on the FW makes it kind of useless. You can't throw bodies in front of knives or bullets? I would go with TK instead of Flight UBO... but then, you already have Stretching + Extra Limbs. So I'm not sure what you're doing there. Those points aside, nice work! I love this sort of high-concept stuff.
  13. Transform is always the best way! Transform: Glass to glass with a hole in it.
  14. Re: How to build an unusual attack Don't try to convert mechanics; different systems have entirely different goals and often don't intersect meaningfully. Convert behavior in the narrative/setting. What does the power do? Is 6d6K an appropriate amount of damage? Compare to characters in your campaign and the object table; 21 BODY (the average roll on 6d6) vaporizes a normal human, totals an unarmored car, and can wear down a tank. 3 BODY (the average on 1d6) injures a human, scratches a car, and is entirely ignored by a tank. Say you spread your 6d6K RKA across six hexes; that lets you hit six targets if they're close together, but reduces your damage to a mere 4d6K. 14 BODY (the average on 4d6) will kill a human but leave a body, leave a car smashed but not totally wrecked, and bounces off a tank. If you want to target six guys in different directions or far apart from each other, or to be precise about targeting, selective AoE might be a good bet.
  15. Re: How to build an unusual attack Effects don't scale linearly. A 6d6K can put holes in battleship plate and level small houses. A 1d6K won't get through a good kevlar vest and might not bust the lock on a modern door. Don't be so hung up on the numbers; be aware of what they represent. If you want to be able to use the same attack to hit multiple targets, just use the rule that lets you spread RKAs. Done.
  16. Re: Improved Critical Hit +X CSLs, only to increase damage/DCs.
  17. Re: Help .. I need help writing up this power Adapting an adaptation seems like taking the long way around. By the way, someone already started a thread on this subject a while back, though it didn't get very far.
  18. Re: Suicide Girl Yeah, this is one of those weird cases where you can have a 650-point power that's only 'interesting', and a 30-point power that turns it into 'absolutely abusive'.
  19. I had the idea for this power, so I wrote up a whole character just to showcase it. Wow, it's expensive; it has more active points than some nuclear missles. Given the scars of various ages on her, it probably wasn't the first time. No ID, no family, no police records, and she wasn't talking much sense herself. She probably would have stayed there, but for her power manifesting during a repeat suicide attempt. She'd gotten ahold of a sharpened piece of metal from somewhere or other, and was about to cut her wrist open before orderlies came in to stop her. Suddenly, one of the orderlies started bleeding from the same place she had cut. Surprised as anyone, Jane Doe cut herself a few more times, experimentally, seeing the orderly spontaneously manifest identical wounds. She held the orderly hostage in such a way to get out, after which she disappeared for a while. Weeks later, there was a report of a gas station being held up several states away by a woman who caused cuts on the attendant by holding a razor blade to herself. The reporters dubbed her 'Suicide Girl'. Personality/Motivation: If Jane Doe remembers her past or her real name, she's not telling, and no one who knows her has stepped forwards. She's clinically depressed and bipolar, so it's hard to even ask. Mostly she just uses her body to get by, whether by committing petty robberies with her power or... other things. She's easily pushed around, and anyone who wants to use her power for their own advantage could probably talk her into it. Quote: "Was it as good for you as it was for me?" Powers/Tactics: Suicide Girl's one and only superpower is the ability to psychically link her body with another in such a way that any injury to herself is reflected on that body. If she were to cut her wrists, your wrists would bleed also. If she were to slice open her throat, or stick her head in a wood chipper, you'd probably die. Broken bones, blood loss, organ damage... it all gets shared. Of course, she has absolutely no extraordinary ability to recover from or mitigate injury herself, so she can be the perfect assassin - exactly once. She can link herself to anyone she sees, and the link will persist until she wills otherwise, but there seems to be a range of a few kilometers, give or take, beyond which it simply will not work. The 'lockon' to a new target takes only a moment's mental attention, and the effect occurs automatically whenever Suicide Girl is injured. Her favored tactic is to link herself to her opponent, or someone important, and then use her straight razor to cut herself somewhere obvious to make clear what is going on. She then holds herself hostage until she gets what she wants. She's not far-thinking enough to conceive of it herself, but a good use of her power might be to give herself a mildly lethal injury, like an arterial bleed, while having advanced medical attention or even supernatural healing on standby to allow her to carry out assassinations without dying. Her power only works on living things, so robots, inanimate objects, and the undead are safe from her. Other things without minds or souls might be immune also, and cyborgs are only affected in their organic parts. Campaign Use: She's crazy, but not evil. Her power is incredibly useful given the right plans and resources, which makes her a target for villains wanting to take advantage of her. She's almost a macguffin. Sympathetic heroes will want to rescue her from her life of villainy and get her treatment for her mental illness; others might just want to get with a hot goth chick. Either way, she's a point of interest. Appearance: Gothy gothy goth goth. She has lots of cutting scars in various places. The straight razor is one of those nice old-style folding dealies and it is very sharp.
  20. Re: teleporter attacking fliers Nightcrawler does this all the time. I can't think of any problem with it. If you want to get into the nuts and bolts of why it's physically impossible, that's your business, but it's going to be a long day.
