  1. Re: Affects Desolid If you build it as an EGO Attack, it'll work on even Desolid characters. Of course, then it won't work on robots or inanimate objects... I can't remember if Drains and other Adjustment powers bypass Desolid. Of course, you could always discuss the matter with your GM and see if you can waive the active point cap for the purposes of this one advantage only; it probably balances out the limitations of needing a shadow to do your stuff. However, I don't see that it's going to come up a lot unless your GM really likes to use Desolid. Most forms of Desolid won't have shadows anyway; turning into mist or becoming a translucent spirit form, and probably some others, like the energy form you mention. I don't know for sure that it's worth having headaches over something that's going to come up maybe once or twice in your entire campaign.
  2. Re: A Comeliness for Every Sense Group "Kid, you've got a face for radio."
  3. Re: Defences against the stun of KAs The obvious solution is to build humans with limited DEF. -1/4, not against lethal attacks, anyone?
  4. Re: A Comeliness for Every Sense Group Expensive Perfume: Aid to Smell-based COM 1d6, 12 charges, OAF Fragile Independent (spray bottle)
  5. Re: Cybernetic Telepath - Naming Powers Can you do the invisibility trick with Mental Illusions? I'll have to reread the powers chapter.
  6. Re: Cybernetic Telepath - Naming Powers Mind Control: Root Access, Process Exploit Telepathy: File Decryption, Data Search Mindlink: Instant Messenger Mental Illusions: Video Editor, 'Shop Cortex;you might be able to use the same names as for Mind Control Mental Defense: Bucket Filter Ego Attack: Buffer Overflow, Syn Flood, DOS Attack, Soft Reboot, (if Damage Shield) Black ICE/Attack Barrier The obvious defenses for a non-telekinetic mentalist are DCVs and Combat Luck based on telepathic prediction and slight manipulations to opponents' actions and perceptions.

    Aekis

Re: Aekis In a 250-point game, he might be a pretty reasonable character, actually. Depends on the campaign guidelines. But yes, I would smack the hell out of any player that tried to pass that EC by me. This sort of thing is one of the reasons I generally just disallow ECs altogether.
  8. Re: independent power supply? Multipower with REC and extra END for the reserve as ultra slots, and a limitation that you can only switch slots by disconnecting or reconnecting the power supply?
  9. Re: Safeguard (Supehero & Patron) Also, you seem to be pretty enamored of Gratuitous Capitalization. What's Up With That?
  10. Re: Safeguard (Supehero & Patron) Looking at his character sheet, his two main abilities are wealth and... I'm not sure what the multiform is supposed to represent, but it seems like his largest power in terms of active points. Neither is very well-defined. So there's not much to talk about. He's rich, and you say he has some sort of psychic powers, but the only real power on his sheet is undefined. He has a very vague background, which you describe in a paragraph as being "psychic philanthropist".
  11. His signature move: the Flying Guillotine! Awesome! Now I need to write up a new villain: the Hangman Glider!
  12. Re: Question on Power Effect I've used the same type of build for a teleporting 'speedster'. It should work fine.
  13. Re: Knockback "realistic"? If the attack 'logically' wouldn't do KB, buy it with the Limitation "No KB".
  14. Re: Lower Water and Part Water How much BODY does a hex of water have?
  15. Re: Black Widow (250 Points) Hell, you could even simulate autofire by spreading the EB. I know I have some build somewhere of a huge autofire attack simulated by AoE Reduced Penetration on a high number of dice.
  16. Re: Side Effect: Distraction Or, you know, you could just regulate builds in your game. I don't let 500-point supers characters buy 60d6 energy blasts, either.
  17. Re: Project 275 Power Armor Hero: Warbird for review I like it. Short, sweet, simple.
  18. Re: How do I build "Natural Combat Abilty" from HU? The conceit is that he gets stronger against stronger opponents, right? So give him some combat abilities (CSLs, DCs, even DEX, maybe) with Limitations based on the skill of his opponents. When his opponent is badass, he 'copies' their skills and therefore becomes more badass himself. I've always thought this was a dubious sort of power anyway. Being able to copy your opponent isn't much good for beating them. At best, you match them; at worst, your opponent now knows your current fighting style inside and out and knows all the appropriate countermeasures.
  19. Or just fly into orbit and use your laser vision on the entire continent The great thing about superpowered combats is that you can just rearrange the local cover if you think the fight is going too slowly.
  20. Re: Stats for barbed wire Barbed wire can still tear the hell out of a guy if he runs or falls into it real good, or if he's not wearing thick clothing. Razorwire will cut a dude up, though, hardcore. It's what they're using more and more now.
  21. Re: Coon the Cursed It's more common in the south, and it's much, much less defensible when applied to a 'person', even if it's an imaginary furry person. Just warning you. I'd give you the same advice if you made an asian character called Yellow Peril. It's still offensive even if you don't understand why.
  22. Re: Coon the Cursed You could possibly think of changing the name. Aside from being, well, kind of silly, it's pretty offensive to anyone who is black, or who has a black friend, or who cares about racial slurs at all.
  23. Re: Character: Wraith Combat Luck (only vs foes who know fear, -1/2). Also, Passion from Euroguard (Digital Hero ish 31) has some DCV levels with similar special effects.
