Re: Alternate Sexualities in Champions and Supers settings The only thing that came up in my search was a review for an 80s movie and based off a quick wiki reading I think I'd throw that into "dealing with the devil" as opposed to tantric magic per say. Personally I don't have a problem with either no matter which gender; in theory at least. However as with most things, it all depends on the execution.

Re: World-building: When what works for the heroes works for everyone? People will tend to get sick less often and live longer, so I imagine that legal limits based on age will be somewhat higher and medical knowledge might actually be less advanced.

That is one of the reasons why I have a hard time deciding whether any given character should be "magic" or "cosmic" in nature considering that I tend to treat my magical theory as basically the same as an extra-dimensional cosmic power wielder. But with that said, personally I don't mind a campaign having a single or perhaps dual origin for superpowers, it adds a feel of consistancy in my opinion.

You post this without irony in a thread about FTL neutrino measurements? *chuckles* You do realize that you've just made what is perhaps the most damning argument against your side of all don't you Old Man? You see, the problem is this; at each step of the theory of climate change we've been told with much alarm about how we are all going to die unless we drastically change our lifestyle for the worse. I fully expect that in the next several decades after the current theory of man-caused climate change has been "refined" and "adapted" (I.E. Discounted.) based off of new data and understanding there will be a whole new crop of Chicken Littles screaming about some new way in which we are all going to die unless we do 'x'. Oh, and before I forget, we should be celebrating the fact that humanity is now seven billion strong!

Re: Sustained Modes ala "Dragon Age" Well, in Dragon Age, it is mostly to keep a character from using all of his "modes" at the same time, but to be fair, wearing armor does the same thing as a balance issue. (Just a minor clarification, the END spent doesn't come back instantly once the power is turned off, it recovers normally.) For my purposes, I imagine that the power in question "weaves" mana around the character which in turn interfers with additional spells.

I was thinking about how best to simulate a sustained power ala Dragon Age, ect... For those who haven't played the game, they would cost END to activate (The END cost does not recover while the power is being used.) as well as make all other none sustained powers cost more END.

Well something else to think about is that if I'm remembering correctly, the do-dad that was used to test humans for "minbari souls" was created/belonged to Sinclair/Valen in the first place... Been along time since I watched the show however so I could easily be misremembeing.

Re: Science: Particles seen moving at FTL speeds (CERN) One of the things that I've learned over the years is this; always watch people who want to limit the scope of relevant data that is looked at. I mean seriously, the climate on this little dustball has been changing practically since we had an atmosphere, including cycles which appear to measure in the thousands of years but yet you only want to look at what appears to be the latest bit of change and make a causation claim using the tiniest sliver of time.

All very true, which is one of the many reasons why I simply roll my eyes when various droughts are heralded as being "proof" of man caused Global Warming. Hmm, as for showing me the proof I've asked for, I simply don't think you can because as far as I can tell there hasn't been anywhere which hasn't suffered a change in rainfall in ... oh let's see, we need a long enough timeframe to determine whether we are looking at natural events or something human caused but yet short enough that we don't get caught up in trying to discount the effects of the plates shifting.

Re: Avian Aliens I personally would question the natural lifespan given that it is my understanding that birds tend to have fairly active metabolisms. Of course, if there is a campaign reason for the long lived critters there isn't really anything to prevent them from having invented some fountain of youth drug, and I suspect bio-corps throughout known space would be trying to adapt the research to other species. Adventure Seeds abound...

Thank you for your service McCoy, perhaps I should have been clearer in what I meant but your answer doesn't really address the issue I'm trying to touch because when you signed up in addition to the benefits of serving you knew that there was a chance that you would be called upon to pay the ultimate price for freedom. I'm asking about who you would actually stone cold die for, not who you would risk death for. Maybe it's true that the answers to both questions are the same for you in which case I think you are perhaps a more moral person than most.
