  1. Re: 6v1 Even Fight Why not? It's not hard - just say no. If that's what you want, anyway.
  2. Re: Galactic Champions Hey, thanks! Well, despite the unfortunate lack of Foxbat , this sounds good to me. Hehe. I had been thinking about creating a new (the second guy in LL's post) for the GC timeline, or even letting a player do so. Looks like there might be no need to, now. A few more questions, if I may... How many new villains and heroes are there? What are they like? Which of them has the most points? And how many points does s/he have?
  3. Re: Galactic Champions So is Mechanon (and Defender?) the only familiar face in this book or are others from the modern-day Champions universe out there as well?
  4. Re: Steve, you dirty boy! Reminds me of the D&D idea I once had, namely creating a layer of the Abyss that would be a perverted reflection of the L5R setting (Rokugan). 'cause, you see, the emperor of Rokugan is/was named Hantei XXXVIII - which inspired me to come up with the idea for a demon lord with the name of Hentai XXXVIII.
  5. Re: Why does Nighthawk always get depicted getting the crap kicked out of him? The cover of Gadgets & Gear has Nighthawk - unharmed. Hm. He's probably just getting ready for a night of crimefighting and getting his butt kicked.
  6. Re: Alignment Test: Champions Villains Foxbat - CN (effectively) Mechanon - CE Grond - N or maybe CN
  7. Re: Hellboy Write-up By the way, Michael Surbrook has also done a Hellboy writeup on his site. Maybe you'll find it interesting. Not sure whether it considers the movie, if that's important; I know very little about Hellboy beyond the basics...
  8. Re: Aberrant Conversions:The Elites There's a non-rolled alternative system in the Player's Guide that you could use as a benchmark. Under this system, Totentanz would get a 8 soak if he pays the standard cost for using a level 2 power (i.e., 2 quantum points) and can buy up to 10 more points of soak by spending 1 quantum point per 2 additional soak. I.e., he can get an 18 soak from the force field if he's willing to spend 7 quantum points.
  9. Re: Exalted Conversion:Harmonious Jade I've thought a little about Exalted conversions as well... Yours is very good IMO. A few points I've thought about (YMMV, of course): Exalted Attributes to HERO Characteristics I'd start by multiplying by 5 and maybe modifying a little where necessary. Perception (and Awareness Ability) in excess of Intelligence would convert to PER with all Sense Groups. I.e., pretty much like you did it. However, while I'd also make NCM the default, I wouldn't cap Characteristics at 20. Instead, I'd go with NCM costs, making increases half as effective for the same cost. Therefore, I'd calculate HERO Characteristics for WW Attributes>4 in the following way: HERO Characteristic = 20 + 5*(WW Attribute -4)/2. Rounded in favor of the character, generally. Taking Harmonious Jade's Dexterity (5 in WW) as an example: HERO DEX = 20 + 5/2 = 22.5, rounded up to 23. HERO Body I'd give characters with high Stamina a little additional Body. Maybe half as much as for CON, or a little below that - say, Body 12-13 for Harmonious Jade. 'cause apart from Health Levels (which characters can only raise in supernatural ways), Stamina is the primary way to measure a person's physical hardiness in Exalted. Also, giving most characters converted from Exalted a 10 BODY in HERO just seems a little low to me. Also, HERO has much greater flexibility than the ST system so I'd might as well put it to good use. Not sure how to convert Extras' health levels, though. Maybe with some kind of Vulnerability to the Stun and Body of all attacks? Or else with about 1/2 as much Body as I'd give a Heroic character? BTW, you might want to give her an orichalcum breastplate (per Artifact Background / equipment list in CB: Night) or other light armor so she has *some* protection.
  10. Well, not sure how to construct the others, but I think Transfer wouldn't help much in any case. As far as I know you can't Transfer what's not there so Transfer only helps take Luck from characters who have Luck (i.e., levels in the power). But most people probably don't have Luck levels. Your idea is interesting but I still think Luck with Charges would be easier to build (see Derek's and my post for an idea).
  11. I'd build his "luck trading" as Aid Luck with Charges that Recover Only Under Limited Circumstances (as suggested in Fantasy HERO, p.130). That is, the Charges don't refresh daily but instead only when the character fulfills the conditions. Depending on whether he usually regains Charges more quickly or more slowly than Charges are usually regained, this decreases or increases the worth of the Limitation: Charges. His normal, unboosted luck is simply Luck, of course.
