Old Man, you may want to check out these two trade paperbacks.

    • The Conan Chronicles Vol 1 (ISBN 1857989961)

    • The Conan Chronicles Vol 2 (ISBN 1857987470)

An interview with the editor of the books is here: http://www.barbariankeep.com/cnchron.html and according to it, they are pure REH no pastiches and also contain uncompleted fragments etc. If you woul like any other information, just ask (I have both).
  2. My case for the V'han.

Aren't you guys forgetting the talent section of the judging? V'han is great at ordering minions around, but have you ever seen her try to clog dance? Forget it.

I disagree I beleive she is highly underated in the talent section, see below.

It would seem V'han is the beauty queen of the CKC with the highest score. Can't say the drawing quite supports that, but hey

Hermit you are quite right. Istvatha V'han is Empress of a Billion Dimensions and also brought the perk "Beauty Queen of a Billion Dimensions". The reason she doesn't look good in her picture can be easily explained. Not only did Steve forget the Beauty Queen perk in her writeup, he also forgot the limitation on her high COM "only on subjects" or is that an Aid on her COM (hmm).

To us, who have yet to fall under her heel, she appears, well, uninspiring; but when she conquorers us (Crazed Reptilian Conquorer, lemming, and Nemesis weilding The Bat as our only defensive bloc -- see NGB) our tune will change instantly. All of a sudden she looks damn hot and is a uber-babe of Eliza proportions, not to mention that this petite Empress also handles her own uber-huge assets...if you know what I mean ::raises eyebrows::. Definately something for Foxbat to consider...carefully.

And she didn't become Empress of a Billion Dimensions without (1) absorbing all the cultures of those dimensions or (2) replacing them with her superior culture. This brings me to the talent part of the contest. She wins...easy. As Empress she is the apothesis of her realm's culture. She sings and orates, she tap dances, she shakes her petite booty and well as flexes her considerable muscles -- all things Foxbat should also consider. She also raised the most money for charity last year (all donations went for HER charity), another part she would score highly on. But is this enough to win? I say yes.

Foxbat should expect two outcomes of his latest scheme: (1) Istvatha V'han is declared unaminously the winner or (2) Foxbat becomes one or her hunteds. And in case "2", when Foxbat is captured by Istvatha V'han, he has the unfortunate pleasure to buy the perk "sex slave of the Beauty Queen of a Billion Dimensions". Think of Leia in her skimpy outfit at the beginning of Return of the Jedi as pawn of Jabba, but this is Foxbat's fate instead. Truely. Especially as he is now one of her harem of billions (V'han doesn't think in puny numbers like 'millions' or lesser). Not the most glorious outcome for ol' Foxy but since now he is her subject, V'han's limitation on her COM no longer applies :).

This concludes my case for Istvatha V'han to be declared winner of this beauty contest. And if Foxbat is lucky, Istvatha may grant him the rare priviledge to star in his own comic book -- "Toy Boy".

If they do I beleive there should be some limitation. 1 post = 1 character point. Or they write themselves up as a standard super and then add their post count as bonus points. Sounds fair.

I agree. and I also think that the Squadron Supreme was brilliant.

Can you (or anyone else) remember the Squadron Supreme fought the Avengers with Captain America in the team?

    Talking about Bat and Caps.

Thor can shrug off a Karmic Blast like it was a 9d EB. I believe it was in the Blood And Thunder storyline.

Warlock also mentioned he hated fighting Thor 'cause he had stomped his butt back when Adam was Him (not to be confused with Her or even It, the Living Colossus)

Apparently, Warlock found Asgardians to be more fortified than most against a karmic assault.

I'd have to reread The Blood & Thunder storyline to comment on the Karmic blast. I'd haphazard a guess and say the reason Asgardians are less susceptible to karmic blasts is because on their inherent warrior-born battle-rage trait.

You'd think he'd have figured out Odin hated him years ago.
I don't think that is the case. I think it was because Odin did love him both as a father and heir to the throne of Asgard that Odin gave him the mortal identity of Dr Donald Blake. If indeed Thor was headstrong as his brief childhood glimses suggest, then I'm with Odin that it was a necessary action. Of course one can't predict the outcome of an experiment like that :)

Of course, Thor believes talking eyeballs are a good source of information, too. :)
Let's not go there ;) But I think Walt pretty much cleared that up with his version of Odin's origin. Bad writers can do evil things to good characters (and giving the benefit of the doubt to the writer as I've not yet read that storyline).

LL, depends if it is hardback, and the height it is dropped from, but your point is made :D. And I'm looking forward to Sidekick.

on topic: Yamo, as others have said, Gaming is a hobby and should be fun, if is is not longer fun then why play? If whatever system you use brings the fun factor up do it.

You aren't gonna loose the friends here just because you're now playing a different game. You can still contribute to HERO discussions, offering advice on ways to build things etc.

I'm still not sure whether that all disappeared so quickly out of design from the start, or because Marvel abruptly realized how lame much of it was and ditched it.

LL, Correct, that version is from Heroes Reborn. As I remember it, the whole Heroes Reborn "maxi-series" was Marvel's way of screwing the fans to appeal the characters to Hollywood types. If judging from X-Men, X-2, Spider-Man, Hulk and Daredevil, from Marvel's point of view Heroes Reborn was a sucess. From a fanboy point of view, there were bits in there I thoughly enjoyed.

I like Scott's interpretation of the "worthy" quoted below:
