  1. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Just a quick note... Last night was a rather bad... first I started the server, then my cable modem took a dump instants after Solron connected (hey maybe it's not us... maybe he is just curseing us ). It took me almost an hour to get the stupid thing reset and reconfigured. When it went down it was like dominoes. The cable modem went offline, and knocked my wireless router offline, which nocked my wireless NICs offline... Once I got the cable modem reset, then I had to reset the router, and then I had to reboot every computer in my network (There are 4 laptops, and the big desktop). WHAT A PAIN Once online I found that GA was also having connection issues (I already knew about Nol). I am assuming Merovign will not be joining us for a while since he moved. That left us 3 down, so instead of running we just had a short gab session. We started discussing development of characters for Echoes of Heaven. I will run Dark Matter next week if we have a qourum. The following two weeks are Christmas and New Years Day respectively, so I expect we will be adjourning until the first Thursday in January following and hopefully Nol is up for more GA action ( I still want to shoot Dar Gredick in the face). SInce Nol is switching to MT, now would be the most opportune time to upgrade from 1.3b45 to 1.3b48. Some of the Hero macros have already been updated to take advantage of the streamlined code. B48 is also more stable and faster than B45 on the client side. One great new thing (once we get the macros built) is in B48 you can select tokens to target and BLAMMO... MT automatically applies the damage to the token. Saves lots of book keeping on the GM end . I will send Nol a copy of my Hero Base Campaign file containing a generic token with all of the current Hero macors that have been developed. That way we can both use the same campaign properties and macros. I will also place my MT server online each weekend from Sat night around 6-ish until Monday nights around 4-ish so that anyone that want to can log in and work on Macros. We need to do this so that your tokens and their macros have access to the campaign properties in use while being developed. Once you are done, in order for your topken image to show up, you MUST send at least a copy of the image (but preferably your send both the image and the seperate token file) to Nol or myself, which ever is hosting the server. I hope we get a chance to play on last time before years end, but if not I want to wish everyone a merry Christmas
  2. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign I am preparing to run tonight, in case Nol is either not able to play, or is not ready to run, however be warned that what I have ready may be sparse. I will open the server around 6-ish.

  4. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign How is your mom doing, I hope she is alright.
  5. Re: Dark Matter Rising First... I am glad your mom is on the road to recovery... I wish her well Second... The server is up, as to whether we are playing, I plan on running

  8. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign MT Build 1.3b47 is out and has some major stability enhancements. They have tweaked it so that connected clients have a noticable speed increase. Campaign files going back to 1.3b42 are backwards compatible. One of the reviewers had a 32 mb map loaded with no glitches during a several hour game session. The new macro syntax has gained some great additional capabilities which allow macros to be nested (at least one level deep, but maybe more I am not sure). We can now do macro that can call other macros. And I am not 100% sure how thay work, but we can create macro lib files that hold macroized data, which can be called like complex variables. If this last one works like I think it works, we can build for example a skill lib file containing each hero skill and the base roll formula. On your token you would simply build a list which calls thr formula for a given skill and adds your character modifiers, then rolls and displays the results. Brad is going to hold off on any further development of Hero macros until the final stable release for version1.3x, then he will rebuild everything using the latest and greatest for our macros. I have downloaded a Hero explosion macro. It works with our current mt version, I want to play with it then I'll ad it to the Hero base campaign file I am compiling. Once brad rebuilds the macrso for the final stable release, he is going to add a power builder macro in a similar vein as he did the skill builder, and the attack builder. I think we should stay with 1.3b45 for the time being unless there is a compelling reason to upgrade, everything seems to be fairly stable and working OK.
  9. Re: Dark Matter Rising Brad finally cobbled together the macro tutorial videos. They show how to build you macros using his "builder" macros... which just tickles me, using macros to build macros Here are the links... http://www.rptoolstutorials.net/random/genbuilders/genbuilders.html http://www.rptoolstutorials.net/random/attackmacrosp/attackmacrosp.html
  10. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign In MT you can set your tokens facing by right clicking and then select set facing. The option is at the top of the menu. I am inclined to vote for MT but will go with the group... Terrie prefers ORPG as she is more used to the interface.
  11. Re: Dark Matter Rising We only ran for a short bit after you left. Then I did a quick.... Cliff Hanger However I think we can wrap this arc in one more session if all goes well. 2 at the most. A quick update, The fire is out, and Agent Tanner and Jack have re-joined the group, only to discover that at least 3 people have disappeared, Officer McDermott, One of the Truckers, and Kayla aren;t in the room with the group.
  12. Re: Dark Matter Rising Here is Jane McDermott
  13. Re: Dark Matter Rising The server is up...
  14. Re: Dark Matter Rising I have not heard anything firm. From his posts I am assuming he is only interested in playing during the DM sessions and even then he is only available every other week. He has stated he iis not interested in GA, which is too bad, as I am looking forward to shooting a certain AI type robot in his metallic ding ding
  15. Re: Dark Matter Rising What he said
  16. Re: Dark Matter Rising I got your note about the weapons... did you send something else?
  17. Re: Dark Matter Rising Sorry again guys... Once in a while I get these really intense migraines, nausea, blurred vision, intense pain, not very pleasant. I am feeling a bit better now, but for a while there I just wanted to be put out of my misery. I am ready for this coming Thursday... I have not heard anything further from KillerShrike, but if I do he might be joining our group.
  18. Re: Dark Matter Rising Guys, I hate to do this, but I am gonna have to call tonights game. I am sick as a dog. I will see you all next week.
  19. Re: Dark Matter Rising We meet from 7 to 11 MST. We just went off of Daylight Savings, but I think PST is one hour behind us, so figure 6 to 10 PST. Nolgroth can confirm this, he is one of those west coast liberals We will be skipping the week of Thanksgiving. Also, Nolgroth and I have worked out a rotation where we swap GMing/games between story arcs. He is due to pick up his game possibly sometime in early December. I beleive he is going to run the Gemini Ascendant campaign when we start that one up. it is an epic space opera using Star Hero. Swapping back and forth between story arcs will hopefully give both of us a chance to play and some breathing room to work on the details of the next story arc for our respective campaigns. The details and history of the Gemini Ascendant campaign can be found in the Star Hero forums...
  20. Re: Dark Matter Rising Shrike, if you would not mind me running your character as an NPC occasionally during your absence (if the story supports it he would just be busy doing somthing else most of time you aren't there), I can handle one more player. That way you could join us on your free Thursdays if you like. Nolgroth is our other, and more full time GM, and it sounds like he is OK with this as well. If you are interested I would need you to download the HDR linked above and create a character, then send me the HDC file and either a PNG or JPG of what your character looks like. The art work is needed to create your token (the online miniature that GA mentioned). If you don't have artwork, give a good text description and I can create an Image for you. My e-mail is pmbruner@comcast.net
  21. Re: Dark Matter Rising On Terrie's behalf: Kayla Brady is a true prodigy, educated at MIT, she speaks three languages fleuntly and understands most others, and has travelled the world extensivley. She has acted as a consultant for NASA, The NSA, the FBI, INTERPOL, Scotland Yard, The SETI Project, and the United Nations. She has particpated in several expeditions on behalf of both the Science Channel and the History Channel. Think of a cross between Indiana Jones, McGuyver, and Gill Grissom...
