The Cure (a vaccine for AIDS has an extremely contagious and lethal side effects)? The Hivemind Flu (a mad scientist creates a disease which allowes him to mind control the population)?

If I were a GM i'd put those ideas under PANDEMIC as a scenario for your superheroes.

recently I've been studying the RPGs by Fantasy Flight games, the makers of the STAR WARS RPG books currently on sale. This game is called  THE END OF THE WORLD, rpgs in which your PCs face many apocalyspe events threatening the world at large ,the objective is to [a] fight the forces with active resistance till you beat it back and mankind survives or the event happens and you survive the aftermath with either your souls intact or changed by the event. There are three books detailing the events in different modes;

 WRATH OF THE GODS : The Earth is under assault by [1] Nature run wild[GAEA'S Revenge], [2] The Gods of Norse myth[RAGNAROK]

[3]The monster God of the Mayans[RETURN OF QUETZALCOATAL],events as foretold by the BIBLE [ REVELATION],And the creatures from the Cthulu Mythos[THAT IS NOT DEAD]  

ALIEN INVASION: Yes, your classic invasion from space scenarios including:

The little green[or grey ]men from Mars AND their enemies the Red monsters from beyond. [WAR BETWEEN WORLDS]

The Reptillian aliens from ancient times [bROTHERHOOD OF BABYLON]

Remember the plant creatures from INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS?[VISAGES]

Assault by giant insects [Ants to be exact] [sKITTER]

How about the ancient forces of Atlantis?[RISING TIDES]

ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE : Ahh yes! who can forget the old standby from many classic movies and TV shows [WALKING DEAD anyone?]

We have your classic zombie attack influenced  by voodoo possession [iT ENDS WITH A WHISPER]

OR being rejected from the underworld [NO ROOM IN HELL]

OR a radioactive meteorite[NIGHT OF THE METEOR]

OR A parasite underground [uNDER THE SKIN]

OR an outright pandemic[PANDEMIC]

So Here's the Phantom's Challenge; since these three RPG books are available at your local bookstore or library, Study theme and apply these scenarios to your campaign. give your heroes a challenge.

in CGI animation.

You're forgetting one detail Mark m'man: most of the original mousketeers have either retired or, in the case of Annette Funichello died in recent years[the 1980's] so the New mouseketeers have to be present and newer generation.  so you may want to revise the Mouska lineup so to speak. 

I recall correctly that the New Mickey Mouse Club made it's debut in the 1980's with new kids such as Lisa Winchell and Curtis Wong

After recently reading  THE CINDERELLA SOCIETY  by Kay Cassidy I might as well put in some info about TCS for the Champions Universe.

The Society also supports teen superteams  such as the TEEN Champions,TEAM ALPHA, Court Of Dreams,in addition to well established teams such as the CAROLINA KNIGHTS,THE CHAMPIONS of Milennium City,The NYC PARAGONS and the Capitol Patrol of Washington DC.

Their Counterparts, the Wickeds are motivated by Greed and Power lust and delight in tormenting the Reggies,coercing them in doing favors with threats of social ostracising and physical harm.

they're a part of a organization of evil called ATHENA which also have connections with government and organizations like VIPER, GRAB,RAVEN, and DEMON.

There might have connections with big business  in the world and maybe organized crime like the Mafia The Tongs Of China and Japan's Yakuza.

Some of the Wickeds also became villains and nemesi to the Court and the Circle, chief among them is the newest leader of the Wickeds clique Andrea Crusoe,aka the 

Black Enchantress.

Recently I read a little bit of STAN LEE'S DRAWING SUPERHEROES, currently being sold at Barnes & Noble, and it talked about the types of heroes in comics citing SUPERMAN and BATMAN as examples the types of heroes are shown below:

S TYPE HEROES

these heroes have, as a blurb from THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN points out,“powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal man” meaning that s/he is invulnerable, super strong,faster than any plane or spaceship and has a lot of extra powers like laser vision, super hearing, super breath and many other power you can think of. Though the big red “S” [you know who I mean] is the prime example, there many more “S” Type heroes. MALIBU COMICS Prime,Rob Liebfield's SUPREME are example of S types created by experiementation. Fawcett Comics' CAPTAIN MARVEL[or as he's known in th DC Universe,SHAZAM!], Big Bang's ULTIMAN, ASTRO CITY'S SAMARATAN,VICTOR from Hero Alliance,and Dark Horse's TITAN are also best examples.

B TYPE heroes

B type heroes, or costumed adventurers are men and women who are specially trained in crime fighting by using special equipment to accomplish thier means. best examples:

DC's BATMAN, BATWOMAN,NIGHTWING,ROBIN,ARSENAL, GREEN ARROW. MARVEL'S PUNISHER,MOON KNIGHT,DAUGHTERS OF THE DRAGON and MLJ'S/IMPACT'S Black Hood are all best examples.

Introducing the master of Weapons---The WEAPONEER!

Ray Davison is the youngest of the Davison family of heroes,along with his brothers he was trained in the PRIMUS Academy program 

before it was shut down due to infiltration by VIPER.

Always ready with a new weapon or armor for the Iron Guard,he created the Teach-Knight Armor for testing

by his brother and the containment suit that his brother Micheal currently wears as NEON the Living Laser.

When it came to creating his own super identity however, he immediately gathered together all

the weapons that he made into a suit of weapons/armor modules that he can put together into any combination weapon  he  can imagine, which comes in handy when battling bad guys as a Silver  Avenger and the superhero that people of Med City called  THE WEAPONEER!

The Weaponeer is a Gadget/Weapon master amalgamation with a lot of magic thrown in  due to the fact that he has nanotechnology in his suit  and nano-symbiotes in his body.

Think of him as a combo of Marvel's Wolverine and Valiant's Bloodshot with a bit of Dr Strange for good measure.

Personality:Inscrutable with a little attitude to his brothers but some fatherly respect for his nieces and nephews,Rey is often an paradox of personalities.

In battle however he stretagizes like a chess master in a match,making up moves on the fly and targeting his opponents,taking them out in a flash.

Powers/Tatics: The Weaponeer is a living breathing Philosophers' stone with the ability to create weapons or convert base into precious metals with just 

a thought.but his most powerful weapon is his weapons belt which has many components [Think of it as the ultimate utility belt] that create his many weapons.

He Also uses his nano toolbox to create super vehicles from ordinary vehicles or junked machines,which comes in handy when you have a wrecked vehicle.

the following powers come from his weapons below:

Force Field: Reflect any energy blast or slug thrown at him It changes frequency from the energy used against him.

Apmpli-Phaser : Absorbs energy,redirects it at thousand times it's output at the enemy.

Black Hole Beam: Shuts down any power from weapons or superpower and eats away at its source.

AG Field: it enables him to fly at sonic speeds or pin a foe to the ground.

Nano-Darts:  Fires from gauntlet and KO's anyone within shooting range

That's all the powers I can think of.

Appearance : Rey is a handsome ,muscular afro-american male  with curly black hair and light brown eyes and a 5'7 build who wears the latest fashions from Men's Warehouse. His Weaponeer outfit is a yellow chaser and visored helmet over his Silver Avenger uniform.
