    Hey folx! Now that people are playing the game, I figured it would be useful for those of us who frequent the Hero boards to list our heroes here, so perhaps we might recognize one another in-game.

     

    I've created and played the following so far (levels as of 10/07/2009):

     

    Harbinger (40)

    Culverin (17)

    Unsheathed (11)

    Ultratech (8)

    Yellowjacket (6)

    Doctor Arcane (1)

    Steel Scarab (1)

     

     

    Once I figure out how to create a superteam, I'll see about creating one for Hero boards members. ;)

    Attention All Herophiles: Presenting the very first fanfic based on my Champions Campaign. It has drama,action,romance and a bit of comedy and horror mixed in with a bit of anime magic. If you've said "Court Of Dreams", you're right amigos,my Magic girl campaign is now in Fanfiction.net,look for it under 'Champions Online'

    Had a Swiss Cheese Memory moment mark,besides as of the time you've changed Sunspell I decied to give her a second animal companion,Specifically a Legendary Phoenix. Logika's Owl name escaped me from the moment but I know that she's an enchanted screech owl.

    Saphire:Fantisized Sphinx with a Female head and a lion's body with wings;she's the Court's Mentor,kibitzer and counselor.
    LUNA: Celestial Dragon who sometimes takes human form,helps the princess in trouble and advises her on life problems.
    Moony:Fantisized rabbit with Gravity stomping powers and teleportation. Princess :Moon Mystic
    NEEDLE: Baby Phoenix;Charges up Solagem and ring,but a fanatic about pomegranates. Princess: SunSpell

    Sparkle : Glamorized kitten does recon for Sunspell.
    Jungle Max :Rigelian Battle Lion[POwer Rangers Wild Force Giant red lion]also as conselor to lucy.
    Nibbles: Fantized red Squirrel;does recon for the court,spies on enemies and pesters Saphire and the girls with questions theycan't answer. Princess: Animalia
    BUBBLES: Water Thudder:resembles a baby whale with a horn. Princess:Oceana
    Glitter: Fantized Fox,the spirit of the earth ,helps ayane out by charging her gemstone and augumenting her spells. Princess:Evergreen

    Amber: Screech Owl and all around kibitzer for the Court of Animals

    For the benefit of the anime fans who play Hero, what do you guys think would be the most effective way to build a magical girl?

     

    There are several different kinds of magical girl, as anyone who has read one of my books will know. I'm thinking of several of these types, such as the kind who transforms into a colrfully dressed warrior maiden with magical atatcks and defenses, or a thief who uses magic powers to commit her robberies, or the preteen girl who tranforms into a beautiful teenager so she can achieve fame and fortune as an idol singer.

     

    How do you build any of these characters in Hero, and at what point level should you build them?

    Off the cuff I'd build them as Pretty Cure Styled Magic Girl fighters instead of Sailor Moon type magic girls. Let's face it. those ladies and those who follow their example are as dysfunctional as ever. Thier leader 's a ditzy Apathic,lazy crybaby who toughens up and takes down the most evil monsters in a fight with some help from her boy friend Tuxedo Kamen. And don't get me started on WEDDING PEACH.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::tsk::tsk::tsk::tsk:

    Yes, but (classic) Amethyst doesn't have magic on Earth, and in any dimension she would have magic, she ages to her early 20s, so she probably doesn't qualify for Maho Shoujo (the current Amethyst is 17 and stuck on Nilaa, so it's debatable as to wether she'd qualify either. The animated one (Opal curse Cartoon Network for taking off the DC block) probably qualifies, but...). Zatanna (and Raven, for that matter) is a girl who uses magic, which is different from a magical girl.

     

    It's not that DC doesn't have magical girls (pre-CRISIS, we had Lana Lang become Insect Queen occasionally, and the Yellow Peri, but we lost them when Superboy was excised from Superman's history. Jade (Alan Scott's daughter), the Earth-born angel Supergirl and Mary Marvel could qualify, and there's Kwai from Milestone-Earth's Blood Syndicate), but DC (the corporate entity) seems to have developed a severe hatred of 'fun' characters in the past decade and feels that they need to remake them in angst-ier forms. Right now, the closest thing we've got to a Magical Girl at DC is Arisa from Green Lantern (she still has a presence there, doesn't she).

     

    As for how would the JLA react to a Magical Girl:

     

    SUPERMAN: Would not be happy. He wouldn't be mad at the Magical Girl. He'd see her as more proof of the nobility of humanity. But he'd round on Mipple, Meeple, and any other 'mascots' and chew them the Hell out. "How dare you go around recruiting children for your private war!"

     

    BATMAN: Would see the Magical Girl as proof of the determination of the human spirit. He might even treat her with kid gloves (like he treated Halo, another candidate for Magical Girl, in Batman and the Outsiders) depending on how well the writer 'gets' Frank Miller. The 'mascots' though... "Explain to me again why you picked up a preteen girl, gave her the magical equivalent of a gun, and then tossed her out into your private war without any training whatsoever!!"

     

    WONDER WOMAN: Wouldn't be upset with them at all (female empowerment and all that). She would offer to teach them Hand-to-Hand combat skills in case they're ever in a situation where they can't use magic.

     

    GREEN LANTERN: Like I said, Hal knows Arisa, and she's as gutsy as any GL above the age of Majority, so he wouldn't be too concerned about the MG's age (he would be nervous if she tried to flirt with him. Like I said, Hal knows Arisa). And he met the Guardians, and if the mascot doesn't seem as incompetent as the Guardians, he has no problem with them.

     

    FLASH: Barry would be like the Batman. Wally would be on the phone with Dick to see if they could find a spot for her on the Titans (you don't give a preteen the magical equivalent of a gun and the toss her out on the battlefield without any training whatsoever).

     

    MARTIAN MANHUNTER: Would be reminded of his daughter and offer to mentor the MG, and would occasionally check up on them with his shapeshifting powers (it would be interesting for Rei Hino, Shinto Miko to meet Rei Hino, reporter for Daily Planet Tokyo, ne?

     

    AQUAMAN: No idea. Maybe a little of Batman's attitude, but with more gruff.

    OUCH OUCH OUCH___ and Double OUCH!!! That's 3 hits on the Cuteness scale.
