  1. Ah. So adding a dropbox with a list of the characteristics (if they're using a characteristic roll) or the current list of purchased skills (for a skill based roll) is out of scope. Got it. Thanks for the reply. I'll suggest to the Foundry developers they add something of that nature when creating or importing character files.
  2. Using HERO Designer build 20230715. When selecting the "Requires A Roll" (RAR) limitation, and selecting a Skill Roll or Characteristic Roll, how can I specify the Skill or Characteristic to use? I know I can just make a note and do the calculation, but it would be nice to auto-calculate the resulting roll required based on Active Points and the Skill/Characteristic it is based on. I'm also thinking of the upcoming Foundry HERO module and having that information in the character file for automation. Thanks!
  3. Really? I was unaware. Thanks for the information. EDIT: Not sure. According to earlier comments, HDC file import will only be for the HERO Complete (Kickstarter) version, not the HERO Basic version. Does it really matter? Not really. The unofficial version is doing great, I'm just looking for the official version.
  4. I thought this thread and @Legendsmiths was the official version. The one by dmdorman was the unofficial one. And, you are correct, it's coming along nicely. However, I'm interested in the official one.

  7. I'm helping an inexperienced gm with a huge chase scene. Right now, he wants to use maps and plot every moment of the chase out. I want to suggest some kind of chase rules to make \the whole thing less tedious for the players, but I haven't touched HERO in years, so my HERO-foo is weak. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

  9. I want to model waking up sleeping thugs. What I have now is a PER roll at +4 from the warning bell and shouts. If they make it they're at 1/2 OCV and DCV on turn 0, phase 12, and full OCV and DCV on turn 1, phase 6. If not they're 0 OCV and DCV on phase 12, turn 0, 1/2 OCV and DCV on phase 6, turn 1, and full OCV and DCV on phase 12, turn 1. Does this make sense? Entered on my phone.

  11. I wasn't sure if this was the place to ask this question. Assuming I take Averageman (Leaping 4m/2m, height of 2m) can I assume if he leaps 2m off the ground he can reach a ledge 4m up? In other words, are his feet 2m off the ground when he leaps, this assumes a running start, etc. I also assume this scales up for Large characters? Thanks.

This is what I have so far: Staff Of Power: (Total: 45 Active Cost, 14 Real Cost) Endurance Reserve (52 END, 0 REC) Reserve: (13 Active Points); OAF (-1) (Real Cost: 6) plus Absorption 7 BODY (energy, Endurance Reserve REC), Increased Maximum (x2 points) (+1/4), Absorption As A Defense (Resistant; +1) (16 Active Points); Limited Power Power loses about two-thirds of its effectiveness (Only magic; -1 1/2), OAF (-1) (Real Cost: 4) plus Absorption 7 BODY (physical, Endurance Reserve REC), Increased Maximum (x2 points) (+1/4), Absorption As A Defense (Resistant; +1) (16 Active Points); Limited Power Power loses about two-thirds of its effectiveness (Only magic; -1 1/2), OAF (-1) (Real Cost: 4) How can I make a version of this where the body absorbed simply tops off the END Reserve? Thanks.
  13. Re: 5d6 Hero The HERO system has been balanced at the 3d6 level. Using more or less dice will change the balance, honed over, what, 20+ years? Still, it's an interesting idea, just not one that I would use. Just my $0.02. Pax tecum

  15. Re: Autofire Images The DCV w/END cost is much simpler to use and is probibly the best way to do it. It effectively does the same thing, make you harder to hit, with less complexity.

  17. Re: Why Are You Hitting Yourself? The Missle Deflection/Reflection with HTH Only (+0) sounds like the simplest way of doing it. IMO, the VPP option _could_ get too complex. Why complicate things when you have a simple solution available?
