Re: Batman vs Midnighter Midnighter will most likely have Precognitive Aim type ability listed from UNTIL Superpowers database which would give him a +6 to his OCV and Precog Dodge giving him a +8 OCV. He would also possess super strength, and lightning reflexes. CSL of 8 points and nearly all martial arts. Would he have Def. Manuevers? Bat-god (if that's the version we'd use): would have max human potential in nearly everything (so 20s). A Variable Power Pool utility belt that can only be changed outside of combat (i.e. between encounters/scenes) with several set items. However, if he's allowed to have all his gadgets, that negates the VPP and allows him each gadget as a power. He'd have an 8 CSL and most martial arts. Batman would have Def. Maneuver of at least 2. Batman has demonstrated to use Acid capsules, lasers, explosives, batarangs (double as knives), Kyrptonian Tech integrated with Apokolptian stuff and his own business designs. He bluffed Darkseid--he can most likely bluff Midnighter's computer. If it was straight up stats fight...I'd go with Midnighter. However, Batman cheats and uses his entire environment on Midnighter to get the win. Batman doesn't fight straight face to face.

Re: Batman vs Midnighter With the parameters as presented, this battle would depend on several qualifications of those parameters: -What are the stakes? -What gadgets are allowable as available? For stakes--that comes down to sheer will and drive of both men. If any gadget is allowable, then Bats. Batman has several items (if all gadgets are allowed) that deal with shorting out electronic devices (minor EMP devices, etc), explosives, acid pellets, etc. And Batman never fights straightout if he can help it. Still it would be a tough call.

Re: "24" Challenge Season 3 is the ultimate Jack suppression of his own morality. Season 1 was good for setting the tempo. Season 2 for just emotional rollercoaster. Season 3 is by far the tightest season. Season 4 just has the writers trying to dumb down the content and be too prententious. But I'm digressing a bit too much... Best Jack Bauer to do, IMHO, would be at the start of Season 3.

Re: Best way to Build Cap's Shield? The shield only returns to Cap because Cap knows how to throw it right. I'd suggest using the return feature depends on an actual skill a character needs to possess.

Sidenote: It's funny that most people want to emphasize the Communist legacy of the Russian culture, but don't realize the rich heritage that preceded that era. Think about the possible use of Rasputin as a villain (he was in the Hellboy movie!). Or the impact that the return of a Russian historical/legendary hero to the modern day culture. Hmm...something I may actually need to check out.

Re: Balancing of the Green Lantern I have to look at the Registered Lethal Weapon (core book) again, but I was thinking maybe translating a combination of the Presence and Ego stats to use as the pool for the ring. I'll have to mess with it. Not wanting to really hijack the thread too much, but have any of you experimented with the mega-attributes (?) for speed or other powers? I'm sure those would actually help with simulating the DC powers a lot easier--I was planning on using Mega-SPD/Running 3 for Wally West Flash.

Re: Balancing of the Green Lantern In the recent Green Lantern Rebirth series, they translated the use of Will to power the ring as taxing for those that aren't as stalwart. While I'm still somewhat new to the system, I was thinking of just creating the ring as a "gadget" of sorts with built in capabilities that could grow as the character does so. One of the factors I was considering that it translates willpower (or the equivalent system stat) into END--or maybe just use the equivalent stat that can bleed off endurance if necessary. Additionally, I'm considering including a varied power pool with minor ratings so as to come up with new things on the fly if necessary, but it includes common GL tools (i.e. shielding, flight, energy projection, communication, spirit travel, FTL travel, etc). While it may seem powerful, I was going to include all the other inherent problems with being a GL dependent on the era. Such disadvantages include: * Obligations to the Guradians and the Corps and all that entails (including representation ala Sinestro and Guy Gardner; constant monitoring without being aware of it) * Weakness to the color Yellow * Recharging of the Ring's powers * Committment to Order * Cannot use the ring to advance their own ends * Conflict with the Kwardians When applied right, such problems can limit even the most powerful GL (which it did!). Each of these can also be easily applied to a GL type hero as well.

Re: Name This Hero Sounds a lot like Elongated Man. Not knowing his attitudes, I'd go with a combination of the stretching characters. FantasticMan. Mr. Elongated. Mr. Plastic. "Stretch". Mr. Rubber (kinda bad that one). Hope some of those help.
