    Comments and criticisms please....

This is the dirt. He used to be a truck driver in the UK.

he mistaken ran some guns for the IRA, and the sorceress

from your local campaign used him as a host for an

elemental spirit. Now he's a synthesis of the two spirits.

He can't truly die yet. When Reduced to Death by Body loss,

he begins regenerating when his body contacts the earth.

Slowly he reforms and his body will eventually reappear

in a hill in England. He will arise in a few days from

    http://www.hows.org.uk/personal/hillfigs/main.htm

    a chalk drawing.

Dirt is a brick who returns from the dead. Powers similar to

    the old spidey villain SANDMAN.

when "killed" he regenerates in England,

and the more dead he is, and the farther from

there he is, the longer it takes for the

emerging from a chalk outline drawing on a hillside

(this ruins the drawing) when there are no more drawings left,

he will truly pass away if "killed" in combat again.

  2. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

In our Champions game Blue Bat has had nothing but bad luck with his Bata-Rangs. Every time he's used them he's either missed, fumbled an 18, or just totally bounced them off nothing.

The GM usually described the missed shot (the Bata-Rangs are supposed to return to him) as being stuck point-first into a nearby wall.

One teammate tried to be helpful:

    Blue-Bat rolls an 18 again.

Batarang goes zang into wall over villains head.

My character points at it, attempts a PRE attack with it by exclaiming "My gosh, I cant believe he's using a Bat-Bomb! Run!!"

GM says no way, its not ticking. PRE attack fails.

Other teammate just makes fun of Blue-Bat:

Bata-Rangs? I thought they were climbing tools.

(cause they stick in walls like little shelves)

  3. Re: Villainy Amok

Villainy Amok seems wondaful at first read.

I havent used it yet while GMing,

but its chock full of great ideas

    to send heroes fetching and

    players groaning.

The Fire system (End, Flam, Spd) seems :nonp:

a bit like Rolemaster in its chartiness,

but it is cool to know how fast a burnin

    candle will kill you.

Can't wait to use it for sure for sure...

  4. Re: Clix mod challenge

as soon as I get my junk out of storage,

I'll post pix of my Zatanna. :hex:

I'm a big Z fan, but I hate the stage-costume look. So I modded (just painted really) a White Queen clix to look like old JLA dress Zatanna.

I think youguys will like it...

  5. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

Joey, honey, I've got the money.

    All is forgiven. Listen, listen.

And if I seem to be confused,

I didn't mean to be with you.

And when you said I scared you, well,

I guess you scared me too. :(

But we got lucky once before,

and I don't wanna close the door.

And if you're somewhere out there

passed out on the floor, oh Joey,

I'm not angry any more

  6. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

These minstrels should soothe your jangled nerves:

"I n New York the people talk and try to make us rhyme

They really Hawk but we just walk because we have no time

And in the city it's a pity cos we just can't hide

Tinted windows don't mean nothin', they know who's inside

It's Tricky to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time

It's Tricky...(How is it D?) Tricky (Tricky) Tricky (Tricky)"

    :nonp:

  7. In some other roleplaying system they have the mechanic of

taking your 20, which is to say the PC spends as much

time as it takes to get a skill correct.

This can only be done in non-combat, low-pressure situations.

The player is assume to have rolled the best skill check possible

which is a 20 on their one die, when the PC does this.

Is there a similar animal living in Hero anywhere?

Also in this other roleplaying system they have the mechanic of

taking your 10, which is to say the PC takes a little

time to get a skill done at a median level. This is usually done

by experts who know that their high skill level is good enough

for the situation at hand, even at medium effort.

This can usually be done only in non-combat, low-pressure situations.

The player is assume to have rolled the median skill check

which is a 10 on their one die, when the PC does this.

Is there a mechanic similar to This in Hero anywhere?

  8. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

reminds me of a gaffe by the DM that totally destroyed the mood of the game.

it was supposed to be a gritty sewer crawl,

laden with horror by monsters lurking in deep water and deep darkness.

He tried to describe the formless invertebrates that were oozing up . . .

but the faux pas that came out of his mouth was "boneless hermaphrodites" :nonp:

  9. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

The new world was an unspoiled frontier perfect for colonization, a virtual paradise of boundless beauty and limitless resources, untouched by human hands...but not untouched, as the unsuspecting colonists soon discovered. Now marooned on a planet infested with the deadliest Blogger species ever encountered, the colonists learn firsthand

    the Law of the Internet:

adapt or become extinct. And a little helping hand couldn't hurt, inexplicably provided by the selfsame Board-Lurkers who destroyed the colonists' keyboard and made them prisoners in paradise. Are these extraterrestrial hunters actually showing sympathy for the humans' plight, or do they have something even more monstrous in mind? :nonp:

  10. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

Oh I recognized your log in name. I'm always wondering about old-timers

    from the Champs-L days.

I used to be the vocal minority on a lot of the  discussions.

I'm better now. But I still value both sides of a theory.

    Hi' date=' I used to be on champs-l, welcome![/quote']
  11. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER

I am new to the Hero-Games boards.

But not new to this Earth. & Not new to champions.

Not new to the internet; not new to the Champions discussions

    here's my old stomping grounds:

    http://www.sysabend.org/champions/index.html

    As I work my stuff up into 5th Ed. I'll post it;

but not in this t_h_r_e_a_d :stupid:

Thanks for the props on the sig line.

Welcome to the thread, Egyptoid. New to the forums, and already doing yeoman's service!

(At least, I assume you're actually new to the forums, and not an old hand "reincarnating" themselves.)

I don't know if you've seen it come up in my sig yet or not, but I did add that quote of yours, so it's in the rotation. :)
