  1. If you look at the new VIPER book, you notice that one of the scientist has a familer name to him. (Or, at least, I think his name is familer, as it was also the real idenity of King Cobra).

So, it might be a mater of time before this scientist (who was responcable for Sidewinder, Boa Constricter, and others) decides to test his mutation prosses on himself and become Cobra, Master Of Snakes.

  2. What would be the best way to simulate the villian of the old 60's splater movie The Wizard Of Gore's powers? Especaly the "I invite a 'volentear' up from the audeance, kill her, then reserect her...then after an hour, she falls apart again" power.

I would say a Killing Attack, Range, with the Time Delay advantage, and say the gore is a special effect, but he can use any hard, sharp object to do his 'magic tricks'? I beleve this should be an OIF, but should it also give him an Varable Advantage on it? If so, how much?

And, how much d6 in Killing Attack - Range does it take to kill a normal istantly anyways?

Well, since he is an NPC, it realy dosen't matter exactly how many advantages he has on the power, as long as it is enougth to simulate exactly what he does. May I ask you something...is 4d6 KA to much to kill a normal?

I had considered a time delay on the HKA, but you said that the wizard actually kills the victims and brings them back. If the damage has a delayed effect, there wouldn't really be any blood until the attack triggered (although you could say this is just a special effect).

Yes, I would say that the blood and guts are a special effect of his powers. By the way, hear is a small, incomplete rundown of all the 'magic tricks' he does.

    1) Forced two women to swallow swords.

    2) Put an iron spike through another woman's head (in, prehaps, the most fake special effect in the film...the spike acualy went into a stirafome head wearing a mask).

    3) Sawing a woman's torso with a chainsaw (the clasic sawing a woman in half trick...boy what HGL could do with red paint and pig guts).

    4) Placeing a woman on a workbench of a metal punch macheen, then turning the darn thing on.

    5) The already mentioned stick of TNT, being fed to the girl reporter, which turns out to be the goddess of magic.

So, is this enougth evidence to give the power a Varabul Advantage advantage? If so, how much?

If he has some kind of Transformation/Resurrection power, that would cover both Invisbly killing the victims, then bringing them back to life and also bringing back the girl he dug up. You might be right that the latter is a one-off and doesn't need to be done as a specific power.

I myself, If I am going to go the Susano rout and include EVEYTHING he did, would acualy have to write it up. If I did, it would defently be a limited Transformation (dead body to live body ) with the sick power limatation "Only last for a limited time: for as long as he is rapeing the body". How much of a limitation is this? (And, yes, I did mention he was a sick, vile man. A perfect canadate for being a DEMON Morbain, don't you think?)

How about - Killing Attack (OIF, various blades, guillotines, saws, etc.) Invisible Power Effects (Visible to electronic signals - a bit of a fudge, but there you go).

I was thinking about a huge RKA (4d6, at least), with a time delay myself, but the IPE would also work.

You could build the hypnosis thing as Mind Control (believe you saw no blood) or Mental Illusions, I suppose. Can he hypnotise the audience into seeing other things?

Nope. Just to hide the bloody mess he makes. Must make the managers of the places he works realy mad, cause I don't think he cleans up after himself.

Then a Resurrection option Healing, but limited in effect to one hour (fairly hefty Limitation that one). So, it would allow him to bring anyone back to life, but only for an hour. After that, they go back to being dead.

This will work to explane what he did to the girl he duged up. But he only made her 'live' for a short period of time, and, well, she was long dead (at least a few weeks). Would a Transformation work on that, or should I just ignore the power and say that it happened because of a huge Power: Necromancy skill and as a way to show the audeance that he is realy sick.

Did he really cut off his own head, or could this be Images or Mental Illusions? Perhaps he also has Resurrection Healing without the time limit. It might only work if he dies by his own hand.

Don't know...I haven't watched the darn film. He might of used it to end his life at the end of the film. And, of course, the ending is realy confusing (more so than Neon Geneses Evangelian). Basicly, he tries to blow up a female reporter who finds out his secret by feading her a stick of TNT, and haveing it explode in her gut. She turns out to be an reincarnated goddess of magic, and transports him to the begining of the film (off stage). He may of taken his own life. Or he may of watched himself from off stage.

Just a few ideas off the top of my head (which is, yep, still attached). I think maybe you need someone who's seen the film, though!

Defently agree with you there. The only reasion this movie intrests me is because of the power of it's villian (I even forgot his name, darn it).

  5. One question...has anyone atempted to do a write up of the villian of the old 60's splater film The Wizard Of Gore? I myself would love to know exactly what you think of his powers, and the best way to write them up.

    His powers:

    1) The ability to kill a person, then revive them so that thay have no memorie of the attack. Then, the victom falls apart again an hour later.

    2) The ability to mass-hyponise his audeance, so all thay see is a series of bloodless magic tricks. This dose not appear to work aganst camras (but it does affect the camraman who are taking the images at the time).

    3) The ability to cut his own head off without ill effect, then reatach it.

    4) His revival powers might not be limited to just reviveing his victoms (there was one sceen where he digs up a girls coffin, then does something to the revived girl).

I have to admit this...I never sceen the film myself. I have only read about it.

Oh, and the charater is created by Hershal Gorden Lewis.

  6. Kenshin's Sword.

Kenshin's sword, the reverse blade Katana (I beleve it has another, shorter name also, but I forgot it), is a curved metal katana with the cutting edge on the inside part of the sword, not the outside. Hear is my rougth outline for it. (And please forgive me if my math is wrong...I don't have FRED in frount of me at the moment).

Multipower: Reverse Blade Katana, 60 points, OAF (Reverse Blade Katana, -2): 20 Points.

    1) Blunt Edge Strike: Hand To Hand Attack +12d6, Hand-To-Hand Attack (-1/2), OAF (Reverse Blade Katana, -2): 18 Points: 2U.

    2) Razor Edge Strike: Hand Killing Attack 2d6, OAF (Reverse Blade Katana, -2): 20 Points: 2U.

    I hope this helps.

  7. Reminds me of my own gambling theamed assasion, Deathdealer. He wields raizor sharp playing cards (4 clips of 52 charges), and special sets of exploding d6 dice (he tosses two at a time, if the faces show up two ones, two sixes, or any combo which adds to seven or eleven, thay explode...if not, thay automatly 'dud out' so thay can't be used agenst him).

This is proably because the writers did not remember he had such powers. So, thay fail to take them in acount in the curent batch of stories thay tell with him. No biggie. If you want to give him such powers, give it to him. If not...your free to exclude them. It's your write up, you know.

That is because, since the man who became Solomon Grundy drouned in the swamp, somehow the wood in the swamp got into his system...and whatever revied him from the dead infused the wood into his body. Since the Golden Age Green Lantern had a limitation about wood, Grundy could basicly walk all over the Golden Age GL.

And, if I remember corectly, the energy absorber was The Shaggy Man, not Grundy.

As for powers for Solomon Grundy, give him some life suport and 40 STR at 0END (He can be taken down, thoe. Batman once defeted him by tranqulising some meat he gave him to eat). Remember to also give him a large AK: Gothem City Swere System. And the Psychological Limatation (or Physical Limitation) Amnisa: Can't Remember ANYTHING From Before His Revival. And in his Life Suport, give him Imunity to ageing (He fought the Golden Age Green Lantern in GL's prime, and the Batman).

Unforcently, Instant Change, as we know it from 4th Edition, does not exist any longer. Instead, it is now considered a part of Transformation (Cosmetic Transformation). If you, the GM, want to be nice, you can simply give them the power to transform for free, or grandfather the Instant Change power from 4th edition.

How this affects magical girls as decribed in your campain, I realy don't know.

she can absorb energy and convert it to pure magic via her crystal medallion for a variety of attacks and spells.

Nice. I played an otaku who somehow saved a dragon named Yuri, and was giving the powers of a magical girl. Funny thing, his normal ID is a guy, and his superhero ID is a girl. I remember nameing her Lady Heat.

One of theas days, I am going to have to recreate him/her.

Rey means "King" del means "of" and Oro means "Gold". So, your villian calls himself the King Of Gold? Sounds good.

  13. Yes, Menton and Teleios will proably be the ones who would take over the top spot if the bad doctor, hell forbid, ever crokes for good. But the main question is, who can replace the bad doctor when we are talking about mass destruction, the guy eveybody fears, walking atomic bomb just waiting to explode type of villian.

While I don't know exactly who would take over, the nominies are:

    1) Menchanon: Let's face it, nothing is scaryer than a robot looking to decerate his home with a few million human corpses.

    2) Holocost: Power wise, he is on his way to scaryvill. Unforcently, he still needs a full plan and agents to make him a full blown evil mastermind.

    3) Gravitar: Powerwise, she is the second most feared being on the planet. Forcently, her ideals about controling the Earth are still on the small side.

    4) Eurostar: Individuly, thay are on the small scale. But together, thay have been known to slaughter thousans, and even some superheros.

    5) Terror Incorprated: See Eurostar above for reasion. Lower on the list because, well, the group is defunked...so far.

    6) Grond: The four-armed terror. Forcently, he is not intrested in controling the Earth. Grond want to be left alone. Grond smach if not left alone. (Of course, New Millimum Grond was made smarter than normal, so imagion Flowers For Grond...give him supersmarts sundenly, and watch him become extremly dangerous).

So, to make a long post longer, who would you pick for the next 'most dangerous supervillian'?

  14. Looking alright so far. Not nesasary like the original versions of Gold Rush and Gold Brick (or Project: Gold, which were originaly desined to teach players a lesson about the use of leathel force in a standard superhero campain setting).

My guess is that Golden Rod might be next (a hiered martial artest), along with Gold Mind (a mentlest with golden skin). Then, finaly, Gold Bug, who is hunting theas people.

Humm...I kinda liked my revision of Project: Gold, with my own Gold Bug leading them (who's real name happend to be Midus Mercery).

The above suggestions make good sense, especially within the context of the official CU, but I'm going to back a dark horse here and vote for the late, lamented Professor Muerte. If anyone would know where Albert Zerstoiten had his secret bases and kept his backup armor and other toys, it would be his former protege/sometime partner, Hernan Cortez. If Dr. Destroyer really were gone and his property left unguarded, I'd expect. Prof. Muerte to be in like a shot to scavenge from them. Not to mention equipping his Terror Inc. troops with weapons from Destroyer's agent's arsenal.

That would be a nasty suprise for PCs the next time Muerte showed up. And Scorpia might have been more hesitant to betray the Prof if he had that kind of juice.

I agree with Lord Liaden. That is, asuming that the bad profesor is still alive. Professor Muerte is the most logical one to scroung the old Doctor Destroyer tech.

But here is an ideal...what if it is Muerte inside the armor of Doctor Destroyer? I mean, we can not see the bad doctor's face in his spiffy new armor. Prehaps he has an advance voice change unit in the mask?

Or, barring that, Destroyer has a few clones loose, and one of them asumes the mantel of the bad doctor? Or, like I once sergested for Prof. Muerte, a special helmet which trasfers memories and personality to others when it is put on, and can not be taken off? There are many ways for Doctor Destroyer to get revenge from the grave (asuming that he is truly dead in your campain world).

  16. Well, I do beleve the "secret crises" is a poke at thoes two 'events'. While there was a good reasion for Crises On Infident Earths to warent it, in my opinion, Secret Wars (and Secret Wars 2) was a marketing ploy by Marvel to sell more comics durring the summer.

By the way, I did enjoy all three series. Which goes to show you that not all marketing gimics are bad (unlike, say the "Death" of Superman).

  20. I don't think Hairbringer Of Justice was supose to be a "example charater". Instead, he was ment to be a 'link' charater between the worlds of Champions and Dark Champions.

And I don't expect to see his stats until we get to Hudson City: The Urban Abays. So there.

Gwendolin was a "for men" series of graphip novals (before the true age of such novals even begun) in the 1950's drawn by John Willy (I think that was his name). The stories were set in the english countryside of 1940's or so, and told of the adventures of Lady Gwendolin, a submisive blond who found herself tied up a lot (most of the time, to a half post), Agent X-41, a mystereous female raven haired secret agent working for who knows what side, and there 'master', the Lord DeArk (or something like that).

Like I said, I don't know the full story behind them, but I have seen some artwork. And, yes, it is all bondage.
