  1. And Helen Slater as her adoptive mother.
  2. I enjoyed it, and look forward to watching more.
  3. 1. I almost included the whole album side, but finally decided on this one track: 2. One of my favorite classical pieces. From the description on Youtube: 3. And of course, there's this to round things out:
  4. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (original theatrical releases). Emotionally involving, unlike much of the more recent Hobbit movies.
  5. Return to Oz -- A bit of nightmare fodder that I thankfully only found as an adult (it's not really suitable for young kids). Most of the plot is taken from the second and third Oz books (The Marvelous Land of Oz and Ozma of Oz), and it's a much darker take on the source material than the 1939 musical. Beware the Wheelers!
  6. Flood by They Might Be Giants. Currently on "Whistling in the Dark"
  7. Seventh Son - It's greatest sin is that it's frequently boring, often in the action sequences. Well and truly earned its Rotten Tomatoes score of 12%.
  8. Auto-DJ madness: "Hell in a Bucket" - Grateful Dead "The Warring Forces of the Twins" - Tangerine Dream "Dust in the Wind" - Kansas "Hyperborea II" - Tangerine Dream "What I Am" - Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians
  9. Zoom isn't kicking out bad guys through the biggest breach, but seems to be using one or more of the smaller ones. Whether that means the ones that he uses all lead to E-2, or that Zoom is hopping around a bit, I don't know.
  10. Auto-DJ madness: "Everybody Loves Somebody" by Frank Sinatra "Jessica's Theme" from the Who Framed Roger Rabbit soundtrack. "No Matter What" by Phil Collins "The Village of Dwarfs" by Rhapsody "The Stoned Guest: Overture" by P.D.Q. Bach
  11. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCVIn-WXMUU
  12. Isao Tomita's reworking of The Planets--here's "Neptune, the mystic"
  13. "The Planets: Saturn, The Bringer of Old Age", composed by Gustav Holst.
  14. "It's Only a Paper Moon" by Ella Fitzgerald and the Delta Rhythm Boys "Blue Moon" by Jo Stafford "How High the Moon" by Sarah Vaughan
  15. "Tales of the Future" by Vangelis and Demis Roussos, from the Blade Runner soundtrack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkfnEWvJX1I
  16. Tomorrow will mark the six year anniversary of my wife's death. I'm not sure why, but it's rougher this year than it's been in a while, and I find that I miss her very much right now.
  17. Kingsman: The Secret Service -- What I assume the Avengers* movie was supposed to be like. Magnum Force -- I have a soft spot for Clint Eastwood movies. Justice League: Gods and Monsters -- An alternate take of the Justice League from Bruce Timm. *The one with Sean Connery in a teddy bear costume.
  18. I was so hoping that "cheese smuggling" was some kind of euphemism, like "crop dusting".
  19. Auto-DJ madness: "Letter from Space" by Erik Norlander "The Key to Her Ferrari" by Thomas Dolby and the Jazz Mafia Horns "We Have All the Time in the World/James Bond Theme" by John Barry "Opening Ceremony" from the album version of the musical Chess "On the Steps of the Palace" from the original Broadway cast album of Into the Woods "Procession" by Vangelis
  20. My doctor's office seems to go out of their way to send my blood samples to the wrong lab*, which means that they don't get paid properly. I have an appointment coming up, so we'll see if they can get it right. *Local underwriter uses lab A, its national parent corporation uses lab B, and they can't seem to figure out that lab A is the one they need to use.
