How did you come up with your 'handle' (forum name)?

It was my City of Heroes global handle - I had 27 Brutes on Virtue.  It's a play on the title of a techno song popular when I was in Germany (Das Boot - a techno remix of a show theme)

What was the first tabletop RPG you played?

AD&D 2nd edition.  Our first adventure was the Mines of Bloodstone because we all lied and said we'd played before and used characters from 'previous games'.  All 20th level Dual Classed with straight 25 stats. And mine was half elf, half ogre. Ah, 11 year olds.

What was the first tabletop RPG you GMed?

AD&D 2nd edition.  My campaign setting had flying islands, tinker gnomes whose inventions worked who had a knock off of the Enterprise-D as their flagship and used RoboCop gnomes as their security. Also sentient tarrasques and a race of magic users ripped directly off from the Haydonites from the Robotech:Sentinels series.  Ah, 13 year olds.

    What are you currently playing/GMing?

After a short stint (20 years) of DMing D&D (2nd through 4th) (with far less sentient tarrasques and RoboGnomes as time rolled on.  Kept the flying islands, though.) I've been taking a break and running a Champions Complete game.

For old times sake it did feature a sentient tarrasque one adventure (A reskinned Grond).  With Champions you can get away with 40 being the new 13 from time to time.

Canadian official opposition tries to get Prime Minister to denounce Trump as a 'fascist'

Yes, Mr Mulcaire.  Nothing bad could come of bad mouthing the next potential president of your largest trading partner - especially if your allegations end up being 'true'. That's exactly how international diplomacy works.

I know he's just saying it so Canadians remember that his party still exists and to look personally strong before the leadership convention that will in all likelihood see him replaced - but it looks childish and if he'd ended up PM I doubt he'd be saying it at all.

This is what Trudeau has said and frankly it's all ANY foreign power has a right to say:

"I have great faith in the American people and look forward to working with whoever gets elected in November," said Trudeau, who did not mention the Republican candidate by name.
"As we approach November and as we move beyond into the next administration there will be some lessons learned that I hope get learned," he continued. "But like I said, I have tremendous confidence in what Abraham Lincoln referred to as the 'better angels of our nature."

The most recent episode (the crossover is tomorrow as I write this) did address this point. Young Kara, only recently arrived on earth hears trouble and DOES rush to help. She saves two lives--and is soundly lectured about the dangers of doing so again. So while, yes, she is physically superior to anyone (except Clark) in her life, every authority figure she knows spends the next ten years telling her to keep her head down and avoid making a spectacle of herself. And she's a pre-teen (or teenager) for most of that time. And she does what she's told (by presumably wiser people than she).

Wastelander game.  Vega (me) has failed his sexual compulsion's self-control roll in a big way (as he usually does) but rolls in such a manner in a bar that he ends up picking up two women and a man and leaving with them despite some hefty penalties.

Grim: "I'm beginning to think the only difference between a sleazy pervert and a sex addict is success rate."

It's a sad state of affairs that one of the biggest plot twists in my current Champion's campaign is that the US government and its superhuman affairs department aren't evil.  It broke my player's brains - they spent entire sessions trying to reverse engineer the ulterior motives behind super-powered FBI agents helping them with intel and field assistance in apprehending a very powerful super-villain.

One of the system's main jobs is 'guinea pig'.  It's a test bed for patches, etc, and how they'll interact with our ridiculously fragile POS software.  As it stands I owe one of my assistants money because GWX did indeed eventually say 'enough sitting around - I'm tired of waiting for you to pick a time so I'll do it myself'.  Even after almost 20 years in the business I didn't think they'd go that far.

I've seen that before. I've replicated most of that programs functionality myself with some very messy registry changes.  Still, it's as good a time to test it as any in case I need a fast and easy to deploy solution and I do like how clean it's UI is. Let's see if it works as advertised.

A post nuclear 'Fallout' style game I'm in.  My character is sex addict with the social skills needed to get a near 100% success rate and while I don't eat up a lot of play time with it in order to not be disruptive the GM always makes sure to include throwaway lines even in travel montages about his conquests and we *have* been run out of town before.

Upon reaching a fortification in hostile ghoul territory:

Gate Guards: "If you want to stay with the Sewer Rats for the night. You will need to offer trade - or tribute."

*everyone at the table immediately looks at me, in character and out*

Vega (me): "*sigh* If I must..."

(We ended up raiding an abandoned hospital for medical supplies instead)

After we headed back and were waiting for entrance

Grim (the hardened survivor soldier): "Well, if Kas' (our merchant player character) oral skill doesn't pan out here...."
