  1. After me and my frinds coms to an argument abut OIF-Bulky, and i uses in vaicel howe esy cud a person remov a wepon from a shif or not if it is OIF, Is a OIF a part of the ship for the purpus of durabilety ans so foth

    What language is this?

  2. Thanks for the PDF. I think I had that at some point on another laptop, and didn't know where to find it again. It will at least give me some ideas where to start with the builds.

    I'm trying to write-up a TOS-era Miranda, a RomBOP, a D-7, and a few others.

I've got the TOS-era HERO Trek PDF. If you have other stuff, I'd love to see what you have. THANKS!

  3. If so then I think they are making a serious strategic error. The same error that movie producers make when they take a movie that could easily appeal to all ages, and turn it into a kid's movie.

For instance, the original Star Wars (i.e., A New Hope, prior to the special edition changes) was a movie that appealed to all ages. Every Star Wars movie after Empire progressively lost this quality, and increasingly leaned on elements too juvenile for adults to enjoy or relate to. The equivalent for Supergirl, I think, would be to "target" women and girls, almost to the exclusion of men (who would ordinarily tune into any superhero show you put on the air) rather than making it appeal to viewers of both genders.

It seems that only a tiny handful of creators in Hollywood understand that you can make a show that women/girls will enjoy without having to pander to them.

As opposed to 90% of TV that panders to men? Sounds kind of sexist to me.

  4. Re: Margarita Man for 6th Edition...

    Margarita Man

    Nibblin' on sponge cake

    Helping a thug make

The smartest decision he's made in some time

Yeah he'll get off scott free

    But that doesn't bug me

'Cause the three he'll turn in are the worst kinds of slime.

Savin' the day again, I'm Margarita Man

Scanning for some good deed I can do

Some people claim the fact I'm here is a shame,

But I know, that they don't have a clue.

    That mugger was stalking

    A young woman walking

But now he's freaked out and his mind's come unglued

    She's a real beauty

    A Mexican cutie

She's had a close call, but she hasn't a clue.

Some people claim that Jimmy Buffet's to blame,

    But I know, it's the palindromedary's fault.

  5. Here's how I usually handle items (magical and non-magical)-

All characters get to start with a logical set of armor, and any normal weapons they have Skills for. Also clothes and basic adventuring gear.

If the player wants to have a magic item for his character at the beginning, they pay for it from their starting Character Points. This means they have less points for skills, characteristics, etc.

If they acquire magic items during play, they can keep it, without paying points for it.

  6. You both are right. I like the speculative Season 5 Refit, which was talked about in one of the Enterprise Novels.

I couldn't find a good TOS looking Miranda Class. Thanks for the nice looking render.

In the TOS days (pre movie Trek) there was an idea that early Human Federation ships weren't all saucer shaped. With them being more square looking. Starting in one of those blocky ships with Armor and no shields would be very interesting to me.

If you like that shot, look at the entire thread here on the TrekBBS...

  7. That does touch on one other thing as far as my tastes go. If I were to run an Enterprise Reboot campaign, I would abandon the TNG looking Akiraprise NX-1 and go for a Ship design that looks either like the USS Kelvin from the movies or something that looks like a TOS version of a Miranda Class.

If you had to stick to the NX design the upgraded Columbia is a step in the right direction.

    So, something like this?

  8. I would love to see people's write-ups of Jack Burton -- his own real ability is when he says "It's all in the reflexes."  And I guess the ability to think he is the main character of the story when he is actually a sidekick.

BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA is also interesting because it was originally written by W. D. Richter to be a western.
