  1. PENANGGALAN is a brilliant suggestion thanks!
  2. Is there a conversion for these DnD monsters around? thought I'd ask before doing it myself!
  3. Re: And 6e print books start to arrive Still nothing, this is the last time I order anything off the online store. i could've got these books faster at my local store.
  4. Re: And 6e print books start to arrive Nor me four. Not even a tracking number yet.
  5. Re: Dark Champions Images and Art I've used this site as inspiration for many games. Great places for hauntings, monster lairs, or post-apocalptic imagery. http://oboylephoto.com/ruins/
  6. Re: Deathlands novels - Worth reading for PA Hero inspiration? I haven't read any of the recent books but if you can track down the early ones (before multiple authors started writing the series and character development stopped) they do have a lot of good ideas to borrow. The concept of the gateways is an interesting one and allows you to vary the setting of the campaign easily. On top of that there is time travel, mutants and lost ancient technology in a very gritty and violent setting. Another good series like this to lift ideas from is Endworld, they are a bit harder to find than the Deathlands series but the first 5 or so are worth tracking down. There is a built in home base for the PC's with The Family and the warrior Triads make an excellent adventuring party. Plus everyone gets to pick their own cool names and the later books feature genetically engineered humanoid animals.
  7. Re: Post-Apocalyptic Hero -- What Do *You* Want To See? There's a lot of good photos of abandoned buildings on this site http://oboylephoto.com/ruins/
  8. Re: Dark Champions the Anime Series For all you manga fans on here, I work for a remainder book company and we just got in a huge amount of books from tokyopop, they go for about $4 each and they're will be lots more in the next few weeks as we sort through the ~50,000 copies we recieved. The website is www.bookcloseouts.com just search for tokyopop or whichever specific title you are looking for We also occasionally get dnd books.
  9. Re: Night of the Living Dead Hero Plot Ideas One of the major differences between Solanum zombies and typical romero-esque zombies is that the infection can be spread not just from a bite but from any fluid to fluid contact (similar to 28 days later but with a much longer incubation period). So be extra careful when blowing them up! How would you model the threat of fluid to fluid transmission using HERO?
  10. Re: Night of the Living Dead Hero Plot Ideas As an example of holing up in a prison for protection from the living dead check out "The Walking Dead" a comic by Robert Kirkman. It's been collected into several graphic novels (volume 3 is when the prison enters the picture). http://www.amazon.com/Walking-Dead-Vol-Days-Gone/dp/1582403589 It's a mostly character driven series that's not all about splattering zombie brains everywhere and is well worth a read.
  11. Re: post-apocalyptic genre book You forgot ZOMBIES!!! Man, I love zombies.
  12. Re: post-apocalyptic genre book One you may have missed is the type of apocalypse from S.M. Stirlings "Dies the Fire" and it's sequel. The laws of physics change suddenly (no explanation is given) so that electricity doesn't work properly, explosives burn to slow for guns to work, steam engines cannot build enough pressure to be practical etc. I guess it might fit under Magical Doom since it's so far fetched. Good book though.
  13. Re: Living Steel? Acually no those sites will be of help, the only thing I didn't see at first look that was well covered was the power armor, more specifically the Seven Swords power armor with it's interchangable armor plates, ripple packs etc. I'll have to take a closer look once I fight off this flu and can sit at the computer for more than a couple minutes at a time!
  14. Re: Living Steel? Unfortunately the Spacers Toolkit is not in the online store, out of print I assume? But you're right that sounds like what I need. Glad to see that others remember the game! Even if just for the amusing quotes. Well I guess I'll have to roll up my sleeves and try to do the conversions for the armor and gear myself. Probably a good way to learn the system anyway.
  15. I was just wondering if anyone has done conversions to Hero System for the old Leading Edge Games RPG, Living Steel? I always loved the setting but the system just wasn't that great. Once my gaming group has finished with our Midnight campaign I'm going to try running a long term campaign set just after the apocalypse using Hero. I've ordered the Hero System Equipment guide from my FLGS, does it include power armour, gauss weapons, laser, or flechette weapons? And would anyone be able to suggest a good set of psychological limitations to represent each of the Seven Legions? Or rmaybe help with write-ups for the spectrals, dragoncrests, vissers, slozek and Larden? For those unfamiliar with this great setting this link has all the setting info from the main book. http://www.ludd.luth.se/~mcgreag/ls/ls.html Having never run a Hero game before I would apreciate any help at all. Thanks Shawn
