Maia Anderson was an only and spoiled child. Her father lavished his attention on his 'little princess' and imbued in her his love of literature, fueling her imagination with tales of mystical lands and people.
But then at a young age, she stopped growing. Not only did she stop growing - she began to shrink and eventually reached the size of only a few inches. To protect his beloved Maia, her father kept Maia isolated on their woodland estate. His protection slowly became more and more restrictive as time passed, until the home became her prison.
She managed to escape from him and fled into the surrounding woodlands. She spent the next few years fleeing from animals that saw her as food or people who tried to cage her as a curiousity. And from her father who tried relentlessly to again imprison his beloved 'princess'. During this time she learned to hate everything larger than herself.
Then, while hiding in a large flower blossom, she changed again. Thin, gossamer wings spread out from her shoulders. She found that not only could she now fly, she could take the images from her imagination and project them into others' minds. She would send beautiful visions to others, and lure them into places of certain danger or death. Her first victim was her father, who stumbled into a busy roadway pursuing a 'princess' that wasn't there.
She found others like herself that also hated the 'big folk' and joined them. Together with her new companions, Thumbe-lethal hopes to bring an end to the rule of the giants who have plagued and ruined her life.
