  1. Re: What about the warriors

I have been wupped up by one man in his late fiftties though, I'm in better shape, he has, for sake of arguement though, more levels.

We've never had problems W/the warriors being outshined in hero, even W/the cheaper spell options. Hero as a system is very favorable if you have lots of levels and end, like most warriors (atleast in our games, it's not unual for my monk instance to have cv's floating around 10 and upper limits of 15 when he dodges). Sure your average Knight or Samuri won't be as bombastic as the wizard or Shuegenja, but in the small close and personal fights he (she) will still kick as much as always.

  2. Re: Change Environment and Time Dilation

This may have been suggested already, but...if the bubble is meant to make things easier to hit from the outside, yet constant inside, how about CE with negative DCV modifiers for attacks from outside the radius. You can also give the outside participants bonuses to perception rolls. Those inside would get negative OCV mods for shooting out of the radius and Perception mods for seeing out...since everything is faster. Also in game you can create a Drani to all the spds or say let everyone outside go 2 times for everytime the insiders go...GM's fiat.

  3. I've been playing (running) starwars now for several weeks W/Jedi. The Lightsabers are ALVD (vs. Combat luck) and they have 0 effect on energy shielding.

It works awesome!!! Storm troopers have between 4-7 Res. ED in my game and they get torqued by 1.5D6 Lightsabers (Martial Arts DC's and Levels are the only way of raising the damage). Plus with Hit Location, there are limbs everywhere.

I also give Lightsabers a -1 stun mod, They are for killing and dismembering not for subdual. I have 6 MArtial Arts forms and a whole new way of working force powers based on the 'spells as Talents' from Fantasy Hero. I should post this stuff I suppose.

This game is working far better than I could have imagined!!! Wow hero actually works!!!!!!!!!! ;) (sarcasm)

  4. Actually Magic in the Dresden Files isn't vague at all. Jim Butcher goes into great detail about it. It's based on how much emotion your will to invest in each spell.

Dresden only casts a Handful of spells on the fly, but has several Focus's bought W/charges for his more powerful mojo. Spells are either Incantation (any language or psuedo language will do, it's just focus your mind) or a skill roll. End is based on an End reserve but you cn dip into your own end, probably at x2 end.

Dresden himself has been described as the wizard with the most Raw power anyone has seen. Unfortunatly his fine control over spells is somewhat lacking.

  5. Just curious if anyone else here has read these novels. Not great literature, but amazingly fun to read. For those who don't know, Harry Dresden is the only proffessional wizard in the Chicago tellephone book. He's a 40's type Noir P.I./Wizard, in modern Chi-town.

Seems almost tailor made for a Modern Fantasy campaign.
