  2. Re: What to do with your stuff... Also, many places in the middle ages, an entire village was responsible for the crimes of every member. When a whole village can be fined to ruin, whipped, etc., for one "scruffy stablehand," that stablehand's theft will be reported IMMEDIATELY by every villager who finds out about it. The best way to protect your stuff is to buy an entire house. Then get trustworthy guards, and do your adventuring in the local area.
  3. Re: Armor, Weapon, and Shield Durability/Breakability? There was a game called Arduin that had an enormously complicated chart for this kind of thing. There were something like 12 types of armor, and hundreds of weapons. Each weapon got a ± adjust against each type of armor. An enormous PITA, and nearly everyone who played Arduin ignored it. Still, if that's your bag, you could look for a copy of the game....
  4. Re: Rarity of Magic? It'll be in the campaign I'm going to start because the players said they wanted magic to be awe-inspiring. We talked it over and agreed that meant magic was POWERFUL and that meant magic was rare (cause otherwise it would disrupt society and daily life to shreds). It is what I prefer, but it's part of the campaign setting because the players wanted it.

  8. Re: Magic System Question #4 I'm sorry! I guess I wasn't clear. That's the prob with not doing this face-to-face; I can't tell what's not getting across until a lot of times wasted. A person can only get this spell once in her life. A person can cast it as often as she wants.

  11. Re: Magic System Question #3 Same book, page 176, under Usable Simultaneously has got nothing contradictory. Though I think you're idea's got better sense. I'm gonna House Rule it like that for Usable By Other and Usable Sim. Usable As Attack I'll keep like the book.
  12. I got a spell that does like a flying carpet (only it makes a shield fly). How do you keep people from falling off a flying carpet? Or anything flat that can be flied on. EDIT: note to myself: Don't post when so tired I forget the word "flown." Or how to spell "Magic." Dam that's in the TITLE. :o

  17. Re: Magic System Question #4 No, I WANT it to be -2, and "Charges Never Recover" (a BS name) to be -1/2. Really, CNR means just "go find one of the other half billion MacGuffins that do it" or "kowtow to the crazy wizard that makes them" or something like that. I've never seen a campaign, a module, a writen up magic item with CNR that they don't tell you how to recover the charge only its not CALLED recovering the charge its called finding a new one or some BS like that. But I'd have a hard sell on dropping CNR so much so I was looking for help on pricing a REAL NEVER recover.
  18. Re: Magic System Question #3 OK been thinking more on this. Realized it's important the caster can choose if he's letting other people see it too. Special Effects is out. Usable Simultaniously would have to be a Naked Adv. So Images is what's left. Thanks for the help and ideas.
  19. Re: Bizarre Spell Ideas Flesh to Plush: Turns living animals (yes! that includes people) into fuzzy surfaced cute dolls. Plush to Flesh: Undoes above spell. Cast onto other plush/fuzzy things the result is YECCH!
  20. For Extra Dimensional Movement, to one location in the dimension/dimensions got to, can that location be something that moves? Like a Fixed Location Teleport that's inside an airplane? Similar Q: can a Fixed Location be "the current United Airlines flight from Boston to NYC"?

When Markdoc pumped in two Lims and a house rule to do what I wanted I said that -4 was way more than I thought right for what's just "Charge Never Recovers No We Really Mean NEVER" I wasn't dissin' Markdoc just reacting so chill, 'K.
