  1. Re: Magic System Questions #5---the real one This might be the start for another way. Two things it needs; Absorb does no defense so I need to be megadefenses and the 'sorbed points gotta go in a VPP so it can do any spell back atcha. I'll work on this and the other way see what I can do. Thanks both a ya.
  2. Re: Magic System Questions #5---the real one I hadn't thought of "Naked Adder" method. I like that but Time Delay has to be set for a particular time and Delayed Effect is only in campaigns where you can only have X spells going at once which I won't be doing. I'm gonna hafta think how to make it work.
  3. How would you do a spell (or built in ability) to absorb a spell cast atcha, and "release" it later? Frex, is there a way to give Missile Reflection a delayed reflect? Or is this major league defenses and a VPP, Only For Spells Cast At You? Or do you got another method?

  5. Re: Bizarre Spell Ideas OK, Now I'll Touch It: For all those things you wouldn't touch with a 10' pole---here's an 11' pole! Transform, Air into 11' pole (Major), 3d6, Std. Effect (+0) (Active 45), Gestures (-1/4), Incantations (-1/4), Extra Time (Full Phase, -1/2), Total cost: 22 points.

  7. Re: Magic System Question #4 Wow, that's gonna make it way too cheap! I was looking for something instead of "Charges Never Recover". Something like it but more "powerful". With the players that will be in the campaign, YES!!!!! This is what I keep saying and no one pays attention to ---- We've all been burned too f*****g often by GM's changing things in mid campaign and we all want to see every spell, weapon, item, whattheF***ever written down. OK some GM wants/"needs" to invent in mid game fine go ahead just write it down now b*****d so you can't change it. Yes the players get the same treatment. That's my players and that's me!! This is gonna be one of the mcguffins so it really truely HAS to get written down.

  10. Hi! I want some spells to be "one in a life" event. The rule book on p184 says "Charges Never Recover" is -2 Lim. But them you can get another gizmo/scroll/thingy and do it again. I want NEVER again. Would you make that -2 1/2, -3? Or do you think "Charges Never Recover" is too high now, reduce it, and make "One In A Life" -2? Or something else?

  12. Re: Magic System Question #3 UAA is the wrong feel. I want something that can be seen by anyone around, not something that might be seen by some folx around. Also, in your version nothing says folx who see see it IN the photo. No dice. Anyone got opinion on my question the way I asked it?

  14. I'm working on a spell that the caster casts on a "photo" and it moves and shows what happened at the place at the time or up to 2 days earlier/later. Retro Clairsentience Normal Sight, lasts a coupld minutes Do you think I should add Images because anyone can see the moving picture, or just call it special effects?

  19. Re: Magic System Question #1 I like a lot of this stuff, but I've decided to go with each form having no Multiform, and having to buy it to switch to a newer form that knows the new spell. I'm going to have the Multiform have the Limitation: "Cannot Switch Back To Original Form." I think that's a -0 Lim. What do you all think?

  21. Re: Magic System Question #1 Thanks for the ideas. I'll adapt some to my world, for the roleplaying side of learning spells. Not the "try it till you get it"---spells in my world always work. The money-grubbing "academy" is good tho. May be what/who causes the pain (STUN Drain). Hmm.... Blood magik?
