  1. The problem with "A Hero in X Published world" is that pesky IP thingie that gets publishers sued or at the least ceased and Desisted. Any "homage" to a published IP will end up looking like the Author's idea of the world.

Not to mention that it sounds more like a conversion guide than an actual setting they way Doc D presented it.

  2. It looks like Narosia is indeed just this...

Shipping to UK not expensive either. I guess I know where my next £40 will be spent...putting my money where my mouth is.

I missed any chat and talk about this. Did it feature much on the boards??

    Doc

It ran the rounds here when it was a kickstarter campaign. Then there were delays, so you can imagine the back-and-forth on that. In the end, they delivered, which is a lot more than can be said for other game projects on KS.

  3.

True, but the first post says

    Which

    1) has some interesting implications for keeping that secret - "people see her as they want to see her" but cameras for example do not want to see her in any particular way. Anyone knowing the character's secret identity will recognize them in the footage. Anyone not knowing the character will realize they saw a different face than the footage shows. And anyone with the footage can start printing up posters with the character's face asking "Have you see this person?" or put the photo in the newspapers.

    2) has implications beyond keeping the secret - even if the setting for some reason doesn't include things like cameras, the fact that no two witnesses describe the same thing may get noticed and remarked upon. "This is impossible" declares the detective, "there's no way one and the same person can look and sound like James Earl Jones, Grace Jones, and Tommy Lee Jones!"

What does a palindromedary want to see?

I know what the OP wrote. Bigdamnhero missed the reference to Secret ID. Just because it's in the title doesn't negate the fact that the OP did mention it.

The palindromedary didn't need to reply to me to make the other points.

  4. So, if the Regen was 1 BOD per day, would you slap a huge advantage on the Resurrect adder to make it 1 BOD per hour? I don't think coming back in a day instead of an hour markedly reduces the value of being able to come back from the dead, nor do I think it's really well-defined how rapidly one recovers from death using resurrection. If I wanted to rules lawyer, after 1 hour, you recover 1 BOD. You are still at negative BOD, so you lose 1 BOD in post-segment 12. On that basis, 1 point of Regen can never resurrect anyone.

The application of Regeneration stabilizes the person bleeding out. Steve clarified that point here: http://www.herogames.com/forums/topic/93653-resurrection-amounts/?hl=resurrection

  5. So do only backers have access or is it for sale?

Backers only. Right now you can purchase the PDF of the original book, and also a copy of the archives Susano worked from. I'm sure the new book and PDF will be available shortly after the backers have been sent their copies. I thought Jason posted somewhere about it, but I couldn't find it (or it may have been for another kickstarter).

  6. I use Foxfire for the internet.  I tried Internet Explorer to open the link and it does not work for me either.

Firefox, Chrome, Edge, and IE are all working for me. Depending on what error/message you get it could be something on your machine, or getting from your ISP to wherever the material is hosted.

  7. Although I just now saw this thread (focusing too much on trolling/browsing the Superheroic threads), I would prefer option 2.  I have CC and would rather have a "fantasy" supplement with all kinds of goodies for GMs and players to use as guidelines.

However, I do understand the desire for FHC.  Some persons would rather play "fantasy" than "superhero" and might be looking for a different system to try.

Guessing you can't have the cake and icing?  IOW, do both?

Fantasy Hero Complete is already a shipping product. It's been out for over a year.

  8. If you look at extant Trek rather than McQarrie's design, it looks like A Klingon D7 back (triangular and lowered nacelles)  and Fed Saucer. The music got decidedly drum based and Klingonish when that part of the ship came into view. I'm cool with that.

I just want to know what era/timeline it's going to be in. Visually it looks Pre-TNG. Maybe even pre-TOS.

I don't get that station, but I'm sure I;ll find them somewhere to watch.

CBS All Access is an online service. If you're outside of the US, Netflix will be streaming the episodes after they air.

  9. What date should someone turn the Way Back machine to?

I don't understand the question. The links take you to the specific pages (and whatever date LL chose). The information he was referencing is there. You're free to look at whatever other dates are stored for those pages.

  10. Sadly, the first 5 links Lord Liaden lists were old geocities pages, and they now link to the newfangled Yahoo business site.

And a number of the links go to pages that have broken links, also sadly. Can't seem to find a decent Gamma World conversion, or a decent Fallout-style writeup in HERO.

    Anyone have any ideas?

All of the first 7 links point to the Wayback Machine and are working fine (I just checked and those pages come up.)
