  1. Re: CHAR: Doctor Atomic

I like the whole idea you've got going on. I can't wait to see your other Silver-Age analogs! Also the other versions of Doctor Atomic...once you get his uber late silver-age version to your liking.

The thing I loathe about all the BS they've done to Tony Stark is that part of his original concept was that he had certain physical frailties. Rather than get cocky and say "Oh, he can just rebuild all that stuff and be completely normal now," they take away from the heroicness of the character.

I agree with your sentament, but in reality (Marvel reality) having shrapnel in your heart in the 21st century really isn't as bad as it was during the Vietmam War. Espescially with friends like Reed Richards. Tony could have a Rad Cube for a heart if he wanted.

Option 3: When he was approached by a mysterious man who wanted to take him into a cave, he did what any rational homeless boy would do. He ran for his life. But later he got curious and he and 5 of his street-kid friends returned to the cave, venturing inside to meet an old wizard who offered to give them the powers and identities of 6 legendary figures.quote]

Scary tentacled muppets teach kids about the Mythos. Don't ask what lives in the trash can!

For the slime-girl. How about the ability to alter the kinds of slime she secretes? A corrosive slime to tunnel and for a HKA. Slippery slime for fast skate like movement or to leave puddles of it to trip up opponents. Maybe even a few different psychoactive slimes for ego attacks or mental illusions (Uncontrolled, like LSD).

  6. Re: Venture Brothers Hero?

I just saw the "Careers in Science" episode. It takes place on Gargantuan 1, Doctor Venture's dad's old space station. I think Brock needs several Safe Environments. He got shot out of a cargo hold, exposed to space and held onto a long cable. Once he got back to safty, he was blue and had large chunks ice on his torso and head. Just 10 minutes later he was up and ready for some nookie.

  7. Re: Regrettable Disads

We had a guy take an incompetent DNPC 14- . This DNPC was named Jocko and he was the unofficial president of the character's fan club. He was always showing up during battles, press confences and later in our base once the character told the AI that Jocko was a friend. He'd plaster everery surface of the downtown area with childishly drawn posters for the Hero's fan club. He once tried to "help" durng a tough super-fight by tieing a towel around his neck for a cape and poking holes in a paper bag to make a mask. Jocko barely made it out of the fight alive and the PC had to leave the fight to get him to the hspital.

Jocko stuck around until the end of the campaign. He became our team mascot after a awhile. He even made it into another character's Disads after a good bit of roleplaying between Jocko and the other PC. He still had some Mystery Disad points left undefined and the GM had Jocko start his fan club, too.

Jocko was always making trouble for the team, but his child-like demeaner kept us from ever pushing him away for good.

I can't wait to pick up this bok! I like the idea of PSI being broken up. I've been restricting the number of free psycics and mentalists in my campaign because they had been scooping them up. Now I can have a huge influx of free mentalists in my game. I've already started coming up with sub-plots. I can't wait to read more.

  9. Re: Golden Age Superheroes as Pulp Heroes

As long as you toned down her powers, Wonder Woman's origin is perfect for Pulp. Daughter of an Amazon queen. Leaves their idillic island to teach the world of Man a better way...

I'd make her tough, but not Superman tough. Keep the bracelets and magic lasso. Great fighting skills. I'm on the fence about the invisible plane, but I believe it fits into a Pulp setting.
