  3. Re: Building a Robin/Nightwing inspired Hero NEED HELP! Thanks... I like that idea
  4. Re: Building a Robin/Nightwing inspired Hero NEED HELP! LOL another question how would one go about constructing a bounce ability... i.e. instead of some kind of grapple, Nightchild uses his athletic ability to bounce from building ledge to ledge, flipping, jumping, etc. I was thinking of Leaping with a limitied form of Cling... is that right? Would this also be better emulated with Flight Only in Contact with a Surface power...
  5. Re: Building a Robin/Nightwing inspired Hero NEED HELP! Alright I gave Nightchild +4 Damage Classes for his Martial Arts and the Weapon Element if I make his Fighting Sticks +2d6 with a strength of 15 that gives him 5d6, with his Damage Class Bonus would that make it 9d6 total?
  6. Re: A slight Revamp of 4th Ed. DEMON
  7. Re: A slight Revamp of 4th Ed. DEMON What about that women that used to bathe in the blood of maidens... I forget the name... Bathory or something? You could get all biblical and use Judas... or Caine... hmm... Prestor John? Oda Nobunaga? So many choices...

  10. Re: Building a Robin/Nightwing inspired Hero NEED HELP! Don't have UMA yet but that is coming in the mail along with UMV but I am going to restat right now and see what happens
  11. Re: Building a Robin/Nightwing inspired Hero NEED HELP! I guess I went overboard my first character I have made with this system... I will restat and try again... your numbers seem a bit more modest... his main schtick is his fighting sticks... and detective skills he learned from his Mentor... he has some secondary ranged gadget attacks... hmm and of course armor weave
  12. Re: Need some name suggestions please Suggested Team Names The Crew Hammer Inc. Wrecking Crew The League Hardcore What is the team known for that may give me a better basis of what to name them? Have they done anything or been associated with anything that might define them? They seem to have a construction motif...
  13. This hero is supposed to be a teenaged sidekick... though he is his own hero in the same way Robin or Nightwing is. He is a martial artists detective with incredible agility, and wield twin fighting sticks with his martial arts, and has some ranged fighting implements to entangle and slow down enemies... just running into point cost problems trying to build him using Nighthawk as a baseline... but not sure if I can get all the points to work... spent 323 so far and have not even gotten to Disadvantages... built on 200 points, 150 Disadvantage points... am I on the right track? 15. Re: Evil Toki's Pantheon Universe I love this... awesome! Thanks!
  16. Re: What Constitutes a HERO 5th Champion? So if I wanted a pretty even fight across the board say 12D6 attacks and about 30-35 defense, that would provide some decent amount of combat... I like fast paced combat but there should be times for the knock down drag em out brawls as well
  17. Re: Does Sapphire bug anyone else? I like Sapphire... she seems refreshing but then again I like most characters everyone has a use even if for just inspiration...
  18. Re: Cool Names for a Superman Tribute Character? LOL that would be bad times to forget to study for that class... I have always been partial to Paragon myself
  19. Re: Evil Toki's Pantheon Universe Paragon Marcus Williams is the second man to bear the name of Paragon. Though most don’t know that Marcus William is Paragon the most beloved super being on the planet by most estimates, Marcus is by all accounts a good man both in and out of costume. The story of Paragon begins just before the outbreak of the Second World War. The original Paragon, Clarence Kemp, a soldier in the army stumbled upon a meteorite in Kansas that had fallen on his parent’s farm. Inside the meteorite was a force, or perhaps a being, this force somehow entered Clarence’s body and the two combined to become the one of the first super beings on the planet, Paragon. The alien force granted Clarence incredible powers which he used to fight for the allies against the axis and their secret serum soldiers. Paragon became a hero of the war, and a champion of the Allies. It was difficult but Clarence Kemp maintained his two separate identities during and after the war. Even to the day of his eventual retirement many do not know just who the original Paragon but his legacy has set the standard for many of the super beings that have followed. The original Paragon had an impressive list of accomplishments among which include saving Earth on dozens of occasions, aiding in many global humanitarian projects, and the formation of the Aegis League of Heroes or ALH. Clarence worked as a reporter for the Olympic City Bugle, mostly freelance work and eventually married his sweetheart, Emma Hopkins towards the end of his career, and the formation of his family is one of the main reasons for his retirement. Although he is approaching ninety years of age, Clarence does not look much older then he did when he first found the meteorite. His bonding with the Paragon force has gifted him with longevity and minor superhuman abilities as opposed to what he used to be capable of. When Clarence finally retired in 1995, the Paragon force left his body and went in search of another worthy successor to the Paragon namesake. The ALH, now simply called just Aegis, was lead by Artemis at this time during the few months that the spirit roamed the planet looking for a worthy successor. In the fall of that year it found Marcus Williams, a young black police officer working in Chicago. Marcus was a good cop with a clean record, an impressive physical specimen, and a man who genuinely cared about the welfare of others. The night he became the next Paragon he nearly lost his life. During a violent shootout Marcus saw a young child caught in the fray, he risked his life braving the firefight to save the child. He was shot several times but shielded the young girl from harm. He brought her back to safety and then collapsed. He thought he was going to die, but when he woke up in the morning, his wounds were healed, and he felt stronger, faster and more powerful then ever. The doctors could not explain his condition and most thought it was a miracle. Over the next few days the Paragon force slowly revealed itself to Marcus, who at first thought he was going crazy, but as his abilities blossomed, he soon began to believe. By the end of the month he took up the mantle of Paragon, donning a costume sans cape that paid homage to the original with a style all his own. By the end of the year he was leader of Aegis, and had proven to the world that he was the real deal. The defining moment was his classic clash with the forces of the Dark Caesar, leading Aegis to victory over a force that seemed invincible. In the intervening years Marcus has settled into his new role, and still feels the shadow of the old Paragon, but he has proven time and time again, that he is the real deal. He is incredibly charismatic, and just as morally upright as his predecessor but also much savvier of the world, and more apt to take a more direct hand in matters. Marcus also maintains his private identity and his public one, and although he would have liked to continue working as a cop he knew his new role would not be compatible to that lifestyle. Now he works as a writer, creating crime stories and some work with Pantheon Comics on some of their titles. But his work as Paragon is never done, and he is kept incredibly busy as the leader of Aegis. It is not how Marcus expected his life to end up, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. Personality/Behavior: Paragon is a good person both in and out of costume. He is extremely likeable very down to earth, and always dependable. He gives of himself all the time, and despite his great power he tempers it with great humility and care. Even before becoming Paragon he was this way, his new powers have only amplified his kindness and sense of good. At the same time Marcus is a jokester at times, and is very much a people person. He leads by example and would never ask anyone to do anything he wouldn’t do himself. His teammates know this and respect him for that. He often puts his personal life on hold because of his work. He is driven to prove himself, because he lives in the old Paragon’s shadow, at least in his mind. He is driven because he feels he has something to prove coming from a modest background, and also because he is an African American in the enviable position of being one of the most powerful people on the planet. He tries to present the most positive image he can, and so far he has done quite well, he tends to overcompensate some would say, but that is how Marcus is. The Paragon force inside of him communicates to him, though not so much in words as it does in images and feelings. He finds it odd at times sharing his body with this force or spirit, but has found it invaluable as it has all the knowledge of the old Paragon to give him insights into old and new foes alike. The force has no name that he knows of and he just calls it, the Force. This gets some snickers from his companions. It has no real bearing on his personality but seems to have a predisposition to helping others and fighting against injustice. Marcus is the ultimate boy-scout, which annoys some of his peers. He clings to ideals that some consider antiquated in this new age, but for all their cynicism he still gets results and makes things work. But his idealism has made him a target of younger heroes and villains alike who think he should either get with the times or just step aside and let the real men do the job and handle the bad guys in a more permanent manner. Throughout all this Paragon has started a romance with his fellow teammate, Artemis although the romance itself is rather secret and very much in its infancy, the attraction and emotions are there for something deeper between the two. Appearance: Paragon is an impressive physical specimen both in and out of uniform. He usually dresses in comfortable yet stylish clothes, and usually wears his glasses, before the change he needed them, but after he just wears them, because he likes the look. As Paragon he wears a Blue and white costume with red stylized “P†worked into the chest design, homage to the old suit. He always has his trademark red shades on as well to complete his new modern look. He is bald and has an attractive face and dazzling smile. He is a very handsome African American male. Powers and Abilities: Paragon is incredibly strong, easily the strongest member of the team, and has amazing reflexes. Although the older Paragon could only jump far distances; this newer Paragon can now fly at incredible speeds. His body is super tough, and regenerates at incredible speed. These abilities alone make him dangerous but Paragon can also manipulate fusion energy creating fusion energy blasts, survive extreme environment by creating a thin field of energy around himself, and even with great effort split his body into pure fusion energy and move great distances in the blink of an eye effectively teleporting. Just looking for suggestion on how to build this guy with basically 600 points with 100 points of disadvantages, yeah he is powerful, but he is the premier guy I also want to emulate the memory imprint in the Paragon Force. How it can add to his skills, albeit by just giving him the knowledge right when he needs it... I hope he sounds interesting. Basically a Brick with some energy manipulation powers.
  20. Re: Cool Names for a Superman Tribute Character? Yes he is he is Centurion and died during the Terminus invasion...
  21. Working on a new superheroic setting to base my adventures in, be it Mutants & Masterminds or Champions with FRED, which is what I prefer at this point because of the utility of the system. SO I plan to post any stuff here that I cook up for it... but also looking for advice as well... since I enjoy world-building. I decided to start with the Premier Team of he setting... Aegis Aegis Team Composition • Spirit empowered brick/original legacy leader; powers of flight, super strength, light energy manipulation, and very tough hero; black male, second in line to hold the title, moral compass of the team, the ultimate boy scout • Goddess avatar of Artemis; master of the bow with a mystical bent, an effective tactician and leader but not very current with the modern era at times, though she has learned much about how the world operates; she is a master hunter and martial artist as well; she appears of Greek descent and has an alternate identity • Crystalline humanoid, appears male, an alien being from another world/universe/dimension with control over energy manipulation and can use this energy control to create holes in space, and slide between locations; the alien being is highly intelligent and forms an intellectual friendship with another intellectual member of the team • Another legacy hero, this time the mutant son of a supreme normal hero; a dark avenger of the night in the same vein with powers of darkness and low-level precognition, coupled with extreme training and ambition, the member of the team willing to do anything to get the job done • Atlantis born noble; one of the premier mystics/wizards on the planet, being an atlantean he is long-lived and very aloof to the team, and finds much of the “mundane†world to be amusing if somewhat backward, he is probably the most powerful member of the team, though much of his power is in his knowledge, and the versatility of his magic; an outcast of his people because of his usage of magic, he is still something of hero especially after his role of averting the military coup by one of his students • A child mentalist with extreme powers and little experience or self-control, at the age of 14 she has powers that rivals some of the most experienced at powerful mentalists on the globe, it is expected that by the time she reaches adult hood her power will be in a class by itself, but despite this, she is very sheltered, mild-mannered, and in awe of her peers Some notes, I already have names for the first two. The flying brick/original is Paragon who is actually a human being with some alien force/spirit inhabiting hi body giving him super powers. He is the second human being to be given these powers, the first having retired in 1995 after over sixty years of service. By being merged with the spirit for so long he picked up of its powers and was gifted with longevity, though his powers are on a much lower level then they were. The second heroine is the goddess Artemis, or at least an avatar of the ancient goddess. She is lethal, somewhat clueless of modern society, and a deadly combantant in hand to hand combat and a huntress. But her surpreme ability is her enchanted bow, and her cache of mystical arrows with which she dispenses justice and hunts down prey. I don't have a speedster per se, but I can modify the crystallin ealien for this purpose. I just don't have names or any other hooks for the others, so any help or suggestions would be welcome... world info will come in time... hopefully defined by these heroes, since they stand as THE group... some are old gurd, some new... and I will use them to define the role of superheroes in the world.
  22. Re: What Constitutes a HERO 5th Champion? I see so I just have to eye it... hmm...
  23. Just wondering I hear things like benchmarks, and how the Champions as written don't measure up to what a standard chracter could do. In my mind I am trying to figure out how would a standard character 200 points with 150 Disadvatage Points for characters be built, what would be standard defenses for such a character, the amount of damage? Just wondering what kind of baselines should I shoot for?
  24. Re: The Raven - dark avenger of the night (Batman Tribute) I like the homage... very cool character
  25. Re: Upon Further Review: The Champions I like that example Acroyear very cool
