Here's a fun exercise for our gamification pleasure.  One person will state some race, class,  archetype,  or essentially anything else that they desire for the next person to describe.  However,  it cannot be used in the traditional manner,  there needs to be something that is different from conventional manner. For example,  a taboxoxi could be written up as some form of demon-sprung warrior. 

 

First up: elves

So... Vulcans or Aeldari, but something original that checks the same boxes?  Trying to make sure I understand before posting a real answer.

From my elemental fantasy world, each race is associated with one of the four classic elements.  Elves are Water.  Natively breathe water, extra swimming, live in an archipelago, though the actual capital is underwater.

Magical attacks or abilities (up to three?) that would be more at home in a sci-fi setting.  Ex: A withering sickness caused by radiation.

Fireball. Pretty obvious.

 

Flight. Also obvious.

 

Transform. 

We already have bacteria that can ‘digest’ rock and leave behind a single metal; iron, aluminum, even gold.

We also have the ability to manipulate DNA. 
How about … programmable micro-organisms that can create patches for spaceships hulls or repair broken bones, muscles, and skin, or spacesuits or blasters or ….
