Cancer
Re: The Last Word Actually, I don't think so. I think their lease prohibited pets at the time. (In truth, that's not so. My folks weren't married or cohabitating at the time I was conceived.)

Cancer
Re: The Last Word We led a gypsy existence, moving frequently. I don't think my folks bought a house until I was 10, and they sold that two years later. They didn't buy again until between my sophomore and junior years of college. AliceTheOwl
Re: The Last Word Silly me. When I was little, I WANTED to move. My parents still own the house I grew up in, and live in it. Man, is it a sty.
Cancer
Re: The Last Word Well, I have a number of bad habits involving home & yard maintenance that come directly from an upbringing where you don't own where you live, and you knew you'd be gone from a place in three years or less. An awful lot of things are "why bother?" when you have those circumstances.
AliceTheOwl
Re: The Last Word Oddly, the way I've been moving around lately, I've been developing habits to keep things cleaner and neater than I'm used to. Dusting the ceiling, bleaching the shower to prevent any mildew, vacuuming more often, that kind of thing. It's because I know I'll have to clean it when I move, otherwise, and that's a severe pain. AliceTheOwl
Re: The Last Word Oh. Yeah, I hear about those, but I don't think I have one. If I do, it's always been the plumber's job to clean them, not mine. Hmm. Now you have me wondering if the new place has a garbage compactor. I think it does, but I'm not certain . . . Sorry, bit of a non sequitur. I'm prone to those. Speaking of plastic spoons . . .
