Chris Goodwin
How would you build Aahz? I can build a scaly green demon easily enough. What I'm curious about is building someone who knows lots of spells, and can't cast them but can teach them. Any ideas?
CourtFool
Re: Aahz I am not familiar with Aahz, but I would think based on your description KS: Spells and PS: Teacher. If you want to be silly, Transform into Spellcaster with RSR Teaching.
keithcurtis
Re: Aahz The actual specifics would depend on how you have modelled your magic system. Do people need to spend points per spell? Personally, I think Court Fool has nailed it. Give him some knowledge skills. Aahz lost his abilities in book one. That he ever had them was pretty much a plot device. Eosin
Re: Aahz If you were feeling like working your arse off you could write up all of his spells - they all need an RSR: Magic and then don't give him the magic skill. He knows the spells but since he cannot make the skill roll??

Chris Goodwin
Re: Aahz I've always done it by spending points per spell. Giving him KS: Spells sounds about right. There's no game mechanical means for learning a spell other than spending the points on it. Thanks everyone!
Supreme
Re: Aahz No Concious Control? Nope. NCC means that the spells would go off, just not when he intended. I also vote for the copious knowledge skills.
tm80401
Re: Aahz A truly sick way to do it would be to create a perk that gives access to spellcasting. Make it a 10 to 15 point perk/talent, and then give each spell a 1/4 limitation that you have to have the perk/talent to cast it. Then spend a boatload of points on spells that he doesn't have the prerequisite to cast.
