Grymour
Hello all, I was just wondering if anyone has ever converted MP to Hero, or if they know where a conversion exists. Years ago, an old gaming buddy of mine first introduced me to Hero system by playing MP converted to that system. It was great and I would love to play/run a game again. Thank you... take care and be well, Grymour
shadowcat1313
Re: Has anyone ever converted Morrow Project to Hero? shouldnt be hard to do a conversion really, use agent level heroes, modern weapons for the most part. there is some high tech gear, such as the fusion power plant for the vehicles, and the HAMM suits, but otherwise its pretty much a straight up modern game with an assortment of mutant critters and other fun things. Guest Major Tom
Re: Has anyone ever converted Morrow Project to Hero? I've been thinking about doing just such a conversion of TMP to HERO System format, but while I have most of the necessary HERO books to begin the work, I've decided to wait until the July release of TMP 4th Ed. before I start, as there is supposed to be some new material and a revised timelime in the new version. Grymour
Re: Has anyone ever converted Morrow Project to Hero? where to start, you see last year I lost a lot of stuff during Hurricane Jeanne.. this included ALL of my Marrow project stuff, what I am really looking for is a PDF file or web site where this stuff may have been stored. Eventually I'll get around to re-collecting all of the products for MP again. However until then I was just looking to at least get a game going again. I also lost pages and pages of material that I had copied from older Hero products, such as damage dice by gun calabire, what effect different kinds of Ammo do (ex. Hollow points, AP and the like), I think this has hurt me more in the long run then the lose of some of my books. Thank you Grymour
Lord Liaden
Re: Has anyone ever converted Morrow Project to Hero? For tons of stats for all kinds of modern guns and ammo types, I strongly recommend the new Dark Champions genre book for 5E HERO. That's one of its strongest suits. It also contains good advice for running "weird conspiracy" campaigns which you might benefit from. Despite its title DC is not a subgenre of Champions, and only a small part of the book deals with street-level superheroes. It's actually a sourcebook for the whole range of modern adventure gaming: crimefighting, military, espionage, black ops etc.

Thank you Grymour For TMP material such as home-brewed adventures, descriptions of equipment that could concievably make it into a campaign as well as vehicles that could be used by MP PCs, not to mention guns and other hardware, I'd like to suggest that you check out The Supply Bunker website. It's a virtual goldmine of downloadable post-apocalyptic goodies written up primarily for TMP, but I don't see any reason that they couldn't be adapted to a HERO System Post- Apocalypse campaign. While some of the adventures are fairly short in terms of how many pages that they take up (between 4 to 8 pages long, for the most part), I did find one adventure that ran 130+ pages long. I've been trying to remember the name of that adventure so that I can download it and add it to the others that I've collected from the site so far. As for the original TMP modules, Timeline LTD. is rereleasing the original Project Files as well as publishing new material. And as I mentioned previously, TMP 4th Edition is supposed to be coming out this July. Hope this helps you out some. Grymour also mentioned interest in different types of ammo, though, and for that it would be hard to find more descriptive detail than what's in Dark Champions. Grymour
Re: Has anyone ever converted Morrow Project to Hero? Thank you all for your suggestions and advice, I am going to get Dark Champions as well as the TMP stuff as the funds become available. I believe I have seen the Supply Bunker in the past and will go there as soon as I am done here. Again thank you all.... Glupii
Re: Has anyone ever converted Morrow Project to Hero? Tancred is running us through a PA game right now that he used a very clever mechanic to begin. All the players were told was that we were starting a modern heroic level game and we would be expected to take on paramilitary and civilization building type missions. We were to be hired by a super secret organization that was affiliated with no gov't or military. We played it out for a night and at the end of the night we were told we would be tested on a cryogenic freeze process. If all went well and our bodies could withstand it, we would be brought out in 2 weeks. If any of us started showing signs of trouble with the process, (we would be closely monitored) then that person would be brought out immediatly. that was how we ended the night. The next week, we all woke to a darkened chamber with only bare minimum lighting to eventually discover that much more than 2 weeks had gone by and that something happened during our two week period that prevented us from being brought out of stasis, and it was only when the power levels finally got too low to continue to sustain the cryo units was an automatic awakening proceedure initiated by the base computer. Moreover we discovered that whatever happened, also seems to have wiped out civilization as we know it. And the story begins. It was awsome! And it remains to be one of the most fun campaigns we have ever played. Obviously borrowed heavilly from MP as well as a little gamma world and other sources. Guest Major Tom
Re: Has anyone ever converted Morrow Project to Hero? For anyone who's interested, the GURPS Survivor fanpage is currently archived at the Internet Archive Wayback Machine website (and no, it has absolutely nothing to do with that cheesy, backstabbing show currently running on CBS). For those who don't know what this site was about, it was a fan-based website that was geared toward creating a post-apocalypse setting/campaign guide for GURPS. It disappeared from the regular 'Net some time ago, but fortunately was found and stored in the IAWM's library. The files are, for the most part, complete (the only file that wasn't archived was the "Timeline" section, but since most GMs use their own timelines in their PA campaigns, this isn't a major problem). bermuda_shorts
Re: Has anyone ever converted Morrow Project to Hero? What was the domain name of the "GURPS Survivor fanpage"? Without the domain name it appears impossible to retrieve the site from the wayback machine at archive.org. Better yet, do you have a direct like to the archived page. Thanks! I sure do, and here it is: http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Arcade/8883 When you enter the domain name into the IAWM's search field, the first thing that will come up is a calendar-like listing showing when the page was last up- dated (in the case of this page, the last time that it was updated was back in 2001). Clicking on the date will take you right to the Mindbench page (that's what the page used to be called when it was on the 'Net). Guest Major Tom
Re: Has anyone ever converted Morrow Project to Hero? Worked like a charm. Thanks! Always happy to help out a fellow gamer. BTW, I did get the TMP conversions in my e-mail with no problem, but I'm going to wait until I can get a printout of the stuff before I give you any feedback/input. My computer's been doing evil things lately, and I don't want to be in the middle of reading the material onscreen if the Infernal Mechanism decides to crash on me. Thanks for sending this stuff. Guest Major Tom
Re: Has anyone ever converted Morrow Project to Hero? Bermuda_Shorts: I've finally been able to look over the TMP Equipment Pack- ages in HERO format that you sent me some time ago, and they look great. So great, in fact, that I plan on using them when I get around to running my own PA campaign. Thanks again for sending them. Just out of curiousity, have you thought about coming up with some alternate EPs designed around some of the more up-to-date weapons that have come out in the last few years?
