Re: WWYCD: An Alien among them

Champion Wind will have serious problems starting immediately upon arrival. She looks like an underaged Valkyrie, complete with armour, helm, shield, winged horse, and an axe with a blade apparently made of roiling stormclouds. Even when not transformed, she's very hard to miss in her brightly coloured clothing, and being an obvious alien will not help. Probably, she'll try to get enough local currency for a meal by busking (she's an excellent flautist, and instrumental music doesn't need a common language). Of course, the authorities are guaranteed to show up before the end of her first set, but at least she's not an obvious conqueror type. After that, things will get complicated; she doesn't react well to "I'm in charge because I say so" types.

Faye would probably be a bit more emphatic about not going with the government types, and she's got the power to back it up. For her, getting money will be easier: Go to a construction site and start hauling girders without a crane. At the end of the shift, go to the foreman and make the universal "pay up" gesture. A 690 point telekinetic pretty well makes her own rules; once she's got a steady income and understands the local language, she'll start trying to work on a way back home.

Ika will probably run for the nearest wild area, then try to contact the spirts. What else would you expect from a timelost cavegirl?

Re: WWYCD: An Alien among them

Hellfire: Will run. She'll fly out of the city and find some uninhabited area where she'll keep a low profile, learning how to survive by herself and avoiding the natives until and unless one of them approaches her alone and tries to make contact. If the local military chases her, she'll just keep running. 1940s aircraft can't keep up with her.

Wizard: Will improvise. He'll steal local concealing clothing, assuming the natives are bipeds and eavesdrop on local broadcasts until his computer has a sufficient local database to learn the local language and he's developed a better disguise technology. Then he'll go into business, and start building a massive megacorporation using his technological edge. He was a pretty small time operator on his homeworld, a some-what advanced gadgeteering lightweight by comparison with the real supergeniuses, but on a world that is 50 years less advanced, and devoid of competition, he could make Reed Richards look like a piker.

Riptide: Will surrender to the local authorities unless they try to kill him, giving no sign of just how tough and fast he is. He'll let them teach him the language in the process of trying to interrogate him. Once he thinks he knows the basics, he'll try to make friends. If that doesn't work, he'll just crank up the superspeed and make a break for it.

Re: WWYCD: An Alien among them

Ok, we will start with my oldest C first and work down. BTW I do alot of homage heroes.

Firebird: Superspeedster with flame powers, he has limited tech skills, learn the language, and become a hero. No way home. Live out he's life on this planet.

Badger: Wolverine homage. Find a pub, get a drink. Find if they have a local tobacco, smoke. Find food, eat it to see if will kill him, if it does---he'll be back, if not eats. He is a fighter, so he'd either become a hero or villian.

The Ghost: Space Ghost homage, language no probleam. Hide no probleam-invis and desol. Build a transmitter and send a message. Wait and learn. Is not a hero but an alien historian.

Crossfire: Techno-Ninja, high intell, understand's high tech. Hide till he learns the language and the local laws. Work below the 'radar' be a hero.

Slowly find away to advance the local's tech. Hope that he's team finds a way to find him and until then do what he always does......be a hero.

Titan Mk 7: A Cyborg homage, he is walking super-tech. He would learn the language at lighting speed due to 'Brother', an intragrated super-computer. Advance the tech and if needed, do the hero bit.

Elastic Man: Mr. Fantastic homage, work to advance the race. Be a hero. Find a way home.

The Traveler: Look around, smile then exit stage-Trans Dimensional.

Avatar: Alien asexual shape-changing android. Use shape-changing powers to adapt to local race. Language will adapt. Be a hero/spy.

PAX: Cable homage, be a hero. Use telepathy to figure out the language. Become local equalivent of a PI.

Questor: Energy Superman homage. Use powers to figure out if he is still in this galaxey and then where is Earth. Head home at mutli-light speeds.

Ca'Rom Holt: Dawnstar homage but male. Use powers to figure out where he is and then head for home at 16 LY/phase-speed 7.

Flame: Human Torch/Sunfire homage. No way home he hopes that he's teachers can find him, some advanced skills, Age 16. Hiro would be a hero-couldn't help it. Unless the natives desuide that a flaming figure is evil-then hide, and still try to be a hero.

Snowfall: Iceman homage, female. No way home he hopes that her teachers can find her, some advanced skills, Age 16. Helena would be a hero-couldn't help it. Unless the natives desuide that a ice covered figure is evil-then hide, and still try to be a hero.

Bearcat: see Badger above.

Keslin Zane: Alien Demon/Human hybrid, with shadow powers, horns and tail. Language would be no probleam, has tech that gives him UT. Depending on how he's apperance is taken, become a techno that advances the race's tech above 21st Century and to the Stars.

Kam E'Ron N'Kadie: Normal human, no powers. Kam has equipment that would allow communication. Medical Officer, with knowledge that is 2000 yrs beyond Earth Level Tech. Resign himself to staying and helping these people.

NightWarrior: Combo Dare Devil/Spiderman homage. Law Student, with some tech skills. Language would have to be learned, as would laws. Would become a cop if allowed.

Electric Blue: KOS-MOS influenced, but now an Android made flesh. Knows her mom will move heaven and Earth to find her. Has UT and would become a hero.

Re: WWYCD: An Alien among them

Style-"Hmm. First things first; Fade." Style turns invisible (if magic works the same way here) and starts reading minds and casting divinations until he can get a sense of where and when he is. He should be able to find the local version of a mystic or astrophysicist eventually, and after that he has a reasonable chance of finding the direction to his Earth. He'll try not to interfere any more than he has to with this world, though that doesn't mean he'll turn his back on obvious dangers to innocents.

Flesh Gordon- "Lost and alone on an alien world, and I still look good. Time for a dramatic pose! Hey, they're shooting at me! Ow! Stop that, alien dudes! I come in peace, bearing the wisdom of Earth and the United States of America!"

"OK, better run."

"Hey, that green girl looks pretty good. Hello, princess. Flesh Gordon, space adventurer. And you are?"

"Ow! OK, thing to remember: Space girls got guns."

"Lucky I learned how to build a Babel Box back in V'Han's labor spa. Just slip into this hardware store and borrow some parts. Hello, shopkeep."

"Wow. Space shotgun."

Eventually Flesh finds the parts for a Babel Box and manages to disguise himself more or less as a native, mainly through luck. Almost inevitably he'll get involved in kidnappings, chases, and possibly a planetary revolution, which might be a shame if this was actually a peaceful planet minding it's own business. Eventually he'll find some means of getting hoime, either with the grateful assistance of someone he's helped or the angry cursing of someone he's annoyed.

Re: WWYCD: An Alien among them

The Swarmling has knowledge of how humans on Earth reacted to the first alien visitors after the war, i.e. tried to blow them up! It would go to ground as best it could, and probably discorporate into his constituent rats. It would then try and learn the local language. It would also try to awaken the local City Spirit but fail miserably as it doesn't even understand it's own awakenings.

The interesting problem is it's "resurection" of it's constituent rats. It doesn't actually resurect them, it just incorporates a new rat into the group-spirit. After a couple of it's rats are killed, which probably can't be avoided, it'll end up incorporating the local equivalent. That may cause problems when it get's home.

Alternatively, it could leave them behind, effectively "killing" them off. How would this world respond to it's own swarmling, when lingering energies within those rat-equivalents finally awaken the local city spirit?

Re: WWYCD: An Alien among them

Terminus has already been in this situation once, albeit not as badly - he came to the campaign world hunting criminals from his own parallel earth.

So, what works once would probably work again. Surrender to the local authorities, learn the language - and probably become a superhero for them too. It's waht he was made for, after all.

On Champions-Earth, people had gotten somewhat used to aliens just popping up unannounced. On this world it could very well be the first time it has ever happened.

Re: WWYCD: An Alien among them

Tao might be in for trouble from the locals as she's rather heavily armed but would retain her cool enough to not attack unless provoked and even then only defensively. Assuming she could keep out of much trouble, her abilities would allow her to grasp the local langauge(s) fairly quickly and then her priorities would be contacting someone with knowledge of just where she was and where it was in relation to Earth, then finding a way to get back there. She would not be above offering her services as to the local authorities as a bounty hunter or even mercanary for some form of money, but if that's nto possible she physically strong and resilant so base labor is generally a universal commodity though how easy any of this would be would depend on freakish she looked to the natives and what their reactions would be (eventually try to communicate or haul her off to the local equivalent of "Area 51")

Ivy could commune with the local incarnation The Green and learn her general location in regards to the rest of it and use her abilities to "hop" from inhibiated planet to planet and slowly make her way home. She could try to avoid contact with the locals as much as possible, expecting that they act much like bumans would in a similar situation: try to find some way to capture, kill or vivisect her.

Eve would be quite freaked out at first, very much the little girl lost but would eventually regain her wits enough to use to learn the local lanquage and find a "grown up" that would be willing to help. Her appearnace would probably draw more stares and reaction than others, but hopefully her natural charm would win someone over eventually. With the proper resouces she could probably determine where she is and give her tech skill could likely construct some means to return to Earth, which would be her first priority (aside from being a good girl and helping whenever she could, of course). This planet's less advanced technology would be a major issue for her since one of her powers sets is based on interaction with advanced machines. She's probably think of creating something to help her blend in more, like personal holo projector that would cloak her appearance.

Except in this case would they by "I'm in charge because I say so" types? They'd be the actual authorities on this world, not just some random thugs that showned up to annoy her. She's the stranger here, not them. That's like a US citizen going to another country and putting up a fuss because the local police "don't have authority over them".

Going to a construction site and just starting using her TK to haul stuff around and then demanding payment would likely cause allot of trouble. From the OP, I get in the indication this world not only doesn't have aliens but doesn't superpoweres (at least not to the same degree as "Earth). It would be sort of like a Gray walking into a local construction site and doing the same thing in the real world. Panic (and comedy) would ensue.

Re: WWYCD: An Alien among them

OK, multiple moons and an alien world. Tech level circa 30's to 50's by all appearances. Local humanoids are definitely not the same phenotype as humans and there's no free local language conversion effect going. What to do?

Well, none of my guys are the world-conquering opportunist types so that's not a problem.

Gallant- He can be reasonably discrete and stealthy, so it's off to the rooftops to hide out til he susses out just who to approach for decent chances at communication. In the meantime, if there's local problems such as violent crime, that's not too complicated to figure out. Carefully confront the criminals keeping circumspect concerning crushing criminal collarbones. Mangling steel in his bare hands should prove sufficiently deterring to them.

It's gonna take a while to pick up the local language and he'll try not to horrify people too much. Good thing he's immortal.

Thunderbolt- well, he's got a few really useful mystic rituals that'll make this much simpler to blend in. He's got an ear for language and can use translation magic til he gets a good feel for it. As to appearance, well, he's already using a glamour in his normal ID to disguise his being about 50 years younger than he should be. Tweak that and he's capable of blending in. Using translation spells, he's see about selling fiction and finally find a use for that SC Chemistry he hasn't used since the writing career took off. Meanwhile, fighting crime is near and dear to his heart. In what spare time he can find, he'll see what the locals have in the mystic lore department and work on spells to probe the hole in spacetime he tore landing here.

Doremo- time to dust off the old ninjutsu techniques and fade into the woodwork. He's pretty pragmatic so swiping food until he can find a way to honestly earn a living isn't gonna make him lose sleep. His allies in the superhuman community would be working to retrieve him and they've got some experience in dimensional physics and other mad sciences. He'll bide his time, work on learning the language(s) and see what they might have in the way of local martial arts. Never know what you may learn. As to crimefighting, he's gonna bone up on local physiology to avoid killing people on accident but he's certainly not going to let innocents suffer no matter what they look like.

Kid Dynamo- "Aw, man! Not another alien world!" Regardless of his complaints he's going to get involved. Meanwhile, he'll see about getting his safety locks undone in the hopes of remodeling his body (temporarily) into something more suited to local appearances. At least right now he's not stuck in grade school.

I doubt he's coming out of Combat Mode anytime soon. Wonder if the human body he's been cursed with will remodel itself when he retools his Combat Mode? As to getting home, that's gonna take serious local tech uplifting. This could be a while...

As to local lack of superbeings, Doremo isn't going to give it much thougt while the other three know one superhuman leads to more. Moreover, McCoy's dolphin character missed one other obvious problem. The PC, whoever he/she/it may be, just appeared at the far end of a breech in spacetime. If that's not an excuse for the locals to start experiencing 'origins', I don't know what is.
