OddHat
Re: Retcon the CU You could spend 800 points on followers' date=' vehicles, and bases. Between the Fortress of Solitude, the Crime College, the Valley of the Vanished, his mid-town [i']pied a terre[/i] atop the Empire State Building, all with their attendant staff -- Yup. Susano
Re: Retcon the CU Yup. The Spider would keep coming at you despite his multiple gaping bullet wounds' date=' and still get to the black tie party that night, whereas Hugo Danner (from Gladiator, published in 1930) would just bounce the bullets (though he was a one novel character rather than part of a series). Invisibility, hypnosis, exotic martial arts, astral projection, immortality, telepathy, super strength (look at John Carter alone), one strange power after another showed up in the Pulps.[/quote'] Speaking of John Carter, here is my version of him, based on just the first three books. He clocks in at a mere 630+ points. http://surbrook.devermore.net/adaptionsbook/erb/johncarter.html I fully suspect the final version would be between 700 and 800 points. A great write-up, and an important character in the evolution of the modern superhero.
Susano
Re: Retcon the CU A great write-up' date=' and an important character in the evolution of the modern superhero.[/quote'] Oh, speaking of pulps and write-ups... I picked up the last volume of Del Ray's Robert E Howard collections (The Conquering Sword of Conan), which means I am now ready to start developing what I hope will be a definitive Conan character sheet, based on only what REH wrote. Of course, I need to finish reading The Chronicles of Master Li and Number 10 Ox and decide if its feasible to do a character sheet for those two.... I want to see that, I just got the call yesterday that my pre-order copy was in, though I'm a trifle disappointed that Del Rey will be calling it quits with just the three Conans, Bran Mak Morn, and Solomon Kane. I was hoping to get a King Kull out of them too. Oh well-- back to the University of Nebraska Press (Once I get all the Del Rey Howard books I'll get all of theirs too.) Now that I'd love to see. Complete with a slight flaw in his character. "Slight"
