BobGreenwade
Re: 20 Things You Didn't Know About Living In Space Regarding #12: 12 More explosion paranoia: Virgin Galactic, Richard Branson’s space-tourism company, reportedly considered barring women with breast implants due to fears that they might blow up.Someone needs to inform Virgin Galactic that this is a proven myth -- a woman will die of suffocation long before her breast implants would explode, assuming they would at all. Maur
Re: 20 Things You Didn't Know About Living In Space I'm sure they could, but probably not before the body was dead. High temp, low external pressure. Hmm... I wonder how much pressure the plastic shell can take before it rips.
tkdguy
Re: 20 Things You Didn't Know About Living In Space 16 The shuttle commode requires that astronauts align themselves precisely in the dead center of the seat. A mock-up of the shuttle toilet, complete with built-in camera, is used to train them how to position themselves. I assume this is called the rear-view mirror? What? Cancer
Re: 20 Things You Didn't Know About Living In Space I have been told (by an astronaut who's flown) that taking pictures of you while you're asleep up there is a serious breach of astronaut etiquette. The few pics of sleepers in space have been taken on orders from down below. Unless you're restrained, apparently everyone tends to go into the same sort of hands-raised position.
