Thia Halmades
Re: Shadowcats Vault of Insanity: Adult Red Dragon KS hates me for this. I'll go home tonight and do a translation and compare the two. I don't have any points of reference, so from here he looks very "eh, okay, it's a dragon." I can't figure why you have the Breath Weapon as an EB, though, seeing the damn thing can melt rocks. Mmm... UEP rules...
shadowcat1313
Re: Shadowcats Vault of Insanity: Adult Red Dragon thats why I post stuff.... to get other/better wierder ideas, I have a standard template for the basic stuff.. bear in mind also, this version is from the 3.0 Players Handbook, so if theres errata out there, I dont have it
Thia Halmades
Re: Shadowcats Vault of Insanity: Adult Red Dragon I'll do a 3.5 edition version; it may not be that different, but I'll also employ my VPP rules to give slappy a Magic Pool and see how that turns out. Like I said, I have to do mine and then look at yours and go "Hmm, okay, I see this... this... OH, that's why it looks like that!" I'll post it when it's done. Prolly take me about an hour or so. MorpheousXO
Re: Shadowcats Vault of Insanity: Adult Red Dragon Reminds me of the Conversion I did of the entire Gold Dragon line, which I actually converted as a divine dragon but used the Gold as a base. Still haven't gotten around to posting it yet though XD. Anyways, looks good, maybe I'll try converting the Red Dragon into a Fire Dragon
MorpheousXO
Re: Shadowcats Vault of Insanity: Adult Red Dragon Actually, here's a question, why do you have +3 INT Only for sense rolls instead of another Enhanced senses point? Especially since that +3 INT won't actually give him another +1 on any rolls (unless there's another INT buff somewhere I didn't notice). Also, for his Sorcerer levels that he should have you should use KS's sorcerer stuff. Although what I'd do is give him a Fire VPP representing that he has control over Fire not Magic, but that's just me.
Corven_Ren
Re: Shadowcats Vault of Insanity: Adult Red Dragon Dont know about 3e and beyond but red dragons (like gold & silver) used to be able to polymorph into human form. shadowcat1313
Re: Shadowcats Vault of Insanity: Adult Red Dragon the borrowed 3E monster manual I have doesnt talk about reds being able to shapeshift, unless I was looking in the wrong place, I was using the alertness feat conversion from Killer Shrikes site
Killer Shrike
Re: Shadowcats Vault of Insanity: Adult Red Dragon I was using the alertness feat conversion from Killer Shrikes site Huh? I recall Alertness converting as PER bonuses.
Killer Shrike
Re: Shadowcats Vault of Insanity: Adult Red Dragon BTW, here is the SRD for OGL D&D 3.5, which includes the basic MM's: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35
shadowcat1313
Re: Shadowcats Vault of Insanity: Adult Red Dragon ok, slaps forehead and tries to figure out how the old version from ThreeD6s feat conversions ended up in his template 1 Alertness: +2 INT (2 Active Points); Only applies to Sense Rolls (-2) my bad

When I read that, I was like the travelling gnome... "No way!" lol I checked my old AD&D books (1st and 2nd Ed) - I find no mention of the red dragon being able to shapeshift in either edition. I recall reading somewhere (perhaps an old Dragon Magazine article) that any red dragon would loathe to lower itself to such an inferior physical form.... Dragons were always my favorite monsters! Gadodel
Re: Shadowcats Vault of Insanity: Adult Red Dragon Maybe I missed it, but what does it do to accomplish the age old dragon ability to generate fear? PRE attack or something else?
shadowcat1313
Re: Shadowcats Vault of Insanity: Adult Red Dragon this is an adult age dragon, but the PRE based fear attack gets stronger as the dragon gets older
