I want to create a package for a modern day pirate, but I'm not sure what kinds of skills one would have, since I am not very nautical myself. They board commercial vessels and force the crew to surrender. They usually prefer kidnapping or hostage taking to murder and may be more interested in the crew and their personal belongings + wages than in cargo as such. They have also been known to steal ships and repaint them to sell or use; that kind of trick usually requires help from corrupt officials. I'd suggest. Bribery. Persuasion. (Intimidation). Trading. Navigation. (Marine). Demolition. (Sabotaging ships only, -1). TF: Small and Large Motorised boats. WF: Small Arms. (Perhaps just rifles, shotguns, handguns and submachine guns/assault rifles). Other possibilities. PS: Satellite Navigator or Radar Operator. (To spot targets). PS: Kidnapper. AK: Local Seas. Appropriate melee WF. Somali pirates have already been mentioned here, but let's not forget that there are other places on Earth that have been -- and continue to be -- plagued by modern-day pirates. For example, the Philippine Islands and places like Indonesia and Thailand. Of course, some folks think that George W. is a pretty good example of a modern-day pirate... Major Tom A.K.A.
