AnotherSkip
I'm building Supers Characters for my campaign. These characters have a slightly strange divide in my camapign World. I am looking for West Coast Superhero ideas/classics/Icons The East and West coast characters (the mighty Missippi is the demarkation of the characters groupings) are generally pulled to be repersenative of their regions. They should be a quite balanced powerful group of supers that are primarily drawn from the Western Iconic ideals (think: good fit for the West Coast Avengers, LA style Superteams, etc...) (although some like Superman and Batman are slightly more East Coast, Captain America and Wonder Woman would be Universal and they dont have to be just 'Western') So Who/what would you think would be a good choice for INclusion in a West Coast Avengers style Group? Clonus
Re: Favorite Character West of the Missippi The West is where Marvel tended to put it's monster heroes. Werewolf By Night, Ghost Rider, Hannibal King, Spider-Woman, the Hulk (who spent an awful lot of time wandering around in the Southwest. Daimon Hellstrom was in Saint Louis, halfway between. It's also good for any hero who has movie connections or celebrity tendencies, such as Blue Devil, Wonder Man, Ghost Rider and Wally West. assault
Re: Favorite Character West of the Missippi Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) was in Coast City for a while. I've always read it as being on the Pacific. The Flash (Barry Allen) was in Central City, which I saw as, well, in the centre of the US. Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) was in Seattle during period Grell was working on him. Hawkman and the Atom would probably fit in too. Aquaman is definitely east (Atlantic). Wonder Woman is rather Washington DC. The Martian Manhunter would work for either.

casualplayer
Re: Favorite Character West of the Missippi Things are more spread out in the West, so a hero has to be able to move! Bonneville Flats and all the test pilots and long stretches of highway. Speed and travel and rockets are very West. Nuclear testing grounds make for a certain flavor of hero. What kind of man gets blow up then goes to fight crime? Most of the West used to be Mexico. You can't forget that. Can't go wrong with a horse motif. Bronco, Mustang, Palomino, etc. Similarly cowboys. Ranger, Gunslinger, Wild Bill, etc. Strangely enough for a area with a reputation for sun and heat, fire-based heroes abound. Could use a nice Icemaker when the mercury tops 100.
Matt Holck
Re: Favorite Character West of the Missippi west of the Mississippi, Nebraska Cobra Background Adam Seed was born in Nebraska with a skin condition that had him pealing all over like a bad sunburn. He was obsessed with his skin to a point of autism. As a child, he was shunned for his appearance so spent his time in the fields catching snakes. Once in high school, Adam sought to change his pealing issue. He crossed his gene with a cobra and became able to shed is skin in regular interval as opposed all the time in hanging patches. Having learned of Adam's genetic alteration success, the Military quickly recruited Adam for research projects in producing super soldiers. In the military, Adam learned martial arts. The military had found a way to cut nerves and completely deaden the sense of pain in loyal volunteers. This created a soldier that could push much further to complete their duties when wounded. This loss of a sense of pain left the soldiers susceptible to infection as they could not sense wounds on their bodies. This is where Adam stepped in. He developed a genetic nose so the soldiers could smell their wounds. The noses were large and appeared to be pig snouts and these soldiers became known as Orcs. All this time, Adam's skin pealed at regular intervals. And he was slowly transforming into the snake man that he is today. Bolstered by success, Adam was move to a project where soldiers were bread that never stopped growing. The problem arose when these giants would ultimately collapse under there body mass by the time they were 35 years old. There was nothing Adam could think of as he slowly become a monster. Needless to say, he lost funding, and that was when Rex recruited him. Adam changed his name to Cobra. Rex, a super intelligent tyrannosaurus bent on bringing the dinosaurs back, provide Cobra with a research lab and brain moss. Here Cobra create a new race "the Alumnigators" bipedal alligator that are smarter than humans. Rex was eventually defeated and Cobra disappeared. The Alumni gators have communities these days in remote areas and consider Cobra , "the grand creator". and the story goes on... Cobra's brain in a giant stinging jelly fish was last seen cabled into the brain of a sperm whale. Personality Cobra is fascinated by DNA structure and RNA gears. His head is often lost in this molecular space. When present he will be on task moving quickly with determination. "I can fix you" "intelligent design is the next step in evolution"
csyphrett
Re: Favorite Character West of the Missippi Infinity Inc used to be based in a studio in LA. Star Spangled Kid had a contract with the city. Wonder Man had a stunt man career in his solo series. The west coast is famous for hollywood, earthquakes, deserts, beaches and rain in the northern states. Dolphus worked in the pacific as a protector of the ocean.
