Spence
Well I got the opportunity to run Hero last weekend and my FLGS. I ran it as a demo with pre-made everything. It was a Pulp/Golden Age supers game and it was a great success with all the players wanting to go to a full campaign. Since they are all role players, they have taken the learning curve with a grain if salt and we have decided on a mini-bootstrap with me designing all the PC’s for the first few sessions. They described ideas for their second best character concept and I will make two versions of each that they will pick from and play. After we play a couple sessions (or three) they will either re-work it, keep it or make a new one. By handwavium we will make it as if the final PC they have was there all the time. That way we don’t need to restart the campaign but lets the players get a real feel for character design by play. I have to say I’m a bit pumped. It has been a while since I have gotten this amount of interest in a Supers game. We are shifting time line for the campaign to a more modern setting. Not modern but a quasi-modern fuzzy time kind of like the one used in the Animated Batman series. Fashion and cars could look 40/50’s but then their you had grunge/punk and cell phones. Anyway I am kinda pumped right now and thought I'd share
